Arnold, Cyclists and Hamantaschen - A Signs of Spring MMP

Both… Departing from BWI, and coming back through DCA. Thank Og for rental cars.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 70 degrees Amurrkin out but really cloudy and stormy feelin’. Rain would be good. We got some yestiddy. The high shall be around 78 with tstorms forecasted. There was some severe weahter all around last night with reports of tornados north of da cave. Fine by me if’n it storms as long as it’s not tornadoy storms. I need to defilthyfy da cave this afternoon.

Have a safe trip BBBobbio.

I need more caffiene and then consider what to feed rumbly tummy for brekkie. Maybe I need to be taken out for brekkie. Of course that would mean roustin’ OYKW outta bed and us gettin’ purtified for deheathenization first.

Later Y’all!

Well, crap - now it’s sticking to the driveway. Stoopit snow.

Awake…

Off in search of breakfast.

Hugs.

The pub crawl wasn’t too bad in the end, the first pub was a very strange place and the last one was pure Royston Vasey. The kind of pub where the locals look at you funny and you wonder if you’ll make it out in one piece.

Still, it was ok but I won’t be rushing to do it again. We finished up back in town and went to our favourite rock pub 'cos it’s open until 3am. Came home and attempted to watch a film but we both fell asleep on the sofa instead.

Am off to drink tea and then weed the front garden borders as a step towards recovery.

I know, right? I bought a two-pack of the halogen light bulbs the other day to replace burned out bulbs in the bedroom and kitchen overhead lights. Yesterday I noticed that the light over the stove was out so I had to use one of the bulbs to replace that one (we use that one more than the overhead). Now I have to get another two-pack.

Culinary Boy declared We Need A Mattress Pad yesterday because he couldn’t sleep on his stomach on New Bed. So we went to the Linen Sto’. King mattress pads are expensive! So we went across the parking lot to the Big Lots Sto’. King mattress pads are not so expensive.

Speaking of, he’s working today since Sundays are Housekeeping Hell days (everybody and their second cousin checks out). Actually, he just called me to tell me he has nine checkouts to clean. That’s a lot–checkouts have to have everything cleaned. He’s still getting used to his schedule so he’s grumpy on toast. Meanwhile, I get a day to myself! Except that Computer Boy is here, but he’s sleepin’ so he doesn’t count.

Good morning all! I’m up and caffeinating, today with -sugar- in my cup. LOL I normally use the sugar substitute truvia (the only one I can tolerate, apparently!) but decided that since it was Sunday I’d treat myself to real sugar. Ya know what? It tastes a bit too sweet for me now! Strange. :frowning:

There is no snow on the ground where I live–I know some fell but I guess it just didn’t stick. It is, however, very chilly this am - 34 degrees F! I’m looking forward to that 60-70 degree weather now, come on.

Hope everyone enjoys a relaxing Sunday.

I got this in my e-mail while I was deheathenating, and immediately thought of LiLi and Gnat…

No internet for TWO DAYS!!! Wah! Thank Og for smart phones. Tech coming between now and noon.

Picture if you will an ice rink - the size hockey is played upon. They range in size from 145’X65’ to 200’X85’ depending upon the league Now, picture that rink divided into thirds along the length - three aisles with itty-bitty booths lining them. THAT was the “BIG HOME SHOW” we went to. I’m not kidding. The rink walls were in place, but obviously the floor wasn’t ice - something was covering it. (The rink next door was in use for a hockey clinic…)

From the time we walked in till we left, including time to talk to a lady about granite counters and a stop to buy some Cutco knives, we spent less than 40 minutes in there. Oh, we also stopped on the way out to watch the hockey clinic. Yeah, impressive.

So we’ve been home a while. Shortly, I will put the corned beef on to start simmering. And I’ll crochet.

The sun is in and out, the roads are drying, and most of the snow has melted. Daughter is bummed - she was hoping for a snow day tomorrow. Good times!

Just for the record, there isn’t nearly enough chocolate in this house. Someone has been slacking off in the love offering department…

I’m going to start making chili in a few minutes. Y’all are welcome to use your internet smell-o-net (broadband required) feature to visit and enjoy the wonderiferous scents coming from my kitchen for the next several hours.

Bring beer.

Rebo is back on the air! Hallelujah!

I was seriously jonesin’.

They gave us a new router, but that didn’t fix it. So he set it up to use a different channel, other than the “automatic” one the router picks, because there are too many networks competing around here. So he says.

Whatever, it’s working again. For more than a minute at a time!

w00t!

Now I have to go finish the massive cleaning project i started in the master bedroom and bath. Then grocery shopping. Then dinner shall be takeout.

I have decreed.

Tackling my nasty ass kitchen, and Woe Betide the person who messes it up when I am done!

Thanks for the funny, VunderBob, I’ll be blatantly stealing that now!

Corned beef is simmering. Big, giganto pot of sketty sauce is simmering. Chickie tits are in the fridge covered in BBQ sauce. MBG, I’ll put up my yummerriffic kitchen smells against yours and I know I’ll win - at least with me because I don’t like chili. :stuck_out_tongue:

The corned beef is tonight’s supper. The sketty sauce (which is chock full of beeyooteeful mushrooms) will be bagged and put in the freezer for future meals. The chickie tits are tomorrow’s supper. I was going to make up a batch of teriyaki marinade, but I’m out of soy sauce. So tomorrow.

In an hour or so, I’ll peel and cut up some N.O.T. and some carrots and toss them in with the corned beef. Last will be the cabbage when the beef is almost done. Supper will be mega-yum. And there’s ice cream for dessert.

No idea why I’m so domestical today.

I can’t do it anymore. I can’t stay up drinking and laughing with the girls until 3 a.m. and be expected to drive a two and a half hour stretch early the next morning. I’m home safely, but I was having mini hallucinations on the road. The cars ahead of me were morphing into wheelchairs, and people sitting at desks, and someone chilling on a couch . . . very disturbing. I even heard a conversation in my head that I participated in out loud. Thank Og P was dozing. I’m not sure what she’s have thought of me had she heard me.

Turns out, there’s a Part Deux to the OY! story.
Friday morning, I left shortly after I posted. I went downstairs, put on my coat, got in to the rental, and drove to P’s house 20 minutes away (in the direction we were heading anyway). She came out of her house carrying her case, a tote, . . . and a garment bag in which was her costume. “Oh Crapdoodies!” So we drove back to my house, she ran in and grabbed my costume, and we resumed our trip. Okay, not as bad as Thursday, but just another leaf on that particular tree.
AND if that was enough, about 5 mile north of Exit 4 on the NJTP, I got caught doing 84 in a 65. But the trooper was very nice, and only marked me as doing 74 - thereby saving me $250 dollars in the difference between the fine levels.

We did respectably. Our score was slightly lower than last year, but we moved up one place in the standings from eighth last year to seventh. Our director is very proud of us. We’re pretty proud of ourselves, too.

I’m going to sleep now. See you next MMP.

Oh, my, rosie, that doesn’t sound good. Glad you made it home safely.

Bobbio:

Great Harvest makes yummy Hot Cross Buns. Although they put way too much icing on them. I’m thinking about making some this week. AIR, Muppet has a yummy-sounding recipe on her blog.

Went to Applebee’s for lunch with a big group. Now I need to do some laundry and get stuff together so that I can get my taxes done.

Also need to make sure I have stuff for lunches this week.

But instead, I’m knitting.

Happy Sunday, all!

I can’t possibly catch up, but I am here, again. Spring has sprung all over the place here, and while folks around here were very pleased with the spring- like temperature of 65°F, for me and the kids that is summer weather on Kodiak, so we were sunbathing!

To join in the talk of Sunday Supper, my sister is coming over and we are going to have sauteed scallops, pasta with browned butter and mizithra and spare guts. My son will have to forage for something as he refuses to eat civilized food, but there is a wide variety of Boy Food in the house so he won’t suffer. For dessert there shall be strawberry shortcake with vanilla whipped cream, and my sister and I will probably do serious damage to my supply of cranberry wine! To quote Moooom, it will be yummerific!

I am so happy being back at home. I have found my camera and will take photos soon. Oh, and I have a happy little secret which I have been keeping to myself, but it’s about time I shared it with y’all…

It’s a good secret! :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Sunday!

Good secret, huh? I’m guessing a new grandbaby. Or you eloped to Vegas with a major studmuffin and were married by Elvis in a neon chapel.

Was I close??

My guess is Elvis and Wiki (what? he’s still alive right?) eloped to vegas and were married by Fabio.

Howdy Y’all! Da cave is defilthyfied. Go Me! It smells oh so clean. No cookin’ for me tonight. I took some skettie sauce outta da freezer earlier for tomorrow night’s dindin. I also have some ground beast thawin’ to make meatballs. I’m in the mood for sketties and meatballs. MMMMMMM…

Ima go over to OYKW’s place in a bit and we’re gonna go grab an early dindin. He hs some paperirk to finish up, poor thing, but like I told him, he’s gotta eat. It’ll probably be sump’n fancy like Mickey D’s or that most excellent fine dining establishment known as Three Squares Diner. Nuttin’ but the best for us!

Later Y’all!
