I am so excitated y’all! Paintin’ of the bedrooms shall start Tuesday next week. That should get knocked out in a couple of days, three max. After that comes everything else over the course of well, a while. We can deal with rooms bein’ in disarray one at a time as in the end da cave will be f-aaaaaa-bu-lous! I may even bother to learn how to take pics and post.
ETA: First on three! NEENER! NEENER! NEENER! Spidey
**swampy **- are you getting rid of bathtubs or just adding walk-in showers? I only ask because some mortgage lenders require that there be at least one bathtub in any house they finance, so it could be tough selling a place with no tub. In our master bath, we had a shower stall the size of a phone booth, but we enlarged it to the footprint of a tub - it’s nice! The tub is in the guest bathroom, so we’ll be good should we decide to sell. (HAH! RIGHT!)
Work day is winding down. I’m struggling with my attitude - can you imagine?
I tried a new chicken recipe tonight, not bad but I used too much siracha
I think putting the chicken on a roll with a little mayo will take care of the heat.
Sat out front trimming up the crepe myrtle trimmings so they would fit in the leaf bag.
One of the neighbors I don’t know, but she knew my name, came over to ask about the jeep parked in front of her house. I have no idea who it belongs to, but I have a feeling a parking war is about to erupt. She has a baby and from the looks of it she is pregnant again and she wants to park in front of her house. Her neighbor also has a baby and they both feel that people should have some respect for them and park elsewhere. The duplex up from them just sold and the new owner is replacing the sidewalk, there are big hunks of concrete in there and nobody can park in those two spots. It’s been that way for a few weeks so you’d think the city would be on them to clean up the mess.
Of course it’s a public street and anybody can park anywhere.
I’m so glad I can park out back and don’t have to deal with any of this crap.
Your planned renovations sound nice Swampy.
I need stuff done here, but I can only afford so much at a time.
Still raining here in N. Ali-bama. Spent the whole day inside (well, I did step out to get the paper and the mail). I’m getting a whiff of a strange smell as I sit by the computer and besides hoping it isn’t me, trying to figure out where it is coming from.
Butters, glad the vacuum wasn’t required.
Nut, watched soccer from London this afternoon (evening your location) and they had a pretty good snow storm going. Maybe the worst just slid by you.
Sari, with a 2-car garage and driveway I don’t have to engage in parking wars anymore…when I lived in apartments way back when, it was a different matter…
doggio, whatever’s wrong with the Volvo, I hope that it doesn’t cost much.
swampy, no frescos painted in the new decoratin’?
I haven’t had to deal with parking wars for a lot of years. There is usually plenty of parking available at this apartment and my last one had assigned spots. The only trouble I ever had then was when a visitor would snag my spot.
I got a lot accomplished today. Yay for EoM! I need to call Sis tonight to see what days she and BIL will be here. I have stuff going on both weekends, so we’ll have to work around that.
So I tried use my roadside assistance to get my cat towed. 6 hours later(and a claim it could get done for extra cash:dubious::mad:), I paid my usual tow service to get it towed in. It’ll get looked at tomorrow. Making mesquite chicken with smoked paprika rice, and green beans with bacon and pepper. Back to work tomorrow.
Butters ,yay for no nose hoover!
swampy, light gray in the bedrooms will make the gold lamé curtains pop.
sari , the only parking wars I had to deal with were the 420 people squatting in the back lot. Walking a 60lbs JRT and a 180lbs. GSD in from of them could get them to skedaddle quick.
Our bedroom and the lower half of the master bath is a pale gray but I’m tired of it. Dunno what I want instead - when I decide, I’ll paint. First, I need to decide what color the baby’s room will be and get that done.
Iffn one has a usual tow service, may I suggest thinin’ ‘bout gettin’ a better car…unless you keep callin’ these guys & a tow truck shows up. :dubious:  :smack:
TBMK, he doesn’t have gold lamé curtains, what he has is a gold lamé thong, &, well, now I need to go buy a palletful of brain bleach in the handy 55 gallon drum size. ::shudder::
I’ve wasted hours today, refreshing upon refreshing & constantly checking email hoping for a lottery win I didn’t get. No NYC Marathon for me this year.
OK, so I really don’t understand- if you see me running it’s because I’m trying to catch a bus or something, but still…
The ants have got their skis back out this morning, and the beetles are starting to check if they still have that old sledge in the garage; white stuff is actually sticking and maaaaybe building up a little.
It actually might get a little interesting for me tomorrow, if it does amount to anything today; getting to irk involves a few steep hills and some tiny winding back roads, and if it’s at all icy, they get fun.
My moronic misogynist housemate is pissing me off today. He accused our other housemate of being a “slut” because she paid for a motel room to sleep with her boyfriend. He doesn’t allow her to bring her boyfriend home, even though he has no authority over her. He’s just a revolting idiot, too dumb to realise just how stupid he is.
Good mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy (well, dark, but TWPTB say it’s cloudy so I’ll believe ‘em) with a predicted high of 82 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon/evenin’. A cool front is movin’ in with tonight’s low bein’ 49 Amurrkin and a high for tomorrow of <snerk> 69! <snerk> We shall see. No big plans on the agenda for today other than boxin’ up some knickknacks in the bedrooms and study just to get ‘em out of the way for next week. I think I shall also go ahead and take all the pictures down as well. The dinin’ room will be lovely with pictures and boxes of knickknacks all over the place but it’s the best place to put it all as it’ll all be out of the way. Oh well, the dinin’ room is used for company as we always eat in the breakfast area of the kitchen when it’s just us. I shall make fried chikin tenders for suppage along with whatever side matter I decide.
Butters yay for a good report from the doc!
Sari it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a good parkin’ war. I think you should start a neighborhood bettin’ pool.
Spidey I do not own a gold lame thong. How passé! Mine is silver and chartreuse stripped.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Nothing like getting stuck on a narrow, dark road with no way to pass the idiot ahead who feels compelled to drive below the speed limit - great way to start the day! And on top of that, I couldn’t remember if today is Wednesday or Thursday.
I didn’t pack a lunch because Thursday is free lunch day, but as I was driving in, my brain is nagging “Is it Thursday? Is it Wednesday? Did you just leave home without lunch?” Needless to say, I’m relieved that it is, in fact, Thursday. I need a weekend soon, if not sooner.
The day can only get better, right? Happy Thursday!
Y’all know I count on you to let me know what day it is, right?
Don’t confuse me** FCM**
It’s a bit overcast and 45 degrees outside. It’s supposed to rain.
Of course it is since I have to go out today for a doctor appointment.
I slept pretty well last night, which is a nice change.
The cat woke me a little early, with loud pitiful cries. You’d have thought he was dying.
The weather is nice and he wants to be outside.
If I put his food bowl outside he’d probably stay out all the time, and every cat in the neighborhood would be stopping by.
A pool could be cool Swampy. My money would be on the pregnant woman.
Truth be told though, I dont know most of my neighbors. I know the woman next door in the other half of the duplex. I know the neighbor next to her. I know her name and her dog’s name, I recognize her bf (aging hippie with long grey ponytail) but don’t know his name.
I kind of know the people on the other side of me, although I don’t know their names.
I know which one is Jimmy, because A) he is super hot, (but only because he is still young and the drinking hasn’t caught up with him yet) B) he is very friendly, and C) when the downstairs people moved in they were always screaming for him to unlock the door. I know his gf, but I don’t know her name, and if she has a bunch of what I suspect is her family over, all the women look like clones and I can’t tell them apart. I know her son’s name, but he’s a kid and I’d never be able to pick him out of a lineup because all kids look alike to me.
There’s another man who stays there sometimes and I recognize him, but only because he looks a lot like one of my ex-bfs. We wave at each other, but I have no idea what his name is.
I have no idea who the nextdoor downstairs tenants are or what they look like.
