Ham steak, Little Ol’ Lady Casserole (it’s in the blog named Pineapple Casserole), green beans and roll shall comprise dindin. OYKW will grill the ham whilst I bake the rolls. He is on his way. I’s Hongry!
OK, I decided to be nice. Here’s a link to Lil Ol’ Lady Casserole. It’s toward the end of the page.
red, MetalMouse, and any other Mumpers who may be in the path of the biiiiiiig storms rollin’ across east Mississippi, Alabammy. and Tennessee be careful. That’s some mean stuff goin’ on. OYKW talked with his mother a little bit ago and said they’ve had severe tstorms, and a couple of tornado warnin’s this afternoon and are still under threat of both. We may have some of that here before the night’s over but it looks like the brunt of all the storms are a little north. YIKES!
Back from supper, followed by dessert at DQ. My sushi was pretty good. **FCD **got some kind of curry over noodles - it was good, but the heat hit me after I’d eaten some of it. Not painful, but my mouth definitely knew it had been assaulted! I thought the place was kinda pricey - dunno if we’ll go back.
Just stripped and re-made the bed. That was one of the requirements for FCD’s pre-surgicals prep. Either clean sheets or clean jammies. He doesn’t wear jammies, so… I’ve also got to help him wash and wipe some stuff on his back before bed. He’s going into the office for a few hours in the morning, but I’m not. I have enough vacation time, so I’ll stay home and do chores. Or something.
The hospital has a WiFi hot spot so I’ll take my tablet. I’d downloaded several books, plus there are a few games I play on line, so I’ll have something to amuse me while waiting.
Yep, another exciting evening at FairyChatEstates!
My mother will be 80 on Saturday, so I need to buy her a gift. I realized too that she is probably upset that we are not doing something special for a milestone birthday - I kept thinking she is going to be 79.
I suppose we should go there for the day, just more to this already full week.
Sah-son is loaded with school work this week, more than usual.
Had to read the assigned chapter for class tonight. Wish textbook publishers would clue in that not ALL their students are 20-somethings with 20/20 vision. That lighted magnifier with stand we bought recently helped a lot.
Class tonight, with some ominous-looking clouds outside. Yay. Wish I could skip tonight, between tired and crampy and not relishing the prospect of taking the bus in this weather (actually a less unpleasant idea than the notion of driving to campus in 5-something-pm traffic and hassling with parking).
‘Tis time to retire to the boudoir for the evenin’ to watch teevee until sleepy time. Storms are expected to come in over tonight and tomorrow is supposed to be stormy. At least I don’t have to go anywhere but the orifice.
Thanks for the suggestion, Mooom. The closest dental school is at Penn, and they accept patients, so that’s a possibility. My health insurance company is going to cover the MRI, so that’s one less thing to worry about. Once I get the determination from the dental insurance, I can make a better decision.
The sprog is turning into quite the chef. I had some leftover rotisserie chicken in the fridge, and we turned that into taco-seasoned chicken quesadillas with homemade guacamole. He did most of the work, and they were awesome.
I recall reading Dune when my Father was in the hospital in 1972, and a large book while the Now Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) was in 1983. I read the same page three times. I cannot remember the title. :dubious:
A friend of ours who worked with us in Our Youth at the library, the security guard, was a man of the cloth. One of the old ladies he visited in the hospital came to see Eddie when he was in the hospital. She asked what he had. “My cousin had that”, she snapped her fingers, “Went like that!”
:dubious:
**flytrap **- regarding dumping snow in the river - it’s my understanding that the concern is what’s among the flakes (no offense… ) All manner of litter and debris and lawn furniture and small animals could be scooped up in the snow, and you don’t want that crap in your water. When they pile it up and let it melt on land, the debris remains and can be disposed of accordingly.
Yep, I’m up. **FCD **has left for the office to tie up a few loose ends and bring home some stuff he can work on next week. I just finished breakfast and I continue to caffeinate. Eventually, I’ll shower, dress, and pack some stuff for him, altho I understand we’re not supposed to leave anything at the hospital - it’s just what I’ll need to take tomorrow to bring him home.
I assume I’ll have time this morning to empty the dishwasher, too, so I’ll at least do something productive. And I need to be sure my phone is fully charged so I can call my MIL and daughter when it’s all done. Gonna be a long day.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 71 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. No rain or storms overnight but is still comin’ allegedly. We shall see. I do believe most of it will be north of here.
MOOOOOOM hope all goes well with FCD’s surgery today.
OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
I’m half-sick and coughing. I can’t tell if I feel rotten because of allergies (it’s unseasonably warm, and I don’t trust that the pollen is all DEAD as it should be this time of year), or if I have a cold virus.
Oh, and I have a conference call with the team in Nepal at 6:30 am.
I’m going back to bed after the call is over.
Blurf.
oh, hell no! The hash browns are the best!
I’m sorry to hear this. Backs are like knees – they prove that intelligent design is a hoax.
