Back to "normality" in the MMP?

I have survived the ordeal. The actual surgery itself went excellently, but I think the cook was trying to kill me. All I had to eat yesterday was a hamburger and it was so dry it got stuck halfway down. I posted a pic of the EKG monitor last night, and a friend essentially said “Dude, that looks PERFECT!” Pulse has dropped from 140 to 80. Nice happy sinus rhythm. I don’t feel fantastic yet, but it is going to take a while to clear out all the cobwebs caused by nearly four hours of anesthesia.

Now to heal. I got home this morning and assumed the position in my recliner.

{{{Gotti}}} nice to see you on the flip side.

Were you gone?

It’s a side dish that I often fix for vegetative matter when I cook Indian. If you want meatless dishes, check out vegetarian and vegan ones on Pinterest or AllRecipes. Here’s the link to the recipe that I use:https://amymcgrath.com/

Yay! gotti and becks survived.

Just the usual menus and meanderings.

Glad to see you, and I hope life without Pancho is going well.

Nice to see you back home and doing better too. Seems like our medical week is looking up around here.

Annoying event here: seems the orthopedist’s office cancelled DH’s appointment tomorrow without telling us. We found out from our nurse case manager after she checked in with them to confirm said appointment. Turns out they screwed up paperirk and did not think workers’ comp had authorized said appointment. Hopefully, this is now resolved and maybe we can even reschedule said appointment for Monday. We do also now have to reschedule with the occupational medicine doctor, since she insists we need to see the ortho guy first, then her.

Well, Swampy’s gay.

Oh, thank heavens, gotti. I was wondering and didn’t know how or when we’d know you were OK.

Nettie, what a bother. I hope they can squeeze you in on Monday, especially since it was their mistake.

MoonUnit, I hope they don’t have to amputate the thumb, but I salute your attitude. I do like to walk. It still amazes me that just by putting one foot in front of the other repeatedly, we can get to so many places. Good thing I like walking, as I have to do so much of it now.

Beck, I did gnash my teeth. I didn’t rend my garments because even in liberal western Washington, walking around in rent garments can mean a jail term, and I don’t think “But it’s Beckdawrek!” will carry any weight with the judge. Justice is blind and doesn’t hang out on the Dope. :frowning:

Yay Gotti and Becks! Feel goodest soonest!

Hugs and empathy to everyone else. I read all and retained little. My fault.

I’ve spent the week dealing with my aunt. She had a stroke, and now she’s moved to rehab. She hates it. And is convinced she’s fine. No kids of her own, but she’s entirely certain that she probably would have raised all of us better.

Today’s win was when Auntie told the nursing home staff to call me first if there’s a problem. At age fifty, she thinks I might be grown.

But she wouldn’t have given me credit except that the whole county is flooded and I’m the only one who could get to her today. I signed papers and told the nursing staff to lob food at the old broad and call me if there’s a problem. My aunt isn’t happy. I helped her with dinner and told her to cooperate with physical therapy if she wants to go home, and I’ll see her tomorrow.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 49 Amurrkin and cloudyish out with a predicted high of 63, sorta, kinda, N.O.S. for the day and is supposed to be windy. We shall see. I shall betake myself to the church house in a little while to commence with prep stuff for the big fish fry and to assist with that as well. I foresee spendin’ all day there. I shall probably have a couple of hours where I’m not doin’ anything but to leave and come back to da cave and then go back would be a twenty-six mile round trip which does not make sense to me. I shall bring my phone and charger so as to be entertained. Obviously sup will be fish 'n fixin’s.

{{{Becks and Gotti}}} glad to see y’all survived. May the healin’ be quick!

WAIT!?!?! WHAT?!?!? I’M GAY?!?!?

*INGO

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life is so hard!

Happy Firday Y’all!

*It Never Gets Old!

Welcome back, surgical survivors!!! Sorry, no teeth-gnashing here. But I was on the lookout for anyone who’d dare trash either of you, because I’m nice, dammit!

I managed to sleep without Mel last night, but boy howdy did my brain take me weird places… like the 10th floor of the Pentagon (which has only 5 floors above ground) and walking thru NYC, avoiding flooded streets. At least said brain didn’t keep waking me, so there’s that for consolation.

I was going to do trash and recycling today, but it’s supposed to rain. Convenience center doesn’t open for 2 more hours. I suppose I could load the truck, and take everything tomorrow. We shall see.

Other than that, just another boring day. Happy Firday!!

Morning all. Got up- with a rasping cough and some congestion in the lungs, meaning my normal winter cold is finally showing up. Probably go out (need a couple things from the store) and see if anybody avoids me due to coronavirus fears…

46F this morning, going to 51F but at least it looks like the rain has departed the area.

gotti, good to see ya, hope healing continues and the food improves.

Peaches, hope aunts’ stroke was a mild one and she can get back to life soon. Sounds like she’s doing well.

Nettie, hope the DH’s appointment holds this time.

OK, need to work the Friday Sudoku’s and label the photographs before I put them away. All y’all take care.

Since Justice is blind, she wouldn’t be able to see your rent garments so you’d be off the hook. I’m not a lawyer but I work with them, so that qualifies me to say that.

I’m very happy to see that all of the sick, injured, surgery cases, etc. are on the mend. Keep up the good work!

And today is **Ruble’s **first birthday in heaven. :frowning:

Hope the heavenly choir is serenading **Ruble **properly!

MissOwl, since you’re now our resident legal authority, what is the standard fine and/or punishment for those who refuse to put their sweaty beverage containers on proper coasters? Asking for a friend…

Good morning all.

Got kitten photo. Folks on the other forum taught me how to work imgur.

if this works will upload more,

Off for the injection. Then to the ATM to score some fun tickets.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled.

: faints :

I read that as streaming green beans.(which would be the most boring Food Network webcam available).

Beck!
: gentle tackelhug :
No gnashing, but Gordie was gnawing on one of his stuffies yesterday.

gotti!
: enthusiastic tacklehug :

1812 Overture.

Perhaps it’s just me, but five pounds is a hell of a lot of green beans.

Beverage containers (sweaty or not) are not allowed on proper coasters. If one should sneak such a thing onto a proper coaster, the typical punishment is removal from the park and confiscation of your wristband, if you have one. The riders, however, are allowed to be as sweaty as they like.

It is. But, I love the silly things! I could eat green beans every single day. Not the canned crap. Just the fresh ones. So, I steam them, and freeze them. That way, I don’t have to make a special trip to the store to get them.

Moonunit Link did not irk for me.

Happy Firday. Busy, busy
