Are we planning summer vacation in the MMP?

Those TV packages suck, whether cable or satellite. We watch maybe 2 or 3 channels on one tier, but we watch them a LOT, so getting rid of that tier would really suck. I need to look into cutting the cable - see if what we like is available on streaming.

I just looked at a website that tracks ships - there are 32 at anchor in the Bay because the channel between the bay and the ocean is closed. And 2 more are at anchor outside the bay. Ain’t no way the cruise ship is getting in tomorrow morning. Heck, once the channel is open, it’s going to take hours and all the available pilots to clear the backlog. So much for that 12-night Caribbean cruise…

In happier news - pizza for supper! It should show up within the hour.

We have supped. All is well.

We are supping - pizza got here lots faster than promised. Yay!

As least the bay isn’t frozen, I remember that year.
That would surely be more than a one day delay for a ship.

C-Band sounds like something I would have liked - Flytrap.
Too bad it didn’t work out.

Ripple and I had the rest of the chicken and cabbage for dinner.
Adam begged for and got a little piece of chicken, which I am surprised he ate since it was a bit spicy.

Still windy. Windy, windy, windy. Aren’t y’all supposed to have the wind? How dare there be weather in more than one place at once? :stuck_out_tongue:

I just did the cable song and dance. I would be happy to switch back to DirecTV. They were much cheaper than Comcast. Some channels I could just pay extra to add, or if they were part of a tier instead of a premium, then the cost to add them was just $5. I used them in Missouri and never had any issues with outages, so I’m not worried about that. The problem is that Comcast is the only provider of internet around here that is worth having, and my husband works from home, so he needs reliable internet. I couldn’t find a good way to put a package together that made it cost effective to switch just the cable. I’m not happy about it. I may try again later.

Home. Looks like meatloaf just was not in the cards. Making burgers instead since that is easier, quicker and less clean up. All I gotta do is make the patties and hubs will grill the burgers. I am such a slacker anymore.

Back to irk tomorrow. On Saturday. This is just not right. One girl quit and I was not sorry to see her go and the other is on maternity leave. So that leaves me with one clerk and me. The one clerk just refuses to irk on the weekend and I really need her throughout the week so I get the pleasure. Gonna try to make a full day as I am off on Moanday. Rescheduled my hair appt for 3 on Moanday.

I took beano. [sup]TM[/sup]

metal mouse, it already is tornado season here in the midsouth. NWS confirms tornado touched down in Robertson County | ClarksvilleNow.com This is just two counties north and west of where I live.

Moooooom, sari, since you have wifi, may I suggest a Roku? I get ~25 stations over the air (and this is in hilly terrain) and a whole bunch more with the Roku stick. I can watch PBS and NBC (their local affiliates broadcast over the top of my town), History, Smithsonian, Food, etc. with my internet connection.

I knocked off around one today, went to the county clerk’s office down the street to renew my two months expired driver’s license. Oops! I found out what my raise would be and got an extra bonus in my paycheck as well. Tomorrow, SIL and I will go to see a live production of Singing in the Rain in my old hometown. I do need to clean up the patio this weekend in preparation for putting out the herb garden and having smokers as houseguests.

I have Roku but it hasn’t impressed me. I may have to look again - it’s been a while since I used it.

As with everything else, it is about Making Money.

What happens if you tell her that her new shift is Tuesday to Saturday? Would you miss her if she left? I’m thinking if you’re the boss, she’s the one that has to adjust to the new world order. I suppose you could be really nice and let her have one Saturday a month or something.

I just spent $400 on hoes.*

Assuming they can get to the dock at all.

“T.G.I.F.” is a meaningless concept for me.

OOOO! Vegas is fun. Or as least as far as I vauguly remember.

Can I have your sports?

*OK, a vacuum hose and a new battery.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 40 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 68 and N.O.S. for the day. Plus a “pollen alert.” Today we shall get stuff out of closets. The dinin’ room has been designated as the place for closet stuff to reside until the closets are painted. The bedrooms get painted next week startin’ on Tuesday. I am assured they will be done by Thursday evenin’. We shall see. I’m just glad to get this all started. Rah. Oh and burgers for suppage along with N.O.T. sallit. Fun times ahead.

doggie sounds like maybe the repairs on Volvo were not that bad mayhaps?

MOOOOOOM here’s hopin’ your mom and sis can make it to their cruise today even though it looks like that probably won’t happen.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work.

swampy, no. But a gang of sloths could have gotten it moved and fixed faster.
ETA: Today is my Firday.

The wind was still roaring like crazy when I went to bed, but things have calmed considerably. It’s still windy, but not loud windy, just cold windy. But I have leftover pizza for breakfast, so there’s that.

Last night, I decided to scroll thru my Roku options and there seems to be more crap than anything else available - movies I never heard of starring people I never heard of on several of the feeds. To get to the feeds I want, I’d have to provide the name of my cable provider and register for an account - so it looks like I couldn’t get rid of cable anyway. I am considering getting rid of Netflix and going to Amazon Prime instead - we shall see. Life was so much easier when all you had was an antenna on the roof and maybe 6 channels to choose.

**FCD **was surfing Craigslist last night and came across a rather nice-looking crib and changing table for what seems to be a good price. We’re going to check it out tomorrow. It’s not exactly what the kids wanted, but like Mick says

Other than that, just the usual weekend crap - laundry, cleaning the critter fountain, more work on the baby’s room.

Happy Saturday!

My mom and sis are planning to cancel their cruise if they can get a refund due to the weather. Their main concern is that there’s still no power at their house and my BIL was supposed to stay there to tend to my sisters animals. No power at BIL’s place either, so he can’t even take them with him. I think they’re overreacting for the moment, but it’s not my call. They need to find out when the ship will show up and see if power returns in the interim.

We shall see what happens.

Morning all. No wind in N. Ali-bama, thankfully. It’s actually rather sunny out, albeit in the 40’s this morning.

Spent most of the afternoon Firday at the Home and remodeling show in Huntsville, collecting information and brochures from a variety of companies. Picked up some good info, I think, but won’t be using it until August. Lots of companies had candy jars, so I probably ate way too many tootsie rolls, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do…

Todays’ mission is to put the second row of seats down in the car and collect bags of soccer balls for the Spring; being the division ‘coordinator’, I get the joy of getting enough bags and distributing them to the coaches. Given I have 3 divisions to manage, that should total about 24-25 bags of soccer balls…oh joy.

But first I need to forage for breaklunch.

Mooooom, while there is stuff you have to have access to a cable subscription to watch, most of the channels that I watch just require signing up online. I don’t watch a lot of movies not available on Netflix (which I have set up on Roku), so that isn’t as important to me. The channels that I set up are similar to a cable/satellite selection. YT and Hulu (the free section) both offer movies to supplement Netflix’ offering.

Breakfasted, caffeinated, KP done, towels in the dryer, puppy crate cleaned and the dog walked. We ran into one of the night shift neighbors coming home from work while we were out. We talked for a bit and Nelson got skritches. My niece called and told me that she was having one of her pooches put down today. :frowning: Mojo was about 13 and a GSD/chow mix. He had surgery a couple of months ago for hip displasia. It wasn’t helping and he was sill in severe pain, so she had to make that difficult decision.

Now I need to put on the grubbies and go out to clean the patio and yard.

Amazingly, the ship made it to Baltimore an it’s departing tonight. My mother and sister are going to cancel because the power is still out at the house and the food in the freezer might go bad. Because if they stay home, they can clean out the freezer sooner??? I don’t get it. I told them to go. They won’t listen to me.

The baby’s room is now ready for painting. I’ve still got a little more to clear out of the other bedroom. Slowly but surely…

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I coined a new index yestidy. You know what the Waffle House Index is, right? Well the Wawa index tells how bad a storm is iffn one needs to pass 3 (three) consecutive Wawa’s that are closed because of lack of power.

Also, the Maul was closed, so no free Chik-Fil-A, Plan B was Mickey D’s, but passed a number of them that were powerless, too. When I finally found an had 'lectricity, it was closed because of undergoing renovations. :smack: Some 'za (not in the car) was dinner @ 9:45.
