April Showers bring a soggy MMP

Just arranged to have some dead trees dropped and some dropped trees cut up and flung into the woods. It was relatively cheap since they don’t have to haul the stuff away - they can just fling it all in the woods to rot. So huzzah! They’ll be here tomorrow morning.

Howdy Y’all! Today we turned the deadly sin of sloth into a fine art. Sloth with the best of 'em we can! We supped and now all is well. We got stimulused (is too a word!) today. Now to figure out what to do with our new found riches. I think maybe tomorrow we shall celebrate with take out Mexican and margaritas. OLÈ!

Nellie glad you’re feelin’ better today.

MOOOOOOM I’m all for payin’ someone to do irk like that as well. Glad RoxStar had a good bday and that all went well with the shots. Don’t be too hard on BeePa and his desire to indulge her. Granddaughters have their BeePa’s wrapped around their little fingers.

Sari I know, but like others said, it all must be explained and spelled out slowly for the stoopid amongst us.

All y’all with the icky Wintry weather stuff, well, better thee than me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Winter in April

Allergies suck butters. I’ve dealt with them since childhood. It went from weekly shots when I was little to prescription meds and now, those prescriptions are OTC. Whenever the trees are doing something spectacular, I’m wheezing.

Glad your joints are feeling better nellie.

Mooooooom, the money you paid to have someone clean up the tree debris goes back into the local economy. Good on you.

I got a lot done at irk today including discovering a breakdown in process that I’ve spearheaded the remedy for. Nelson’s restless because there were no other dogs to hang out with when we walked this afternoon. Maybe if Kobe and Snoop are out after bit, I’ll take him out again.

**Hippie **- better thee than me, for certain!

**Red **- not to mention we won’t hurt ourselves. Let them young guys do it all!

Time for evening chillage.

Evening all.

hippy, eiyiyiyiyi… I was told that there was a snowstorm in N. Ohio the day I was born in April, 1953 but I wasn’t in position to notice it. Hope it melts fast.

nellie, glad you’re feeling better.

Actually donned proper clothing (on days I’m not leaving the house, pajama bottoms and a sweatshirt are considered proper dress) to mail a couple of bills and buy dinner at Wendy’s. Garbage and recyclables have been picked up and the cans are back in garage. Figure that’s enough adultin’ for today, internettin’ and readin’ are the evening plans.

My ears and throat were hurting by the end of the day. We did have the queues down to 1400+ for part of the day, but we were back over 1700 calls waiting when I logged off for the day. Thankfully, most of the callers have been very kind about the matter.

Post got eaten. It was cold, then got warmer. Made Italian Chicken with cheesy **N.O.T.**s.

Roxy: “This is a 3 pound Napoleon smoothbore cannon. We load it with canister to keep the Heathan English off our homestead”
Teacher:

:eek::eek::eek:
Hope you have a shovel!

Nettie, feel better.

That’s not fair! You never let me have any fun. [sulks off and pouts …]

Ruble would be so proud …
Damn, now my eyes are leaking again. :frowning:

This is a full sized carronade.

I want one.

I, too, am over this patronizing bullshit and the sanctimonious spin it usually comes with. “Take this time to find inner peace! Clean your kitchen! Love your children! Call your mother! Become an expert on ancient cooking methods! Build a second, smaller house on top of your existing house! Plant a garden! Go for a run along the beach! Keep a routine! Raise fancy pigeons! Compose a symphony! Invent time travel! This doesn’t suck at all, you see- it’s actually a blessing! An opportunity! You just have to have the wisdom and perspective to see it as such! I know I, personally, will be spending this time cherishing my beautiful family, contemplating the works of James Joyce, and keeping up a rigorous workout routine in my personal luxury gym.” Yeah, bite me. It’s a problem that affects everyone, but not everyone is in the same boat here. It’s lovely to find silver linings, but it’s not wrong to acknowledge that, for the most part, this whole thing is shitty and difficult.

Anyway. Supposed to be cold tomorrow, but warm up a bit after that. I hope so. I’m desperate for some open-window time and some air.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 80 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. OYKW has a doc appointment this mornin’ poor thing. I shall betake myself to the Harvey’s Sto’ to procure some of the ribs they are advertisin’ as on sale. If they have any decent ones, I may also buy a bunch of collard greens as I have a kinda gnawin’ and cravin’ for some greens. We shall purchase sup from the Mexican place. OLÈ! That shall be the excitatement here in caveland for the day.

Dots personally I am usin’ this time to recreate The Hangin’ Gardens of Babylon in my back yahd. Been meanin’ to do that for some time now. Maybe I’ll even add a second story to da cave. See, quarantine ain’t all that bad!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, since I am to go about the public, I suppose I shall have to purtify and don appropriate adult clothin’. Woe, despair, and bother!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Morning, mumpers! Yesterday was definitely our last day of N.O.S. Today is grey and gloomy, it’s cold and windy so although we have the windows open for some fresh air, it’s not as pleasant an experience as it was before.

In other news, my new vacuum cleaner arrived this morning so I will be unpacking that later. The box is standing in the hallway at the moment, waiting for any imported coronavirus to drop off it  I’ve been working on my management project instead, I still have just over three weeks to complete it but I am back at irk on Monday so it made sense to make a start on it now. It’s not very excitipating, but it must be done in order to pass the course and get my fancy Sir Stickyfoot at the end of it.

Since the weather is not very nice, and I bizarrely have leftover mashed potato from last night’s dinner, I will spend a bit of time this afternoon making potato cakes. Mum used to make them when I was a kid, it was a treat when we got back from school in the winter and it was really cold, she’d have hot potato cakes (they’re like scones) dripping with melted butter. When I was clearing out her flat, I found the old recipe book they came from, so I brought it home with me. Today, I really feel like making some.

THIRTY-FOUR FREEKIN’ DEGREES this morning!!! Glad I don’t have to go anywhere! The tree guys won’t be here before 9, so I’ve got time to surf before my shower and attiring. Not sure what my plans are today - maybe some laundry.

Happy Firday!

Morning all. Heading for the mid-70’s F tonight, but rain is forecast for tonight. Nothing on the schedule except cleaning the house (I did start the dishwasher this morning, so there is that).

boofae, enjoy Hoovering!

flyboy, THIS is a carronade…Carronade - Wikipedia

{doggio, OW}.

Everybody take care this Firday.

First load in the dryer, second in the washer, and the tree guys just got here. Onward!!

Speaking of cannons, when FIL was very young, he built a cannon. When he lit it off, he knew you had to put your thumb over the hole. He didn’t know you were supposed to have a piece of leather between thumb and cannon. So he has half a thumb tip and a cool story to tell.

Got woken up by the torrential rain at 5am; yep, the weather’s back to normal. Went back to sleep 'cos that’s definitely too early for me (especially as I stayed up til after midnight to try watch some of the Lyrid meteor shower- saw one meteor and several little batty bats), and woke up again at 11. It would be nice if I could wake up at a sensible time instead of an assortment of silly ones.

Other’n that, I’m planning on doing a bit of baking later (gonna finally try that challah- my revived sourdough starter was demanding too much attention previously, but it can sit in the fridge for a few days now), and finish off the last-but-one Uni assignment. Nearly there, though it’s writing up a survey of the beekeepers, and I was s’posed to be having a phone chat with one- the lady who ran the group for years, but despite repeatedly saying yes, of course, she’s just not got back to me. No idea what she’s doing, she’s well over 70 and we’re supposed to be in lockdown, but the messages I’ve had have all been ‘Oops, sorry, I’ve been too busy to check my emails, I only just got your message, could you suggest another day?’ Oh well. She normally has more energy than me and I think she has quite a bit of land to work on, unlike me in a 1 bedroom flat…

Happy …checks… Firday!
