“Aggressive and indulgent”: I must work this description into my daily vocabulary! Simon critiqued that performance to a T. I get the impression Nicole did that number just to show off what notes she could hit, regardless of how it made the audience feel.
Did Ryan just say someone was going to sing Celine? I hope it’s that “I’m your lady” song. We can never hear that enough on this show.
First one… Stephanie… um… does this song have a melody? Is she making this up as she goes along? Meh. I hate this style of music/singing. Can’t even really judge the voice because I’m so turned off by the song. Ow… she kinda bit it on the final “note” (I hate that melisma crap even when they hit the notes.)
Second one… Amy… ack she’s missing notes right and left, and the song is so boring I’m tempted to fast forward. I 100% agree with Simon–she’s completely forgettable.
Third up… Leslie… her dance moves seem really forced, and it seems like she is off key a bit? I can’t sing for crap, mind you, and I may not be the best judge of such things. Nice finish, though. Bleh dress though.

Say what you want about Celine (I certainly do) but you really gotta bring it when you sing her.
She does that thing where she keeps putting her hand out like she’s directing traffic. That’s so annoying.

Jersey girl Antonella seems like she is singing through her nose… and I am hating the song. Again, this is just the kind of music that pains me to listen to, and it was my impression that this is what American Idol was like that has kept me from watching it in previous seasons.
Melinda has no neck. Odd.
But she’s damn good.
Just popping in to say that the background singer girl absolutely has to win American Idol.
And if anyone tries Celine again I will start throwing things at my TV.
Did the brunette chick do Celine for each and every audition?

I love Melinda’s attitude as well as her voice. I hope she goes far too.
How can she remain humble if you keep telling her how humble she is? I liked her. But then that’s the kind of stuff I like.
