Adam, I do believe there’s a story here that I’ve somehow missed. How about hijacking the thread and satisfying my unseemly curiosity?
psiekier tells me he will be there. I know I speak for all of us when I say that when you think Mardi Gras, you think Pete.
C=(;^{D>)
?!?
That’s a new one on me. I thought Army of Darkness would spring to mind first, and you know what that means…
… skeletons blowing their loads!

So it’s more of a day of the dead thing than a mardi gras thing, is that what you’re telling us?
Oh, Pete… you are dead TWICE the next time I see you…
C’mon, Palmyra, you didn’t think he would EVER let you forget making such a brilliant joke, did you?
'Cuz it WAS a joke, right? I’m SURE I remember you telling me in the kitchen you were going to say it, and wondering if it would get a laugh. Yeah, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it as long as you have the negatives.
I swear up and down three times, that terrible line was a complete accident.
Jim, can we get an update on the RSVP list? Psiekier and ayesha/lionsob are the only ones who’ve contacted me directly.
Not much to tell, Chef. Catbiker said maybe. Pete said he was coming. And Grace said she’d be there on the 22nd, but I think that was the same as a yes.
Jim
The Hurricane mix is winging its way to Dallas from Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans as we speak. I’m on my way to get mardi gras masks and beads this afternoon.
This is going to be SO cool.
By the way, does anyone have any zydeco music they can bring, or should I break down and buy a CD?
Nope, I don’t, but I did go to a concert that Buckwheat Zydeco opened for Eric Clapton if that counts.
[sub][sup]This was actually just a [sup]bumpity[/sup] bump.[/sup][/sub]
Jim
I’m bringing a guest with me this time, so you can expect us to:
1). Eat more
and
2). Make a bigger donation.
You are so sexy when you’re threatening! Have I ever told you that?

Jim, you’re probably wondering why I haven’t responded to your invite. I forgot to tell everybody that my e-mail has changed, and you can find it in my profile. Anyway, my doctor still hasn’t contacted me about the upper GI results from Friday, so I still don’t know what’s going on. I will definitely be there, though.
I stopped at the party supply store yesterday. they were fresh out of parties so I just got some supplies instead.

Anyhoo, I bought a dozen white domino masks and a bunch of beads, and some decorations, etc. Here’s the idea I had: I want everyone to take a mask and decorate it when you get to the party - I’ll have all of Chef Jr.'s markers and stuff out on the table. Show me your decorated mask in exchange for your first Hurricane. And we’ll have a contest, and the best mask wins the one string of super-mega-awesome beads I bought.
So start thinking about what designs you want to draw on your mask, and come prepared to get creative!
What do you think?

Cool idea Cheffy, I will try to dig out some of my craft stuff, maybe some glitter and glue or something to bring along, if there is any left. We are getting weather reports of rain Saturday, so we will be leaving here in the wee small hours of the morning (2-4 am).
Markers? How plain. I’ll see about acquiring some feathers, sparklies, and really good glue. We’ll see how creative we can get…as we explain how the masks got glued to our faces.
contemplating whether to bring my box of fake jewels…
Yes, I think we like the idea
Did I mention that Mrs. Chef works at a kids’ gymnastics place and is the Queen of Craft Projects? I’m sure we can scare up feathers, etc. I just didn’t know if you guys wanted to go to that much trouble.
