Packed for CoasterBash and leaving shortly. To return about 1am. This event is getting waaaaay too long for something that doesn’t involve actually riding a rollercoaster.
Up and caffeinating. Dogs are fed. Children are doing something. I’m guessing it’s video games. Husband is watching tv.
Moomm we watch Netflix a lot more than we use Amazon Prime. Even with Prime, we find that the shows on there tend to have a price. It’s very annoying.
Not sure what the day will bring. Laundry perhaps and grocery shopping. It’s cold, but I can see the sun. It’s bright, and strange.
Howdy Y’all! Been goin’ through stuff today in prep for next week’s paint marathon. Ever wonder just how it is that one seems to come into possession of one of what appears to be everything on Earth? I’ve been feelin’ like that today.
Happy Saturday!
It’s N.O.S., chilly, and a bit breezy outside today.
Nothing like the wind of yesterday.
Everything blew off my back porch yesterday, part of the stuff is on the deck, part is on the patio, and part is in the neighbor’s yard.
I always think of it as the neighbor’s patio, but a small of it is mine. About enough room to put a lawn chair.
Wasteful morning for me.
I woke at around 6, played a bit online, took my thyroid pill as it has to be taken on an empty stomach and I can’t eat or drink anything but water for an hour after taking it. Then I fell back asleep until my alarm for my other pills woke me at 10. So I got up and made breakfast and took my other pills which have to be taken with food. Then I fell back asleep until almost 2. Now I’m up and lunch is in the oven - chicken with broccoli and cheese for me, chicken condon bleu for him. I don’t know what else. Once we eat it’s time to get busy around here.
I’m surprised the dog let me sleep in that long.
Red - I am stuck with directv for another year. They did give me a good deal, but I miss cable. The other problem with switching to roku or something similar is that I have limited internet. If I go over then I have to pay more, when I first got directv I had it connected to the internet so I could watch ‘on demand’ and I almost went over.
Doggio - I would be more than happy to send all my sports channels to you. If I have to pay for them, somebody should be watching them.
FCM - I’m with you on the cancellation. Their power will probably be back on before they would have had to leave for the cruise.
Except for that ONE THING you desperately need, RIGHT NOW!
Today is Wifeys Birfday. She’s going to get her toes done with the GirlChild, and then when she gets back we’re having BBQed poke ribs and N.O.T* sallit.
I didn’t get her a present 'cause iffen she wants something she just buys it herself. Very frustrating, it is.
I’ve got a Roku II around here somewhere and we used to use it a lot, but our new flat screen came with a lot of that stuff built in, so It’s in the closet of misfit electronical gadgets.
*Do we still need to do that since Taters wised up and left us a long time ago?
She ain’t dead, 'cause I see her on facebook all the time.
Happy Sattiday y’all.
They canceled, despite my best efforts to talk them out of it. Their power is still out, but it’s not like they could do anything about it. I just don’t understand. And I couldn’t call to talk to Mom because she went to VOIP and got rid of her cell. Oh well, they’re adults…
Evenin’
The  snow  has given up and disappeared, probably for another decade or somethin’. Irked today instead, as I didn’t get in yesterday. Also popped in the supermarket, to discover that half the shelves were just bare. There was not a loaf in the place. One does wonder how this country coped with the blitz, given that 3" of snow, lasting two days, has apparently driven it to its knees.
The main afternoon entertainment was trying to clear a slow draining bath, and accidentally almost totally blocking it. As, this being a small flat, the bathroom, kitchen and washing machine are all on the same drain, this is a bit of a pain. I’ve tried the plunger (which is what blocked it in the first place), boiling water, a full bottle of some nasty chemical which said to wear eye protection (I don’t wear glasses, and I don’t own goggles, so I wound up wearing those 3D film glasses). All they apparently achieved was filling the bath with nasty gunk as well as water. It’s now s…l…o…w…l…y draining, but far far worse than when I started.
I’ll have to go buy one of them long bendy wire cleaner things tomorrow, assuming everyone else hasn’t already panic-bought 'em.
Would you please explain this bizarre concept “too many tootsie rolls”? I just can’t parse that phrase into anything that makes sense.
I slept into the afternoon (didn’t help that DH had disrupted sleep pretty badly early in the night), woke to what sounded like a lake or so of water coming down outside all at once. Turned out to be hail that transitioned to heavy rain. Windy now, not currently precipitating, but those clouds are dark and heavy. Very good day to stay in and be a zombie.
If you don’t mind my asking, what channels do you have set up to get without a cable subscription? DH and I have an Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Hugs to your niece.
well were waiting to see if more snow blows off the mountains as we had flurries here not much other than that and a Colombo marathon on hallmark mysteries …
A good rule of thumb is you should never eat more than your weight in tootsie rolls in a twenty-four hour period.
A healthy life style is about setting limits.
Call Ahead Seating at Texas Roadhouss ROCKS!! **FCD **had a hankerin’ for steak, so a little before 5, we called ahead. By the time we got there about 30 minutes later, their lot was full and we had to park at the Holiday Inn Express, and the lobby was jammed full. But **FCD **checked us in, and in less than 5 minutes, we were in our booth. The wait time for walk-ins was 55 minutes. So YAY!!!
Now we’re in for the evening. I’m crocheting a stuffed elephant for my future grand-nephew - my niece is having a boy a month after my daughter squeezes her kid out. Nephew-in-law has declared that their baby theme is elephants, and he’s a 'Bama fan, so I’m making a crimson elephant and a white elephant, plus I’ll make an afghan with a white elephant on a field of crimson. I want to get them all done by Easter - her shower is the Saturday after Easter, but I’m not driving to my mom’s twice in one week. Which is why I’ll be making elephants this evening. Now you know!
81 degrees Fahrenheit here in Waikiki. Soft kiss of a trade-wind breeze outside. Girls in bikinis frolicking on the beach two blocks away. But we suffer too, as it’s still dipping into the upper 60s late at night, which is brutal.
Brings to mind a line from “Miss Piggy’s Guide to Life” - never eat anything bigger than your head. Words I try to live by.
   It’s cloudy. I’m in Nowheresville. I was hoping to see tons of stars as there’s no ground/light polution, but there’s clouds.
Oh well, off to dinner at some bar/tavern in the area. I think I’ll use the eeney-meeney-miney-moe method to choose which one.
swampy, I realized that I had a whole buncha stuff when I began sorting and packing to move.
Happy birthday Mrs. Bumba!
nettie, I get the History channel, Smithsonian, Food, TLC and a few that I rarely watch as well as all of the local ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and Fox networks, which is important since NBC and PBS broadcast from Knob Hill in Nashville and you don’t get them over the air until you get up to the Cumberland Plateau or about fifty miled west of town. Even when I lived within five miles of the stations, I needed cable to get them.
SIL threw her back out today and canceled going to see the musical. I cleaned up the patio and yard this morning, then went shopping for shoes and PJs this afternoon. Since I had originally planned on eating out, I picked up a really good salad to go.
Watching Supernatural from the first episode with the family. They look like such babies!
We had fresh yellowtail snapper fried, French fries and cole slaw. Was yummy.
Sunny the Sat hours are 9 til 1 instead of the weekday hours of 0830 til 5. I would rather take the shorter day. Moandays are the busiest day of the week so she can handle that. She is much faster than me since I am not supposed to be acting as a clerk and am rusty. I really need to light a fire under the ass of HR to get me some candidates to interview.
A good friends brother died so we will have a house guest starting tomorrow for a few days so I must clean tomorrow. No rest for the weary.
Wait…does a pizza count?
Well, if I had eaten all that I wanted too, they would have thrown me out of the auditorium.
Decided at the last minute (after waking from nappage) to go out for steak tonight, but Outback, Texas Roadhouse, and Longhorn were all packed, so I ended up at 5 Guys (that’s sorta like steak, isn’t it?). Need to start thinkin’ ahead.
May a weird holy man light a Roman candle in your pants.
May a diseased yak squat in your hot tub.
May a carsick mongoose change the color of your seats.
I did find out that a Dodge Durango will hold 27 athletic equipment bags full of soccer equipment. Impressive.
