American Idol Feb. 20-22

Why is Simon “happy,” and why does Paula KNOW that Simon is “happy?” Could it be that she slipped him some of her happy pills?

After last night, who can blame them?

One thing about that whole stupid exchange is that I got the feeling it was all staged-- except for Chris’ dig. And that was anger on Simon’s face. But it made for good TV so he got over it.

This girl is doing pretty good, but it’s kind of a boring song. What IS it with all these bland song choices so far?

The difference between last night and tonight is the first person out tonight looks like she belongs on stage.

Not my style, but I can still recognize that, damn, that was good.

She did not nail that last note at all. Not bad and she saved the trilling for the end where it belongs.

Good ending . I think she was already better than any of the guys last night.

For those who don’t know what we’re all talking about, Stephanie.

I thought it took Stephanie a little while to get into the melody, but when she took off, wow! A touch theatrical but definately memorable.

A heck of an improvement over last night already - I thought Stephanie was great. Though her hair bothers me for some reason.

These girls are such liars. The guys were ass.

This is so boring.

This Amy girl is ass, though.

I expect she’ll be gone tomorrow, and that’s without seeing ten of the other girls.

Points off just for doing Amy Grant. Mediocre performance. Not terrible, but forgettable.

Unlike Pauler, I do not remember Amy.

Nope. Not my cuppa. And it sounded off to me.

Amazing. This is two nights in a row where Paula has been coherent and useful in her critiques. I wonder if they secretly detoxed her.

This chick has weird eyes. There’s crazy in there somewhere.

Way to butcher classic Carole King with sour notes, Leslie. Oy.

How come she gets backup singers? No fair.

Performance is karaoke. Mildly ok frill at the end.

I enjoyed that but-- always a but-- I like my big girl voices and she does not have a big girl voice.

OMG! I agree with Randy. That never happeneds.
