I’ve been assured that I’m gettin paid with no “teaching requirements.” I just build shit.

Aren’t they sending you any voluntold muscle?
Hubs has several filing cabinet drawers and a couple of desk drawers filled with random computer cables and stuff. I keep trying to convince him that if we haven’t used them in four or five years, we don’t need them. He never seems very receptive.
You don’t live to get as old as I am without learning a thing or two about zombies!!!
I’m glad you set a date to get your life back. You worked hard to be able to retire comfortably, now you should be able to enjoy it. I know you love your grands, but we have gone through menopause because Mother Nature says we are too old to have babbies, who are we to argue?
I’m assuming you have a top loader? That sounds like a wonderful idea, btw, but my first thought was to wonder how you got it going fast enough to not smash the screen from dropping as the tub got up to speed.

Awwwww!
I have thought that was more than fair for years!
I’ve never heard of this before. How very cool!
Yeah, I wasn’t really clear, was I? When I get a head of cauliflower, I cut up enough bite sized pieces to fill a bell jar for pickling (and pickle them), then I grate the rest to make rice. I use what I need for that meal and then I press the moisture out of the leftover rice and freeze that to use within a couple of weeks.
I once kept some in the fridge for a week and it did not work out well, I have since read that it will keep for 3-4 days in the fridge, but once burned…
More hugs and sympathy. Stay warm!
Yeah, I know just what you mean!
Today I had to make the surplus produce run alone because LWT was working. It was clear and 40F when I left but by the time I had gained 500 ft altitude, the snow had started. The wonderful volunteers were out there smiling at us, so I came home and ordered a box of chemical handwarmers to hand out next week.
We got potatoes, eggs, celery, onions, lots of sugary breakfast cereals and baked goods and a couple of cases of some sort of clear sport drink that the MWT made very clear were welcome. They must put their food away as soon as they get it because I saw MWT crutch himself through the mud to get to the fence so he could pitch the empty boxes into our yard less than 20 minutes later. I hated watching him struggle like that, but I knew that he would hate it even more if I were to suggest he call me to come and get them.
I waited for him to get inside before I got the boxes and put them on the deck cause it’s too wet to put them in my car.
We haven’t had any snow here but there are weather alerts and warnings and closures happening. There is no reason for us to leave our property for a few days, so we won’t. If not for the yard flock and litter robot, we wouldn’t need to leave the house either. Rotten beasts!
VBC is of the firm belief that we give COC the best food and likes to nosh out of his bowl when the baby gate is open. Today GG saw me open the monster gate and saw a cat go through it and FLUFFED and ran behind the kitchen island to hide. When he realized that COC wasn’t in the same room and the gate was closed again, he crept over to look in the door and saw a cat that looked just like his sissy, but couldn’t possibly be because she was in the monster room, so he FLUFFED again and scarpered off to the spare room to hide under the bed.
