I owe you.
OH, i found it. It’s the intuitive and self-explanatory “Sultantheme’s R” button. Choose “the other” choice, also self-explanatory and intuitive.
It wasn’t broke and didn’t need fixin’
Exactly how I feel.
Not my experience at all. It took a little getting used to but I find it better on the iPhone yes the old one.
It’s clearly very much device dependent. I have an iPhone SE, and it looks like shit vertical or horizontal.
Here is this thread horizontal. I can read like fucking 8 lines at a time. And the last line is cluttered up with the forum change drop-down menu.
Here it is with the old skin. I can actually follow a conversation now.
Here it is vertical. What in God’s name is that? Lines cut off at the end everywhere. Weird column spacing there so there’s a gutter on the right for who knows what reason. No poster info on the right, either.
Old version. Now there ya go. I can see a good bit of the thread. If I have trouble reading, I can zoom in with the pinch gesture. Much better. No lines cut off. All poster information is there. Great.
Yeah I could go either way on my computer in its bugs worked out new form but also see the new as nearly unusable on my iPhone - such as no option showing to go to last post or who was the last post. Big deal excited to return to old on the mobile device.
And now no having to remember to unclick the show your signature box each time!
Switched it to old because I use my PC to read more often but I have to admit the new style was much better on my phone which I believe was the goal.
New. After a week or so, I don’t even remember what the old looked like, and the tweaks they made were never enough to anger me anyway. I like having the location and post count right there on the person’s post, and I like the arrow that brings me to the top of the page. And I can actually read it on my iPhone now; was a pain in the arse before, and I hated Tapatalk.
New. Not a big fan but I’m adjusting and learning to like some parts of it.
Wait, I can use the old? New right now, old in 5 seconds.
I have a 6s plus so that probably makes a big difference.
Old. Glad to see the SDMB reacts to change the same way I do.
I’m using the old style.
I gave the new style a good try, but it just wasn’t the same. So I went back to the old style. I don’t look at the SDMB on mobile devices (unless my laptop, which goes with me everywhere, counts as a “mobile device,” which I suspect it does not), so I’m happy being able to switch back. Thanks!
The Greasemonkey scripts I use, that WierdAaron made back in the day, only work with the old style, so I turned back, even though I was enjoying BigT’s improvements to the new style and was all ready to suggest minor tweaks to it to modernise-but-not-alienate.
I am not opposed to a new theme that works properly, especially in a contemporary style, but I so dearly love the aforementioned Greasemonkey scripts, they’d definitely need to come along with it.
I’m rollin’ again with the old.
I usually like change, am an early adopter (I’ll be upgrading to iOS 11 as soon as it’s available today), but it’s gotta be good change. That theme was not good.
Thank you! I didn’t know I could go back to the old style. Much better!!!
I use the olde style, but check back with the new to see how it’s going.
Spent too long fixing up the new style myself to use the old one.
If you change your default style in your User CP > Editor Options, that wouldn’t be a problem.
I actually tried using that as a way to detect what forum theme you were using, but found out it didn’t work. Neither does the cookie. It seems it is stored server side.
