Well, it’s current hits, and a lot of wiggle room within that. They can pick crappy songs I’ve never heard from almost any genre! And since they all want to make hit songs, something better suit them.
Anyway, I love the fact that the results show is on April Fools Day. And the judges have a “save” card they haven’t used. It would be a wasted opportunity if they didn’t exploit that combination. <evil grin>
More haterbait: Gokey’s grandfather died this week. Cue the chorus of “dancing on another grave” nitwittery.
What was that hand gesture Gokey made? It was the bird in England. Did he go for a peace sign and mess up, or is it some Christian/gangsta thing?
It’s not really tragic so much as part of life to outlive your older relatives. Not saying it’s not sad, just not this huge tragic thing like losing a young wife. One of the things with those stories is that they dwell on one person, then you find out later somebody else lost their mom or dad in week 8 and nobody noticed because it’s not “their story.” Didn’t that happen one season where they made a huge deal about somebody’s father dying and it turned out somebody else’s father died during the season?
And Anoop didn’t disappoint on that front.
Not just died, but was killed while defending a violent attack on someone else, IIRC.
Yeah, I think he was a fireman or a cop or something and died in action. Megan sucks tonight. Too bad since it’s a good song.

I’m sort of stunned at how bad this is. She can’t seem to hold a note, even a wrong note. It’s weird and awful.

It took me half the song to recognize that was even Bob Marley. Poor Bob. He doesn’t deserve that.
Having said that, I have to give her some reluctant credit for even knowing who Marley was, much less doing a deep cut song like that.
It’s on the top 100 as covered by Lauryn Hill or somebody.
Still, it pisses me off that Simon disses the song itself. He’s got shit taste in songwriting.
Rascal Flatts is not “amazing” or “great” and not “everybody” likes them.
