@purplehorseshoe
here are my last beer can chickens:
Howdy Again! I slept off the knock out stuff (really twilight stuff) mostly and have ingested pizza, sallit, and Diet Coke. Didn’t and still don’t want a beerverage. I am sure that will all change tomorrow. Also, tomorrow I shall betake myself over to the church house to get recorded for Sunday’s virtual service. I shall be the non-cannibal kind of Lector. I like how we do that so the service comes from the church itself. Fortunately this can be done with everyone bein’ well spaced out from each other.
Watched some of the inauguration on teh intartoobz. I’ll look at some more stuff tomorrow when it will make a bit more sense to me. Or maybe it still won’t make sense to me. That’s the fun of this kinda stuff. Anywho, the orange baboon is gone so that’s a big yat.
Yay! We have a grown ass president in the WH!
Mooooooom, the craisin bread sounds good.
You’re fortunate to be witness to history 2gig.
Irked, mailed some cards and stopped for gas on the way home. Playing in the studio after KP. Such excitement!
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Evening all. Cheeseburger has been devoured and is happily clogging my arteries. Garbage is out (they may not come until Firday due to the Holiday, but at least it’s out) and have several bills ready for the mail tomorrow. Not much else to report.
swampy, glad everything went well and may your appetite return soon. And yeah, like Bumba I was farting like a outboard motor when they finished with me…
2gig!! So you got to be a part (small but still critical) of history today. Congrats.
shoe, those chickens look like they’re dancing. Reminded my of Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” (go to 3:15) Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer (1986) - YouTube
OK, back to internettin’, all y’all take care.
Never heard of it. Beer is nasty – the only thing I use it for is braising bratwurst.
Napped, made Italian Chicken with orzo and spinach and tomatoes. Wathed the Leafs/Oilers game. Both teams scored twice, so the Leafs lost 3-1. LOL.
You have to use Bud for that.
More for me.
Glad you got to watch, Tugig.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort.
Morning, mumpers! It’s dry outside at the moment, parts of the UK have floods and we had snow last night, but I got out of bed to bright sunshine. The weather app says “Today, Mother Nature is going to beat you with cold. Just be glad she isn’t going to beat you with a floppy dildo” and promises me 5C/41F up to 6C/43F and mostly cloudy. That’ll do for me, I’m going nowhere.
giggity must have been fun to be a part of history yesterday! I watched the highlights of the inauguration on the news yesterday, everyone seemed so relieved that it was done and there were no massive protests. Reports in our news today says that the QAnon idiots are all very disappointed and not sure what to do with themselves next.
wordy I agree with you about people sending stuff at ridiculous times of day. Our operations manager does that, we have a Teams channel that he can use but he also chooses to send messages out on our whatsapp group too but I am happy to ignore him and his warblings when I’m logged out of my work 'pooter. I have worked late some evenings but that’s usually because we’ve got short deadlines and we get info very late, which is why I have so many banked hours. We’re short-staffed but the work never gets any less, so what can we do?
Swampy glad the procedure went ok and you’re back in the land of the living. I like the idea of you being able to film your various bits of deheathenating from the deheathenating establishment, I suppose it makes folks feel like you’re doing it right!
Off to drink tea and sort out the usual round of idiot questions…

Swampy - When they poked a shuftiscope up my nether regions, I could see the screen that the doc was watching. Did you get to see parts that are not usually seen?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’ YAWN Oh coffee, how I missed you yestiddy! ‘Tis 49 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 67 and maybe or maybe not rain. TWPTB are willy-nilly today. As I mentioned yestiddy, I shall betake myself over to the church house this mornin’ to record this Sunday’s virtual deheatenization. Also we shall lay in some provisions. Not much is needed, so should be a quick trip to the Pubic Sto’. We shall go to our favorite Mexican place for late N.O,L./early sup. OLÈ!
2bob I did get a peek up there whilst stuff was goin’ on, but I was nice and groggy, so don’t remember a whole lot. I like the fact that it went from, this is about to happen to it’s all over in what seemed a flash due to high quality drugs.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy, Then, alas, woe, and bother, I shall purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. One must look good on camera after all!
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Early start today! After tending to the critters, I got the first batch of pizza dough started so I can wrap it and get it in the freezer before I go pick up the kid for our Marine Museum adventure. Then when we get home, I’ll make the second batch. One for me, one for Daughter. I forgot about beer foaming up when you pour it - I hope I got the measure correct.
I’ve also breakfasted and caffeination is in progress. And it’s not yet 6 of the AM!!
The museum and subsequent toddler wrangling will be the big part of today. I’m thinking supper will be assorted miscellany, as the fridge is becoming crowded with little containers of bits and pieces. Or we might just have pizza… who knows?
I was awakened by a horrific nightmare - I was working at a child care center and I had charge of FIVE toddlers - all by myself!!! The very idea!!! Fortunately, I was able to calm myself and fall back to sleep.
bob_bob - when I had the procedure, I was far too out of it to watch the screen, even if I was inclined to do so. A small amount of alcohol knocks me out, so I imagine I have a similar reaction to anesthetic - even the mild kinds. But that’s fine - unlike my spousal unit, I don’t need all the minute details of anything medical that must be done to me. He, on the other hand, will watch videos of surgeries when he’s due to have something fixed. Nope, not my style…
And so the day begins. My new printer is being delivered today, and the curtains I ordered several weeks ago will show up tomorrow. Excitement all around!
Happy Thursday!!
Morning all.
It appears I now have all my shiny new irk stuff set up and ready to go- what I still don’t have is any irk… My line manager’s off until tomorrow, and, as I wasn’t set up, didn’t leave me anything to get on with. There’s a group meeting later, but I think it’s more of a general update for everyone in the department than anything else- maybe they’ll give me some training stuff to get on with, otherwise I’m just having another day pootling aimlessly.
I availed myself of the local takeaway system last night, partly out of laziness, party because the food I have isn’t great for cooking in a shared house (lots of stuff that takes ages- there’s 7 people here and only one small stove) and partly because I realised I have never actually ordered delivery myself before. When I was in a proper city before I always picked up or joined in on a general house order, and it wasn’t an option where I was before, except crappy pizza. Moving from a place with no delivery options to somewhere with a few hundred places (including some real offbeat ones- one of the highest rated places specialises in jellied eels ) is a pleasant change- there are options! (though I’ll pass on the eels)
Sitting in my car outside the ER. Mrs. L.A. may have a problem with her appendix. No visitors.
I hope she’s okay, Johnny_L.A
I see someone in Maryland won last night’s $730 million Powerball jackpot. The only Maryland-er I know is FairyChatMom. Was it you, FCM?
I wish. But since I didn’t buy a ticket, it’s highly unlikely that I won. Of course, I haven’t heard from my daughter this morning…
Listening to NPR this morning, and my heart was filled to bursting. So many nice things to hear, as opposed to the unmitigated shitstorm of the past few years.
Please, never stop sharing your app’s wisdom with us. This one has been my favorite so far.
Okay, off to watch more Netflix (almost through “Weeds” now!) and finish - I hope - this #%! tub fix. I have someone coming by today, and I'd like for the crew they're selecting from to be scampering about on fresh, clean bedding. (They want a couple girls as pets, to keep a male mouse company. ASF cannot interbreed with mice, or rats, and since male mice are little #!tkickers who often wind up housed alone, it’s becoming a thing to get a few ASF ladies as companions. They live out their lives as pampered vestal virgins while Mr. Mouse is freed from a miserable life in solitary confinement.)
Mrs. L.A. is in the hospital with acute appendicitis and needs surgery today. She sent me home. She’ll call me when she goes into surgery and when she comes out, and I’ll bring her her hair brush and phone charger when she’s recovering.
Sending positive vibes for Mrs LA, flyboy - hope surgery goes quickly and efforlessly for her (and you!).
Holy cow! I hope she recovers very, very quickly. Let us know how she is.
This morning has been somewhat productive, which is unusual and nice. I’ve slogged through another couple hundred pages of regs, dragged my sorry butt to and from a few meetings and downed enough coffee to wake a sloth.
I’m so grateful for the successful inauguration. It’s sunny and bright and beautiful outside and I would love to go for a walk. I’m hoping my meetings slow down and I have the motivation to get out after the meeting I’m on right now ends. I keep having to pull pointy-headed (Dilbert reference) manager BS, which I HATE. Ah, well - guess that’s part o’ the job.
Yikes, Johnny _L.A. Fingers crossed for an easy and uneventful surgery and quick recovery for Mrs. L.A.
