American Horror Story --- WTF???

I don’t like the daughter. Sick of the know-it-all world weary young snots who act out, act out, act out, treating their parents like idiots.

The ‘new ghost’ is definitely the doctor’s wife, from back in the 20’s or 30’s. The head wound was only shown to us, for shock value. As far as pregnant mom knows, she thought she was showing the house to a living human.

I knew there was something familiar and likable about the doctor’s wife twitchy, troubled expression. (Lily Rabe) We’ve seen it before, in her mother: Jill Clayburgh. I hope her character sticks around, I felt her face and style suited her original era nicely.

I thought the ‘new ghost’ was the pregnant woman the doctor’s wife drugged and then took down to the basement so her husband can perform an abortion. I can only assume something went wrong and she got her brains bashed in to keep her from talking, hence the open head wound.

The way I see it is that she didn’t drug the husband so she could be free, but it’s her “job” to do messed up stuff to the people that live in the house. Whether she really wants to or not.

I don’t think it was the girl’s death that prevented her from ever being free, but I when he was burying the girlfriend in the backyard, I thought there were bones in the “grave” already (which I assume are the maid’s) and when he poured concrete over them and then built a gazebo, the maid knew no one would find her bones and be able to free her.

No, the new ghost was the doctor’s wife. Remember how she was remembering every detail about the house? The house was built for her in the 1920s.

I assumed that the Maid kept drugging the Dylan McDermott and leaving him on top of her grave on purpose. He started digging her up, but didn’t really know why. She must have given him some sort of ghostly post-hypnotic suggestion to dig in that spot.

When Constance saw what the Maid was doing, she tried to convince the husband to build a gazebo over the grave, to trap the Maid forever. (Constance will never forgive the Maid for daring to get assaulted by her husband!) It was just the Maid’s bad luck that the pregnant girl died and needed a grave in a jiffy.

This show is campy as hell, but you can never say it isn’t entertaining.

So did anyone watch last night? Thought that was one of the better episodes. Really liked the gay couple and of course, we knew Hayden would show up soon. I think the Maid comes across as the most sympathetic character in the whole f-ed up house.

Ahh…poor Maddie too (I think thats her name) although maybe she’ll be happier living with her “friends”.

I watched it. It’s way beyond the crazy - I can’t tell if it’s “good” or “bad” anymore, but I’m hooked.

I think Tate’s a ghost - the only reason he could meet Kyle somewhere besides the house was because it was Halloween, when the dead can intermingle with the living.

Ditto on the maid visiting her mom and mercy-killing her.

If this thing lasts beyond a season, it needs a new family coming in next year, with this family joining the dead party there.

I watched - wife and I are loving this show. I think I’m beginning to understand why the maid can’t leave. She’s buried there, on the grounds. Her mother’s ghost appeared and said, “come with me” but she can’t. Now we know why. For whatever reason, the house keeps you as a ghost if you’re killed there. This is why the young pregnant girl has returned, and I’m thinking the burned man did this on purpose, knowing it would ruin Kyle. I’m starting to think the Realtor’s a ghost too. She’s the one who suggested the “fluffers.”

And now we also know what’s living in the basement…

I guess that’s the last we’re going to see of Constance’s daughter, poor thing. She didn’t die on the grounds of the house so her spirit is free. Right?..In other news, Rubber Man is making his presence known. I think I know who he might be…

The gay guys who showed up aren’t the fluffers she was sending. I bet there’s a throwaway line in a week or two where the realtor apologizes that the fluffers didn’t make it out to the house.

I think Constance dragged her onto the property on purpose because she didn’t want to lose her - at least she’ll still be around as a ghost. Like the maid and, I think, Tate.

Totally agreed on both points. That’s where one’s suspension of disbelief really gets stretched; somehow the writers have to come up with a way for Viven and Kyle to believe that the two gay psychos are just random people that weren’t sent by the realtor. I’m still loving it though! Also, if Vivien could die in child/demon birth, that’d be ok too.

Great analysis, thanks! I was lost about the waking up on the partially dug grave bit.

I actually felt sad when Addie met her fate. I love that she wasn’t as naive or unintelligent as the neighbors gave her credit for. Great idea to portray Constance as jealous of every female in her presence, regardless of age or beauty.

Everyone’s ghostly until proven innocent as far as I’m concerned. It’s like watching Mission: Impossible, on full alert for rubber-face-mask switcheroos.

I like how days after Zachary Quinto came out, he’s on TV playing a gay character.

What’s wrong with the baby?? Demonic, deformed, conjoined twins? The woman passed out after looking at it, so it has to be something majorly wrong, yet nothing more was said about it.

I’m with Morbo. Uh…did Dad nearly crying about what Violet was like as a kid make anyone else wonder if she’s a ghost too?

Actually, I think the Realtor suggested the fluffers with the* intention* of the gay couple showing up. When they arrived, Viv said, “are you the fluffers?” and they both just agreed and shook their hands, and decided to take on the whole decorating role.

The Realtor is constantly coming up with reasons why they can’t sell the house, yet she was able to sell it to Kyle and Viv. Not to mention that little exchange in the front yard between her and Constance when she was putting up the “For Sale” sign.

Come to think of it, have you ever seen the Realtor outside of the house or away from the yard?

Why are some of you calling Ben Kyle?

Oops. My bad. Ben it is.

Oh, no prob, I just thought I was missing something.

By the by, I think I know who Rubberdude is:
spoilering just in case I think it’s Morris Chestnut’s character. Didja see the way he was checking out Vivian, like he’s already been intimate with her?Anyone agree?

I didn’t think of that, but I did think the actor had been in just enough roles to keep from being a throwaway on a couple-lines-security guard. I fully expect to see him again, I just kinda figured the looks between them was to provide a revenge fuck for Vivian. Or maybe since we they are picking from classic horror movie themes and cliches, perhaps he will be the magical negro that saves the white women in the end.

I don’t know if Addy was inspired by Becky from Glee, but I like seeing Down’s Syndrome characters portrayed as, well, characters - a mixture of nice and asshole, just like everybody else. It’s a nice change from “magical retard”, which is the niche a lot of cognitively challenged characters seem to be created to fill.

I like the house being for sale - it’s a plausible cover for all these ghostly strangers to show up and wander around. Clever.

More hot maid!
