Are we planning summer vacation in the MMP?

doggio, I know cats are stubborn, but to go to those lengths…or maybe it was this cat: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/tractors/images/1/18/Caterpillar_Challenger_85_crawler_tractor_-_P6160017.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20110712204014

58F and still rainy this morning. Dryer weather is coming tomorrow, but the temperature is down in the 50’sF range.

Got a repair guy coming over to take care of a few leftover things from the Great Leak of 2018. Hopefully that will be that.

Sari, I know my neighbors on one side, we’ve both lived here for many years so it’s hard to not know them (and they are real good people). There is a Russian couple catty-corner from me and the other houses across the street and on the other side of my house are rentals and people there seem to come and go before I can get to meet them.

FCM, I just heard the garbage truck outside, so never fear, it is Thursday.

Batboy, some folks need a clue. Sounds like he needs it delivered with a 2 x4. The young lady was most circumspect, he needs to button his lip.

Well, I just saw a mouse with a snowboard scurry past!

I went out to get supplies before, because I was  out of wine  and one can’t be having that if one’s going to be stuck in due to snow. Even if it is a pathetic amount, at least there’s a thin layer of white, rather than plain green.

I’m trying to catch up a bit with skool stuff, and I’m boooooored. Could walk to the pub, but it’s cold and I don’t have good cold gear.

Blurf Howdy and happy March. I am engrossed in the end of month/first of month stuff.

**sari **- I’m worse than you regarding neighbors. I know the guy next door is Ben, but I wouldn’t recognize him away from home. His wife’s name is Tiffany, but I only know that because we got their mail once. I think she has brown hair.

The lady kitty-corner from us does day care, and I see her waiting for the school bus, but I don’t know her name. There’s another woman with big blond hair who walks regularly - we’ll say hi if I’m gardening, but that’s it. And I recognize another woman who walks her dog - mostly because I recognize the dog.

That’s it. But the houses here are pretty far apart - all lots are 3 acres or bigger - and when we first moved here, we worked all the time. I’m not anti-social - it’s just hard when no one seems to leave their houses.

Lunch has been ingested. I’ve made the reservations for Grandbaby visit, and my daughter just informed me they’re guessing she may deliver a week earlier than originally predicted… But I had a nice conversation with the manager at the hotel - we share the same first name, spelled the same, so I know she’s honest. Better for the baby to be early than late, since late will start running into UCF graduation time.

I don’t know if I mentioned, but one of my sisters will be going with me. She and I shared a room for 18 years, but that ended 45 years ago. So this will be interesting. She used to walk and talk in her sleep.

Meanwhile, I’m ready for today to be over.

We did Trimpers as part of last years DAFE (dark-ride club) convention. I got to say I have never been a beach person at all (VA etc) but OC and Trimpers was really a ton of fun. If you go there the best breakfast and lunch place is the Frog Bar ------ fantastic food!

Did you overlook this, Ruble?

They did the lottery yesterday, results weren’t on their site until after 10pm; I got the email from them at 11:55pm - technically, they made their [url=https://www.tcsnycmarathon.org/plan-your-race/run-in-2018/2018-tcs-new-york-city-marathon-drawing[goal].

My understanding is that they accept roughly ⅓ of the 150,000 entries in each of three (roughly equal) categories -
[ul]
[li]NY Metro area, [/li][li]rest of USA, [/li][li]rest of world[/li][/ul]
& had two weeks from entry submission to drawing day. Ya think they’d have it done earlier as it shouldn’t be that hard to do given all submissions are electronic, meaning a program should select the entries, not someone pulling names out of a hat.

We kinda have parking wars here too. Folks are only allowed to park on one side of our street, unfortunately our side. We don’t usually get involved, as our driveway is big enough for our 3 vehicles, if we do it right. But it gets kinda annoying when I want to get the old pickup out and need to move the Hyundai to do it, and also on garbage day. I don’t like having to leave our garbage cans* in the driveway on account of having no place to put them.

Helpful household hint: It is indeed possible to reheat leftover pizza in a frying pan, but you need to do it over low heat and you need to keep an eye on it or you will get a rock-hard piece of pizza-like material.

Great Og, my life is boring!

  • We have one garbage type garbage can, which goes every week, and one yard debris can and a recycle can, which go on alternate weeks. So in the summertime we always have 2 cans to go out, and in the winter, sometimes 2 and sometimes only one.

Home from the doctor.

Ripple wasn’t too happy about me leaving without him.
He’s been pretty bouncy since I’ve been home.

Shar pei aren’t like normal dogs. When you come home they don’t jump and whine and cry.
With Mackie I’d get a little tail wag and a nose bump.
Ripple will come out to greet me and then run back to the house. Then, because I move too slowly he will come back and bite my ankles to speed me up. Then he’ll run back to the house and turn around and look at me like what is taking you so long?. Repeat as needed until I get in the house.

I brought hamburgers home for lunch.

So after I get in and we eat, my son tells me that Ripple brought him the mail since I wasn’t here.
Or so he thought.
Ripple did give him one piece of mail.
He hid the rest behind the end table and brought it out to me.
Being that the two pieces he brought me were from the IRS, I hope he hasn’t hidden any other mail around the house.
I never know what is going on in that dog’s head.

Ripple cracks me up!!!

Home, tahred, glad the day is over, gladder that tomorrow is Firday.

Last of the sloppy joes for supper. That’s all I’ve got.

:stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t spend nearly enough time on a treadmill or in yoga class to be a first place trophy wife.

You’re ahead of me - I’ve *thought *about taking a yoga class, but I don’t believe thinking about it counts for much.

It didn’t take long to ingest our supper sammiches. The rest of the evening will be dedicated to sluggage.

We supped upon fried chikin tenders, baby lima beans, and rice ‘n gravy. ‘Twas nummy. It’s rainin’ off and on and is supposed to be stormy this evenin’. We shall see. Fine by me if’n it does cause we’re inside for the night. I even closed the garage door already.

Home finally and tahred. The executive decision has been make that if I must irk on Sat then I shall be off Sunday and Moanday. Works for me.

I had big plans to make a meatloaf but now hubs is going to cook spaghetti. Works for me. I could just go to bed right now without anything but if he’s cooking I am eating.

Thursday Blurfage.

sari, it sounds like Ripple is doing well in his training. Nelson would just eat the mail (he’s like that with paper). :stuck_out_tongue:

Most of the neighbors that nod or speak to are because they see me out with Nelson. Nothing like a dog to draw attention to yourself. :stuck_out_tongue:

Worked, came home. Waiting to hear from the shop.:dubious: The Leafs might win a Cup before I get this fixed. Getting ready to watch the Canes game.

Sari, Gordie wil poke herd me, if I’m taking too long to get to the door to walk him.

FCM ,but does she use coasters in her sleep?

Spidey, sorry you didn’t win the marathon lottery. Maybe you could do something equally painful, instead(like talk to Flytrap;):stuck_out_tongue: )

When one finishes a marathon, one has a sense of accomplishment, & frequently gets a finisher’s medal; however, that is not the same thing as a medal for bravery in the face of the enema.
Saw some amazing (2300 yo) soldiers stand at perfect attention & not move a muscle; this made me want Chinese fud, & I was even parked two blocks from the edge of Chinatown, but then the heavy rain started so I came home…to find what I was going to have for dinner was et by someone else.

I trust everyone is aware of this site.

Spidey, I hope to see the whole army of Terra-cotta soldiers this summer in China; looking forward to it.

Had a big bowl of sallit and tomatoes for dinner, and went to a soccer meeting. Exciting life, ain’t it?

I hope that I’ve cut the last check for getting my house in order from the Great leak of 2018, now to get the paperirk together and see if the Insurance company will pay me some of that back.

Butters, hang in there.

Bookmarked.

Authentic weather is a much better app (iffn you don’t mind every forecast having an “F” word in it).

I saw one of each member of the army, but only one per MOS before it moves on.
