Back on the road again: an MMP

I saw that a few minutes ago. I can’t claim I was a big fan, but Lord that woman could sing!

And Matt “Guitar” Murphy, who played her husband in the movie “The Blues Brothers” died this past June. I’m feeling old.

Here they are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vet6AHmq3_s

On other topics, lawn is mowed and clippings bagged.

Home from dealership. The truck has to spend the night because the part has to be ordered. Engine Control Module? something like that, regulates the fuel injection or something.
I thought about looking around while I was there, but I don’t really need something new.

The dealership has a shuttle service and I got dropped off out front. Some watch dog I have, I came in the front door, and even slammed it a little and Ripple didn’t even come investigate. My son heard it but thought it was just the mailman.

Once Ripple heard my voice he came running, all happy and excited to see me. He even jumped on me, something he never does. Little goof, I made him some breakfast right before I left, eggs and toast, and he didn’t eat it until after I got home.

He was hiding from the burglars, wondering if he should show them where you keep the silverware right away, or hold out for a bribe.

Could be

I’m surprised because usually the slightest sound at the door has him charging at it with a growl.

Howdy Y’all! We have supped and all is well. Been rainy off and on all day. I spent some time goin’ through stuff in the filin’ cabinet and then spent some quality time with the shredder. Fun times.

My mostly wire haired dachshund didn’t know it was I coming through the door, and I thought the hound of the Baskervilles was coming down the hall.

metal mouse, the Huntsville dealership called today, along with the one from Bowling Green KY and one from Knoxville. I did do the test drive on the Elantra (nice car that I really like) and the Kona (I love this one).I can see myself in either at 65.

{{{doggio}}} Are you shopping for new or used?

spidey, ask what you can do to help. That is how I usually handle it. If they’re not geographically close, I send cards to both and include gift cards for takeout or delivery meals. It’s a tough situation.

sari, Nelson barks his fool head off when someone walks on the walkway outside of my apartment when I’m here, but when I come in from outside he just greets me with kisses and by jumping like he hasn’t seen me forever. :stuck_out_tongue:

I went to the doctor today. The bruising is the appropriate weird color and some of teh stiffness is (slowly) leaving. Doc gave me some samples of muscle relaxers and stuff to help the effects of pain meds on my digestive system. After the test drives, I stopped at Harbor Freight (they got one in my old town! ) for a couple of carbines to attatch Nelson’s leash to the patio chairs and the oh shit bar of the new wheels. I walked out with two five inch ones for less than five bucks when one would have cost me seven at Tar-jay.

Frankie & Willie style?
I don’t like your avatar; I’ve always pictured you more like this, Swamp[del]thing[/del]bear.

I know you typoed that, but carbines are very different than carbiners.

It was very hot & hoomid out there tonight; steamed myself but good. Home, gotta eat, finish a video/copying stills & then pack for tomorrow morning will be an early one.

Food Lion’s Western Union terminal was “broken” again:dubious:, so I was slammed busy all day. I did laundry, and am watching updates from the Packers game on the PC(no radio, no TV in my area.) :frowning:

red, Newer than I usually buy.

Got to the soccer fields and got all the cones and stuff laid out for the kids, just in time for some thunder and lightning to show up and cancel practice. Rats. Made up for it by eating meatloaf at Logan’s Roadhouse so I iz stuffed.

Tomorrow I drive about 45 minutes to the Tenn-Ala border to discuss my cabinets for the remodel project. since that’s the biggest cost when it comes to hardware, probably a good idea to make sure I got it right.

Red, not in the car market for another 6-7 years, but I like the looks of that Kona too.

flytrap, wiener dogs have more bark in them per canine-capita than any other dog I’ve seen. When I was a kid, we had service folks refusing to come in the house usless we put that ‘vicious’ dog they couldn’t see on a leash…

Sari, hope that fixes the trick problem.

That seems reasonable. It seems to only be detectable in certain environments. When I’m outside things smell fine. Maybe I’m smelling something physically inside the house.

Sleeping with Mel tonight.

For some reason that started me on a Night Court flashback.

Went to the memorial for my coworker and then work. It was a beautiful service with laughter, tears, anger, joy, the entire range of human emotion and just what all of us needed I am sure. I am positive Lainey approved.

Not feeling like going back to see who had issues with new cars and their “mobility kits” but when I bought my Soul two years ago, the first thing I got for it was a real spare tire. Not sure about the current ones, but in 2016 models, at least, there’s a spare tire shaped space under the trunk, and a Kia dealer in Florida was selling OEM spares and jacks.

I’m not a fan of no spares. The last four “flats” I’ve had were three times of sidewall damage and one dry-rotted valve stem, none of which could be fixed with a can of goop.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. I had to rescue one of the house spiders from my bathtub this morning.

This morning was almost a disaster! The soda machine in the kitchen wasn’t working!! Luckily, there’s another out in the electrical shop kitchen, so I’ve got my caffeine fix. Crisis averted!

TGIF. That’s all. Happy Firday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudyish with a predicted high of 90 and predicted rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. Need to take care of some errands in town so will do so this mornin’ before doom, gloom, death, and destruction set in. Actually if’n I do what needs doin’ this mornin’ that will most likely ensure a beeyoootiful afternoon. We shall sup upon majik intartoobz pizza. Rah.

Spidey I look like that only before I purtify. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants food. Then I shall purtify and don appropriate goin’ about the public bein’ adult attire. Such a bother.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Hola! Tis Firday. My week off is quickly ending.

Gonna go to the grocery store and fetch stuff to make more cobbler.

Happy Weekend all!

Happy Firday!

I’ve been up since 3am, damn bladder, and there won’t be time for a nap today.

However the sun is shining and it is not so hot outside.

I have to go get my truck later today. I paid all the bills that needed paying this morning since i never got to it yesterday. I have one more to pay but the phone system to pay it takes so f’ing long that I will wait until I am off irk.

I broke a molar a couple days ago, and the pain comes and goes. I have a severe dentist phobia, so I really don’t want to go to the dentist, but I know I should. Part of it is that I’m afraid of being shamed for not coming in/caring for my teeth better. Part of it is that I had a root canal a few years back, and the tooth never actually stopped hurting. The sharp pain of a broken tooth stopped, but I still couldn’t eat on that side of my mouth. So for three years, I’ve been eating exclusively on one side of my mouth and --surprise, surprise-- I broke a tooth there. I want both teeth fixed so I can eat like a normal person, but I can’t afford 2 root canals and 2 crowns. And I have to go back to the same dental practice that I went to for my last root canal (the one that didn’t totally solve the problem) because they’re the only one in my area that takes my husband’s insurance and offers financing.

I don’t know what I’m going to do, but I can’t eat. Every time my tooth throbs, it spikes my anxiety about the dentist and finances.
