Back in the office in the MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and clear accordin’ to TWPTB, with a predicted high of 77 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. It shall be noisy at da cave at least for a while today. A large chunk o’ concrete must be cut out in order to move the drain for the new shower to the center. Really about a foot of concrete but it shall be noisy nonetheless. Pot roast with baby carrots and N.O.T for suppage along with butterbeans and possibly corn bread. I make a good pot roast in the slow cooker.

CupCakes I prefer to boil the water, add tea bags and then stir in a cup of sugar. I make it a gallon at a time so I pour the tea/sugar mixture into a gallon jug and dilute it. I use a quart sauce pan to make the tea. One cup of sugar is enough for us. Some people dump in as much as what tastes like a ten pound bag of sugar. At some restaurants I will get a half and half because I know how waaaaaaaaaaaay sweet the sweet tea is. Lemon is most acceptable. Sweet tea is also great for an “Arnold Palmer”, half tea/half lemonade.

red I figure I’m earnin’ points when I help mow the front and back forty church yahd. I need all the points I can get.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

ETA: First on Three! NEENER! NEENER! NEENER! Spidey

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work

I’m going to share my earworm, but you’ll have to make an effort to get it unless you happen to be familiar.

Stephen Lynch singing Ugly Baby. And if you happen to decide to YouTube him, listen to *Lullabye *also. You’re welcome.

There will be sun today and I pulled out a meatloaf to thaw last night. If it’s thawed enough, it’ll be supper. If not, it’ll be tomorrow’s supper. Onward into the day!!!

Happy Thursday!

My teeth hurt from reading that part.

Raining. Looked at the Radar and it looks like rain for most of the day. Glad I got out and walked some Wednesday evening because doesn’t look like I’m going anywhere today. Rain. Bah.

OK, rant over, hope the rest of you will enjoy your day and maybe I get a couple things done around the house.

But still raining.

Lunch time!

I need to stop at the store on my way home. I’m out of fresh fruit and my lunches are so boring because of that. We’ll see what I can get. Can’t wait till local fruits are available… if ever… stoopit weather…

MetalMouse It seems like it rains a bunch in North Ali’bammy.

Blurf. Overslept this am and almost took the day off but here I am at irk. I do have stuff to do.

Rah. Still ick. Stupid flu. Rain tomorrow and I’m looking forward to it. Otherwise I’d have to turn on my sprinklers and I don’t want to do that yet. I don’t bother for most things, but I like to keep my bushes and roses and such alive through the summer.

Onward. Rah.

It’s supposed to be rain/tstorms/apocalypse out but instead it is N.O.S. :dubious:

{{{Sunny}}} Here’s Sheldon’s mom singin’ Soft Kitty.

Butters, you ain’t kidding. we had an all-day rain Sunday and looks like a repeat for today.

Not exactly sure where you are on the map, swampy, but the rain may yet get there: https://radar.weather.gov/Conus/southeast_loop.php

It’s still here for sure, but nappage taken and garbage taken out, so things are fine (except the kids soccer practice got cancelled).

Thank you Swampy.

MetalMouse Have I mentioned that I like your sig?

Home. I opened some windows - it’s a lovely afternoon.

The meatloaf is still frozen within, so I need to come up with an alternative for supper tonight. Too tahred to decide - it’s probably going to be a forage night. I did get some chocolate cake for dessert, so there’s that.

C’mon, Firday!!!

Why is an old fart like Swampy doing this like a college student studying late in the semester?

Both are cramming for finals!

I have a vision of a family digging up roots and gathering nuts and berries while scratching themselves.

Actually, a very nice man brought us pizza for supper.

baker, when I used to make two pitchers, I would do tea about like swampy does. I have been to cafes who served it all unsweetened and put a syrup pitcher with simple syrup to sweeten to your taste.

{{{sunny}}} Make sure you wash your hands before typing in the MMP.

Mooooom, FCD?

It looks like I’ll have everything wrapped up for month end by tomorrow afternoon. Which is a good thing since I won’t be at irk Monday. I just arranged for a dog walker/sitter for Nelson Saturday since I’ll be with the heathens at the animal sanctuary in west Tennessee until early evening. A friend’s college student son will come over in teh afternoon, walk him, check his food and water and play with him. In return, he’ll get some quiet time away from the folks and his two kid brothers, who, due to family circumstances, he shares a bedroom with and $20. He’s an animal lover, so Nelson’s in good hands.

**Red **- nope, pizza guy!

I ordered a DIY screen room that we’ll erect on the back deck so the cats and dog can go outside. It’s cheaper than screening in the front porch and I think it’ll look better. Plus it’s easier.

It’ll arrive just before we head back to FL, and we’ll assemble it right after we get back. Then all we’ll need is a pet door insert for the sliding glass door. Hope the cats appreciate it!

Home, tired, watching my two least favorite teams play hockey. Inventory tomorrow

It finally did rain in the late afternoon but not anything like TWPTB said was goin’ to happen. In other news, the pot roast was goooooooooooooood! Normally we are watchin’ teevee on Thursday night but tonight I am recordin’ what we watch for later watchin’ cause neither of us wants to watch right now. Matter of fact OYKW is already abed and I shall join him anon.

Sunny, thank you. The Notebooks of Lazarus Long are part of a book by Robert A. Heinlein and they have some of best quotables you could ask for. If you want to browse, they are here: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~hgobioff/public/random_stuff/lazarus.long.excerpts

Rain finally stopped, so I went to Logan’s Roadhouse for comfort food (meatloaf) and then did some shopping. Bought a drill, bits for said drill, a outdoor folding chair, new shoes, batteries, and a loaf of bread. Back indoors now and chillin’.
