Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN* ‘Tis 78 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 85 and hurricane/tropical storm/apocalypse beginnin’ this afternoon. We sit and wait. OYKW will go to irk this mornin’ and they will close this afternoon if need be. The plan is to be closed tomorrow for sure. Just hope we don’t lose power.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Local forecast is that we may see the outer bands tomorrow with lots of rain, but that should be it. Meanwhile, another too-warm day today. But there’s lots of work on my desk, so yay for that!

Up extra early after a night of hardly any sleep. Had to get up early to clean the house before the maid gets here. :dubious: I’m gonna go sear my roast and get it in the crock pot,switch the laundry and get ready for irk. I really wish I could stay home today. I could have if I had planned for it.

My roast was too big for the crock whole so I chunked it up, browned it and it is now crocking. I unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and the washer. I stripped the bed. I am done now except getting ready for irk. I am tahred already.

Morning all. Woke up about 2am and had trouble getting back to sleep, so finally got up at about 6:30. Nappage may be in my future plans. also need to run the dishwasher and do a couple loads of clothes.

Another bad case of the grumpies going on today.
I woke up too early and didn’t get back to sleep.
However the sun is shining and it’s a nice 72 degrees outside.
Red - I pretty sure he was exposed to Country Joe a few times, but he probably didn’t pay much attention. I am lucky that my son and I have basically the same taste in music.
As he and I have been taking this History of Rock class together, it makes me a bit sad for his generation. We got cool music, they get pink pussy hats and autotune.
But maybe that is just the old lady in me talking.
There is a place for barn hunts near my mother, 2 hour drive each way.
The way Ripple goes for squirrels, I think he would like it.
First he needs to get snipped and then we’ll think about it.
He is such a little goof, I bought him some really nice treats, chicken jerky wrapped around a rawhide stick, and he ignores them and wants a cough drop. Something not quite right with him.

It really was that good a vacation/trip/whatever. Even Da Jungle seemed brighter yesterday just by association. Not the bosses; they were their usual dim-witted selves. But even that seemed fun.
(We got these new labels; much harder to read fast. Most things had to go through the building 2-10 times before it got to the right place. Seeing them panic over something I knew in my heart-of-hearts was going to be rough was a serious giggle.)
Order several as soon as you can!

I’m gonna be busy today; I actually got an engineer to set aside some time with me to go through new instructions. Wow. Then tomorrow, I’m going to Milwaukee for a half-day conference. I’ll actually earn my money for a couple days.
I’m not earning mine. My official irk computer is in the hospital so there is not really a lot I can do without it. I see my boss is out in the field getting ready for Fall Fest. I may go ask him if I can go home early again today. I have too much leave and will lose some at the end of the year if I don’t use it. I did not earn it to lose it.
I have a bunch of stuff to do tomorrow to get all the decorating supplies ready and to decorate the hay ride wagon. We are not doing any of that until the day of since there is still a good chance of rain and it is too breezy to raise the tents.

Lunch time. I was talking to one of our 2 n00b engineers - he’s going to get the latest batch of drawings I have for check. We need to get more guys on line to check drawings and he seems to be pretty sharp. I found a guide for him to use - Here’s hoping he comes up to speed.
Other than that, nothing exciting, which is good. I’m in no mood for exciting.
I didn’t tell you about my weird dream last night - apparently I was accused of murder. It was disturbing. My sleeping brain is out of control!!!

We had freakishly nice weather today; sunny and positively warm. It should be chilly by now, 20°C in October is Not Right, it should be more like 12-14°C on a sunny day.
I’m still getting used to having my skool week starting on Wednesday, my brain can’t decide if it’s halfway through the week or not. We’re getting some interesting classes anyway, so my brain’s getting a good workout.

I was reading yesterday that some evangelical maroon is saying that Mickey, and all the other Hurricanes, were created and are controlled by democrats. :eek: Apparently they, or we, for certain values of ‘we’, are in control of the weather. Let me tell you, if I was able to control the weather there’d be thunder and lightening and hurricanes over washington dc every day of the year! :mad:
What’s really sad is that there are people who believe this asshat.
I’ve always wanted a fainting couch and I particularly like the red version, but I went and read the reviews on Amazon and looked at the pictures one unhappy purchaser posted. :eek: I think Ima gonna pass on this one.
Sari, i doubled up on my pills once, and since some of them were heart pills, I called and talked to a nice woman at Poison Control. she said I would probably be alright but if I got to feeling real bad to go to the ER. That was my plan anyway, but the fact that she din’t say OMG! Go to the hospital right now! made me feel better.
For the record: I survived.
BTW, I’m confused about why it’s called ‘the history of rock’. Sounds more like the history of music to me since it apparently covers all sorts of musical styles from before rock to after rock.
Mom, I almost never remember my dreams, except this morning I remembered something about a knife block full of pistols, most of which didn’t look like pistols, and I needed to pick two of them to take with me somewhere for something.

Howdy Y’all! Michael has started his visit. So far just a lot of rain and some wind. It could and probably get worse through the afternoon and evenin’. We shall see. The good news is that whatever happens happens today and tonight and not on through tomorrow as originally thought. OYKW is here and acheivin’ nappage as I post. I shall make my version of cheese steaks out of the roast beast from yestiddy along with oven baked steak fries for sup. Nummy and easy to fix so win-win!
