Happy Hump Day!
Looks like it may rain today. Gonna be hot too.
Been up since something like 4am, the dog was up all night pacing and panting. Of course now that I have to irk he is snoring away.

What she said.
Pretty much the same here.
Surprise, surprise, surprise! While I was taking the trash and recycling, the septic tank guys showed up. So much for “Some time after noon.” Luckily I didn’t plan to do my other errands at the same time. I’ll take care of them once these guys are done.
But that means I can pick up my own offer package, so yay for that! Gotta let my sweetie know he doesn’t have to do it for me after all.
Whew - hot and sweaty and so much more to do. Going back to work will surely be more relaxing…
It is a Blurf Plague.
And so the Zombie Apocalypse begins…
I’ve had lunch. I’ve run some errands. I’ve changed into more presentable clothes, and in a little bit, I’ll be heading down to my future employer’s office to pick up my offer package. I’ll probably stay there to read it over and sign what needs to be signed. And that will be that… till my first day. Oh, and till my drug test.
How long have you been Retired, part I, Mooom?
Hump day, things are smoothing out.
**Red **- I retired at the end of July in 2011. I worked about 6 months from late 2012 to March 2013, then from Sep 2013 to Mar 2014, but both were temp jobs, which suited me at the time. This gig is supposedly full-time, permanent, but I can’t imagine working more than 4 years, and most likely less. We shall see.
And on that note, I’m going to head down to the office and make it official.
Howdy from da cave! One more day of irk has been survived! YAY! Sketties and meatballs for dindin tonight. I took the skettie sauce and meatballs outta da freezer this mornin’ and both are thawed. In a bit I shall boil up some angel hair pasta (ok, they ain’t skettie noodles, but we like angel hair), toast up some garlic bread and dump bag sallit into a couple of bowls. Voila! Eyetalian night at da cave.
**swampy **- I prefer angel hair also - I like the finer pasta - it’s all I’ll buy.
I’ve got my offer letter and package o’info. Much of it was dead-tree versions of the stuff I filled out on line last night. But everything is now signed and ready to go back. I’ll get Steve to drop it off tomorrow.
My start dated is Sep 21, which I figured it would be. I get a whopping 2 weeks of vacation a year (ugh) plus 10 Federal holidays, and 1 week of sick leave per year. The only thing I didn’t have info on was the 401k, altho I think they gave a website - I need to go back and look at that. There was tons of insurance info, none of which I need, since I have all our insurance thru my retirement. On my first day, I need to take my passport to prove I’m a 'murrican. I report to the main office at 8 and they said it’ll take at least 2 hours to inprocess. I assume I’ll then be taken to meet my supervisor on base and see where I’ll be working.
The headhunter called me a little bit ago wanting to know if I know of any other drafters looking for work. I’ll ask FCD, but I don’t know any. It’s not like I belong to a drafter lodge or anything.
Supper will be either Hamburger Helper, or something out if **FCD **is buying. We shall see.
I am not the gourmet that you are, swampy, but at least I did remember to haul the Hamburger out of the Freezer before I left for irk today (forgot three weeks running). So it’s Cheeseburger and Sweet Corn tonight.
Otherwise, just a bumpity-scumipty Hump-ity Day.

Work was irksome. But only two days till a day off.

Congrats on being unretired-ish, Moooommmmm!!!
I like angel hair better than spaghetti too.
However, I usually buy rotini or shells, then I can use a spoon and get lots of sauce in each bite.
So all you homeowners, I need to order furnace filters. Should I order disposable or reusable?
I made myself go out for a walk today. I feel a little better now.
**sari **- I use disposable. The one time I had reusable, I decided it was too big a pain in the patoot to clean.
I’m hearing thunder - with luck, we’ll get rain tonight. So I should probably log off.
MWAH!
That’s what I was thinking, taking it outside to hose it off wouldn’t be fun in the winter. Then having to wait for it to dry, or else buying two so I can use one while the other is being cleaned.
Well, then you may be the last Mumper left. Zombies would starve looking for brains in Ar-kansas. ![]()
And I will be very surprised if someone else hasn’t already pointed that out.
Work was easy enough today and we were good enough at it that we got out an hour early. Tomorrow is a test of the plans for November and December which means basically TIME TO PANIC!!!
Howdy Y’all! After a loverly dindin of sketties 'n meatballs, sallit and garlic bread OYKW went to his place for the night to deal with paperirk stuff, poor thing. Thus, I decided to betake myself over to the church house for Evening Prayer. YPWife was there with the babbeh. He’s so keeeeeeeyooooooote! He slept through the whole thing. After church I told him that was alright cause that’s what we do while daddy preaches.
Sari I vote for disposable filters as well. Truly the re-usable kind are a PITA with which to deal.
I should be feelin’ sleepified but I’m still kinda wired. Thus I shall betake myself elsewhere on teh intarbooz for a bit.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
