American Idol 14 & 15 Feb

Supposed to be a lot of eliminations tonight. More than half. Group performances.

Please, more Chris and Paris. Less contrived drama.

Maybe today we’ll find out what happened to Young Zach (as opposed to Androgynous Zach).

I probably won’t get to watch much, if any, of tonight’s show. I have a date with the husband for Valentine’s Day, you see. It’s too bad, becuase I’d really like to see the identity theft twins self-destrict. I guess there’s always tomorrow!

I’m sure there’ll be plenty of recap, Yellowval. Enjoy your romantic evening!

I’m up for more Chris and Paris as well. I could do without those obnoxious twin guys, though.

So are both shows this week Hollywood ones?

Thank you, I’m sure we will. I’m expecting everyone here to be my eyes and ears. You’re the only ones I trust.

And upon re-reading my post from earlier: that was supposed to be self-destruct, not self-destrict. Is destrict a word? I need some sleep.

Yes. The final cuts are tomorrow night.

Ahh, man, should we do both days in one thread? Likely the other CS users appreciate it saving real estate on the main page, but coming back to find where you left off reading in a multi-page thread sucks.

Paris, of course, and I’m looking forward to seeing that slender rawk guy that had the supportive and sobbing wife who was all “OMG, he’s been such a blessing to me and my kids and this is his dream” and stuff. I hope he didn’t get cut last week and I blinked and missed it, he was visibly nerved out during the first audition and I’d really like to hear more and see if he’s got as nice of a voice as I thought.

Speaking of Paris, I was thinking today that competition between her and Lisa Tucker could be interesting. Paris’s voice is just superb and she’s adorable, but Lisa can definitely sing and is arguably hotter and more marketable, hence the AI machine will probably highlight her more. Remember a few years back and the drama over splitting the strong black gospel voice vote? Could this be the battle of the really good very young black girls in the making?

I hope the group songs are as hidous as I am expecting.

Oh, of course. I forgot about ‘the chair episode’.

He does, and his name is Chris Daughtry. He brought the house down last week. Sustained applause and cheering from his peers in the audience for his entire clip. He was put through.

Priorities, girl – you need to have priorities! I also have a VD-Day date with hubba-hubby. But I made him promise that in lieu of a gift, he’d let me watch “Idol” uninterrupted tonight. Of course he’s getting a home-cooked dinner in exchange, but he was agreeable to this deal.

Seriously, though, have a lovely evening, and if you hear any hootin’ and hollerin’ later, that’ll be me, whooping it up because the Twins got the dressing-down they so desperately need and so richly deserve.

We’re having chocolate ganache torte tonight for dessert. I look forward to listening to some good singing from Paris and Chris and hopefully Young Zach while I eat a big slab of cake with an ice-cold milk chaser. Yum! Best Valentine’s Day ever, methinks.

Making dinner with my valentine (my daughter), and watching the show in a bit. She’s wondering what happened to some cute crooner guy back in the first audition episode. I don’t remember who’s she talking about… do any of you?

I agree 100% on the contrived drama… but you might as well ask the night not to be so dark.

YOUNG ZACK!!!

My guess is she’s talking about sweet Young Zach. We haven’t seen much of him; perhaps we will see him again tonight.

I missed The Daily Show last night so I will be switching back and forth between the rerun and this show.

*You are my eyes!

*A Valentine kiss for anyone who gets this reference.

Is this from “Flavor of Love”? I know Flav said this to Red Oyster, but you could be referring to something altogether else.

And, is it just me, or did Paris come off as a wee bit arrogant in that opening bit? I know we only saw her for a second there, but she seemed a little full of herself.

Not what I was thinking of. She also doesn’t sound that good singing that Bee Gees song. She’s over-singing.
