JtC, the storage unit has me intrigued. Not that the other findings are boring, but a storage unit?

Welcome back shoe! We missed ya!

Moooom, my Elantra is a 2018, but a push button start that isn’t affected.

taters, the town where I currently reside looked far different in 1983. Before then, it was a sleepy little town between Nashville and Murfreesboro TN of ~5K people. In 1983, Nissan built a manufacturing plant, currently employing ~7K people. The town has grown tenfold. Even since I’ve irked in the area beginning in the mid nineties, it’s grown massively.

{{{silenus and havoc}}} May she have a peaceful passing. Hugs to you and skritches to the rest of the kittehs.

They shut my department down at 11:00 today. Given that it was a lovely 75F day, I came home, grabbed the tablet (where the books that I read reside) and Nelson and headed to the dog park. He was a tired little guy after an hour and a half. We saw his former dogsitter with her little guy (and Nelson’s bud) Max, Cotton, Winky and their dad and a sweet golden retriever pup. Nelson, Max and the pup played puppy tag for about 45 minutes, wearing Nelson out.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

We have supped and the kitchen is cleanded up. Sloth and chillage continue.

{{{Quietly}}} so sorry about Havoc. You are doing the right thing, however. She had a wonderful and much loved life because of you.

red glad Nelson got to hang with his homies this afternoon.

We are five months into that class my wife and I signed up for. All of my blocks are done and before the sixth class I need to sew them into the subgroups for assembly:

In the sixth class we will do the final assembly and then it will go into the finished quilt tops. We have a bit of a backlog waiting for a good day to spend on the long arm machine

@silenus

Sorry about your kitty quietly

It is POURING down out there. I’ve seen showers with lower water pressure.

Sincere condolences. It’s hard to do but it has to be done. ((hugs))

Thank you all. She went on her own terms and passed on before I could get her to the vet. She will be missed. Her sister is on my chest as I type, purring to reassure me.

Tonight it will be Irish whisky. No water because I want it to hurt a little.

L’Chaim!

{{{silenus & Havoc}}} I’m glad it was a quiet, peaceful passing. It’s the best one can hope for a beloved companion. We don’t expect Taz to be with us much longer - he’s becoming more skeletal every day. :crying_cat_face:

Daughter has taken her spawn and gone home. I told her when Roxy is done with kindergarten, I’m done with regular child care. I’ll help them out in a pinch - like if the kids get sick and can’t go to school/day care, but beyond that, my life will be my own in a year.

There was someone I wanted to respond to, but scrolling back, for the life of me, I can’t recall who it was. Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most… :stuck_out_tongue:

Lots of dirty dishes in the kitchen - guess I need to have a go at 'em. Then I plan to collapse. I think I’m sleeping with Mel tonight. I’s tahred.

That is beautiful work hippy!

{{{silenus & Havoc}}}. Her passing was peaceful and her memories will be with you forever.

FCM, that’s giving them enough time to make arrangements for the kids, so stick to it (know you will).

Nettie, hope the rain eases back some, if you see some old guy with animals following 2 x2, it probably isn’t going to stop…

hippie, looks great, can’t wait to see the finished product.

Sweet dreams tonight Butters.

nellie, good news on the refund. The US Government site says I should be getting my refund (electronically) in a day or so, the State of Alabama says…meh, maybe by May…

Oopsie, no stealing necessary, I saw it in a book of sayings many years ago and never forgot it (especially since I worked where it was true more often than not).

OK, dinner has been devoured and sloth will be the order of the evening. May do another load of travel pictures to keep the FB multitudes entertained. All y’all take care.

Would that be the fabulous Rocket City Trash Pandas?
I LOVE them!

Hugs to Silenus and Havoc. They take a part of our hearts when they leave.

Yep, in beautiful Toyota Field. To be honest, haven’t been to a game there yet, just not a big baseball fan…but if you need any fan stuff, just let me know…

I send you, and everyone who loved Havoc, my most sincere condolences. I’m so very sorry.

Happy Toosday!

It was 39 degrees at the park this morning, but it felt colder. It was very wet from all the rain overnight.

My son got a taste of what I go through when he isn’t here to help with Palladia nights. Cerby gulps his food and then wants to take Echo’s. Echo wants to get to Ripple’s food.
Then when we pull out the ice cream to give Ripple his Palladia, all three go crazy and want to take each other’s ice cream.
Cerby inhales his food/ice cream, so he is always ready for more.
Ripple is a slow eater, he chews everything thoroughly. Except ice cream, which is why we use ice cream for the Palladia since the tablets aren’t supposed to be crushed or broken.
Echo doesn’t like green beans, so she flings them out of the bowl. I should have used the immersion blender to break them up.
Cerby will clean up after her, I think he will eat just about anything.
And of course, Adam stands there giving me the evil eye until I dish up a little for him.
It’s a pain in the ass trying to keep them at their own bowls, so everybody gets the right pills and nobody is stressing anybody else by standing too close while they are eating.

FCM if my mother left cash, it would not be taxed. Other than the house and a small amount in the checking account, everything else is in investments. I don’t know the difference between all the accounts, it makes my head hurt to read the stuff, but taxes will be paid.
It’s nowhere near $5 million.

I decided my son can take this one as a lump sum. He won’t make up his mind and told me to decide.

Ooopsie, I look at it this way. If somebody gives you $100, you’ll just spend it on something. If they give you $10,000, you’re likely to set that aside and wait for something special.

We’re not buying the property. Niece1 insists we have to pay full price, and nope. If my sister gets a discount on the house then I want a discount on the property. I was going to put it in my son’s name since I’m pretty sure he is going to outlive me. Niece1 said she would buy it with him and there is no way in hell that is happening. So Niece1 is going to buy it.
At least that way it won’t sit on the market for who knows how long.

My cousin says I should go no contact with all of them. That is looking better and better all the time.

So, a lot of shit has been decided.

The last thing on my list for today is to install the new toilet seat.
I hope I made the right choice for a replacement. This one is higher and will be easier on my knees.
I’m tired of running upstairs though. The bolts on the old seat are plastic and are falling apart.

I just found out an old friend of mine died. I haven’t seen her in years, we lost touch when she moved. Unfortunately, her name may as well have been Mary Smith to try to find her online. Everybody in her family has very common first and last names. Every now and then I would go out online and try to find her. I came across her sister’s obit and found out my friend predeceased her.
I remember when she was checking her credit report. Her credit report was a combination of six people with the same name. It took her almost two years to get it straightened out. Her husband’s report was a mess too, as he had a common first name, and a half-brother, who could have been his twin, who stole his identity.

Very nice irk Hippie

{{{Silenus & Havoc}}}

Got my son off to irk. I’ll be giving the brats their pills soon, I have my list for tomorrow ready, and then I’m going to bed.

Sweet kitty, both of them.

I’ll be thinking of you. Share happy memories of her when you can.

Nice work there Hippie. Has Ralphie given his seal of approval yet?

silenus, I’m sad for you for losing Havoc. Tonka was 17 when he died, and we took him to his last trip to the vet a day late. (His last day was not pleasant.) Good on Havoc for leaving on her own terms.

@swampbear
of course! He is official Quaity Control:

:people_hugging:

It never gets easier.

We don’t need a court order, the CLCS owns the property and the buildings, they have the legal authority to cut any lock they want. I’m not a board member, I can’t cut their locks without their permission and I won’t do it without at least one board member with me. And a couple of armed guards, who knows what’s been growing in there all these years? I’ve watched way too many horror stories to just cavalierly cut the lock, toss it in the weeds and stroll right in whilst wearing a red shirt.

That’s a good thought, because they do need somebody to help them out of the mess they are in and I am just not qualified to do that sort of financial work for them.

Two brick storage buildings on the same fenced lot.

I’m fairly sure they are full of rusty ground-keeping tools, at one time there were three parks and two lakes with picnic tables and ramadas. Then the 20 year drought started and the lakes dried up and the parks turned brown and everything just got too depressing for words.

Or, they are full of 30 year old financial records and building plans. I was planning on bringing a can of gas in case there was a nest of vampires in there, but if I see boxes full of paper, I’ll splash it around anyway. If we can’t discover it, we can’t disclose it and nobody could prove that I was really doing anything more than getting rid of a huge hantavirus laden rats nest.

We did a little research about the lot with the squatter and learned that we don’t need to worry about kicking them off the land for three years. Longer if no board members know they are there, I am just a private citizen with no obligation to do anything about that property. I’ll keep driving past that lot, but as long as I don’t see them trashing the place, I can’t see any reason to kick them further out into the desert.

Hippy, your quilt is going to be beautiful, the pieces are just gorgeous and I am all jealous about the wonderful colors you picked out.

Yep. Now you just have to make sure that neice1 doesn’t suddenly decide that she deserves a discount on the land.

I agree that no contact with them once this is over sounds like a good idea.

We love you.
