Huzzah for Ripple!!! :fireworks: :fireworks: :fireworks:

Back home after several errands. We had breakfast out, then ran to MIL’s to pick up a check for deposit. FCD showed his mom how to open the top of her stove to clean under the drip pans. So she’s got something to occupy her today. Then we deposited the check and transferred some money from the bank to the CD at the credit union. Last stop was Aldi.

Once we got home, I built 4 meatloaves - 2 to go to MIL, plus I found some beef-barley soup in the freezer that I’ll send to her. I also bought a big tray of chickie tits - gotta decide what to do with them. Some will be frozen as is, others I’m thinking will go into something for future meals - like maybe a casserole or soup or something. I’ll figure that out later.

Chore now is to pull out my sewing machine and do a few repairs. Because what else does one do on a soggy, dreary afternoon?

Hooray!! :tada: :tada:

Today’s agenda includes finishing the reorganizing that I mostly got done yesterday. When you spend almost all of your adult life in houses, keeping an apartment from overflowing requires regular sort-throughs and reorganizing. I quit doing it for 6 months, and it showed when you opened a closet door. After I’m done with yesterday’s stuff, there are other closets and cupboards to do.

I’ll also get to the gym, World Market (for the coffee flavoring I use in tea), and the pharmacy (again). That will take up the rest of the day due to all the walking.

Washington State has a program that’s supposed to make it easy to recycle computers, but there are no sites in my city, and they don’t take printers or cables. The Best Buy near me won’t take them, either. I hate throwing that stuff away.

sari, that’s WONDERFUL news about Ripple! :dog:

BooFae, hooray! It sounds like a nice change for you! I can’t find a secondment emoji, so here’s a celebratory penguin: :penguin: :tada:

JtC, I love that GG got such a kick out of the snow! He’ll be asking for more snow once this melts, and then what’re you going to do?

Mortimus, do you have a Mumper name? I can’t recall. Sorry about the medical condition and retirement, though.

waves happily at Susan

Great news

I have to get a new phone soon because most of the aps will no longer load. When our daughter comes in 2 weeks, we’re going to go to the store together.

boofae Congrats! Out of a rut and into a new challenge.

sari That’s truly great news. Yay for Ripple!

Have just been internetting, playing some computer games and listening to the tv in the background. Need to go Krogering. Lobster bisque for lunch. Hubs will pick up his dinner at our parish fish fry. Not sure what I’m going to have; likely pierogi or possibly mac n cheese.

Somehow someone tagged me as “Morty” It works for me. I still haven’t quite figured out how naming conventions work in MMP or what proper protocol is for responding to other folks’ posts. But I’m paying attention. Eventually I’ll get it

Curl up and read?

what a good boy! so glad the treatment is working.

Hooray for Ripple!

YAY for Ripple! :tada:

I have ~15 minutes remaining in my workday: for the last hour, every email/Skype/Teams notification has gotten on my nerves. Soon enough I will be trading my jammies for actual clothes, throwing on a baseball cap, and heading to my tattoo removal appointment. The sessions are quite painful, so I’m not looking forward to it (or the unique “laser-burned skin” smell), but I’m nearly a year into this process and still determined. Plus, they said it could take up to two years. I definitely notice some blurring and fading, but there is also still clearly a tattoo on my arm: I’m hoping to see a lot more movement (of the ink) in the near future.

After the session I’ll head to the optometrist and drop off my “good” frames, to have the prescription updated to what I just got in my “backup” frames. I’ve been wearing the backups pretty much nonstop for the past week, as a sort of trial, and the new script is a good 'un. Time to upgrade the other pair. There’s a grocery store in the same shopping center as the optometrist, and – in a shock to absolutely no one – I’m nearly out of bananas and apples, so I’ll swing by there before heading back home. Then, happily, I have no plans this weekend and will not need to leave the house again until Tuesday morning.

The naming convention is random and totally bizarre in some cases. As for proper protocol - HAH! It is to laugh!!! We don’t need to steenkin’ protocal! Just think of this place as a never-ending Happy Hour or a block party where you just kinda hang out and toss in your 2¢ as you feel inclined. Don’t be a jerk applies, as on the board as a whole. Oh, and everyone is required to send me chocolate love offerings. No one ever does, but it’s still a requirement.

Have you been peeking in my windows this afternoon??

SIL texted, then called, asking if I’d take Tobias overnight next weekend. I put him off saying I needed to discuss with FCD, but I’m disinclined to do it. He wants to give my daughter a break, which is sweet of him, but not at my expense. The kid is enough work during the week, and he doesn’t always sleep thru the night. So I’m going to tell him no. I’m so mean…

Supper is almost ready - steak, twice-baked spuds, broccoli, and onions-n-'shrooms. It smells yum in here!

Congratulations, boofae!!

And sari, I’m so relieved for you and lil’ Ripple.

I am SO glad it’s Friday. This week has been a work rollercoaster. Compensation discussions started, I got thrown a butt-load of new work and people to manage, and am in the middle of some mind-boggling strategy discussion that amounts to, “Okay, well, let’s put it all in a pot and send it to overly.” Strategery. I was so wiped out yesterday I was nearly catatonic.

On the bright side, my face is much better, thank you. I’m surprised the trashcan didn’t have a face-shaped dent in it. I’m kind of sad I didn’t have a more dramatic shiner. If I get hit int he face that hard I at least want the bruise to prove it.

Off I go. Hoping to have a quiet night with knitting, tacos and chillage. After visiting overlymom, of course.

:chocolate_bar: :two_hearts: :palm_up_hand:

Best I can do.

I’m sorry that you got hit, but I admit I was a bit amused about the incident. And it seems to be the way things go. There’s the random bruise that comes from nowhere, and the thing that should have left a bruise leaves no mark.

Busy week, and now it’s time to get some sleep. But at least I managed to catch up. Night!

Howdy Y’all! Apart from goin’ to get fried catfish and all the fixin’s for N.O.L. which required puttin’ on acceptable attire, this has been a day of high sloth. It’s very windy out and we even had a couple of small rain showers. So nappage and day drinkin’ along with the catfish have been the highlights of the day. Thus it is in swampland.

sari hooray for the fantastic news about Ripple! He is a good boy!

Oopsie a weekend of sloth sounds just like what you need.

Talky sounds like you could do with a weekend of sloth as well.

MOOOOOOM it is not mean to say no. I know you lurve the Tobester dearly, but FCD and you need time together as well.

Lily your pic of chawklits reminded me of the Russell Stover outlet store we visited in Gatlinburg, TN. They had all the usual good stuff at a somewhat discount price. They also had what they called “seconds” which were chawklits such as in the pic that did not turn out lookin’ like they should. They sold them in big boxes real cheap. We called them chawklit abominations as they looked atrocious but tasted like the purty ones anyway. My mind wanders to strange places and memories for no reason at all.

It’s probably a very good thing for my waistline and my A1C that I don’t live near that store, and that so far as I know there isn’t one near me. I couldn’t care less if it looks pretty as long as it tastes good.

Yay for Ripple’s improvement sari!

Moooooom, you aren’t being mean. You do not claim the child on your taxes, therefore entitling you to say no to taking him for the night.

swampy, I discovered a Russell Stover outlet at the factory near Cookeville, TN when I did a sales project in the area. It was pre-diabetes and I picked up some of the seconds for myself, friends and family.

Today has been a windy one. Wind gusts from 50-65 mph, making it a small dog warning day. When I went to Lavergne to the Kroger store, I discovered that it was closed because the power was out in town (I’m just as close to that Kroger as the one in my town and like the store better). That meant that I had to go to the big Kroger here in town. An old boyfriend’s son bagged my groceries. I hadn’t seen him for a couple of years. He’s autistic, so often says things out of social context. Nevertheless, he’s a good kid and I’m glad that he has a job that he likes.

A patty melt and a salad is supper. I may load Nelson up and go to Panera for a cookie (and a pup cup for him) later.

I fear I chose poorly. I was contemplating hitting up TJ’s on the way home from irk today, but decided that’d be an excuse to get out of the house tomorrow. Now we’re, according to the weather guessers, getting 3-6" of gunk over the next day or so, and it’s already coming down. I can always throw the truck into 4x4, but I may just stay in.

Who’s the good dog!?! Great news, here’s hoping it continues!

I am so sorry. This getting old thing sucks at times.

And the good news just keeps on coming! Hurray!!!

He had SO much fun! VBC almost broke her tongue trying to fix his fur. Sadly for GG, the snow has all melted off and the birds are off doing bird things instead of scratching around for dropped birdseed.

This would be an excellent opportunity for SIL to start thinking about other options. Stand fast, you deserve the rest after a long week of child care even more than her.

Today was cold and clear. When we got up all of the mountains were white, but most of the snow has melted off now. GG is still recovering from his exciting snow day yesterday and now hubs wants me to leash train GG so I can take him out to play in the next snow storm. This just sounds like a really bad idea, so I’m going to “forget” to shop for a walking harness.

I have come to the conclusion that the shamrock shaped butter pats I’m making for St. Pat’s day will not have stems. The molds have stems but they are really thin and keep breaking. I’ve got a mess of chives growing for the cream cheese, so I’m pretty set for next week.

I’m starting to get a little goat milk, but not enough to fill all of the feta orders I get every week which makes me sad. Cow milk feta isn’t nearly as good and I don’t like to sell inferior products. (I’m still staying out of barns, I’ve lived this long without seeing the “miracle of birth” a second time, I intend to not risk messing up my record this year.

Always my first choice!
