I needed to tire the kid out, so we went to the Marine Museum. She ran around looking at fish and turtles and fossils and she even grabbed one little boy by the hand and led him around. I had to sing Wheels on the Bus on our way home to keep her awake! But now she’s crashed and I can have lunch. Yay!
Shopping is done, got a new shelving unit I need to install and a couple boxes to put the ‘misc.’ pictures in, both activities to be done sometime… N.O.S. outside, hopefully will stick around for the weekend.
FCM, kid’s going to end up an oceanographer at this rate.
moon unit, couldn’t see anything either.
Mrs. Owl, especially looping coasters! And ruble will get his birthday celebrated…here in our hearts.
I’m back from oncologist appointment. He said everything looks good, and he’ll see me in two months, when he’ll do bloodwork. If you have to go to a cancer doc, that’s the report you want. It’s been raining since last night. I need sunglasses even on cloudy days because of my eye stuff, so there I was, striding along sporting sunglasses and an umbrella. Classy look.
A very strange thing happened last night. I’d only been asleep for a little while, when I was awakened by what sounded exactly like a moose. (Live in Wyoming long enough, you get to know what moose and elk in rut sound like.) I do not live in the country. There are little forested areas, including one behind me, but this is definitely not rural. We get the occasional deer, but no moose. It was definitely not a dog. I was startled and then spent too long trying to figure out what it could be. Still don’t know, and now I’m sleepy.
A birthday salute to dear ruble. I’m so glad he got himself borned.
**
OW**, thanks for the legal advice. If I ever get arrested, “Justice is blind!” will constitute my entire defense. Can I get the SDMB in the poky?
Swampy, brace yourself. I have something to tell you. Not only are you gay, but you know that guy who’s been living with you? Yep.
moon unit, link sent me to “Looks like you made a wrong turn!” on imgur.
metal mouse, hope your cold turns out to be mild.
FCM, I want to go to the 10th floor of the Pentagon. Must be where the Air Force is.
Okay.
Kayaker helped me out with Imger.
This link should work.
And hold on Sunnie, and I will upload fotos with Kiko and cats sleeping together,
And now the link.
Happy Firday.
It’s a cloudy 46 degrees outside, supposed to rain.
Overnight is supposed to get windy, tomorrow morning will be a cold one.
**Happy Heavenly Birthday Ruble. **
Welcome home Beck and Gotti.

Can’t see the MoonUnit pic either, and MoonUnit, my son is getting a degree in Liberal Studies with a focus on Business and Global Marketing. He is taking History of Jazz because he didn’t pay attention to his emails and was late to register for this semester’s classes. He had to choose from what was available.
I would do what I could to keep my thumb.
Nellie, we did find out it can be either a Jazz concert or go to a club. I looked up clubs close to this area, was happy to see more than a few, then found out the closest one is an hour away in Virginia. I’m going to keep looking. Even though they all seem to be open during the day, I need to find out if there is live music during the day. If we have to go in the evening, then I have to figure out what to do with the dogs. Neither are crate trained and they have never been left home alone. Considering how they behave if I leave the house without them, there won’t be much of a house left to come home to if we both leave.
I’d be more than happy to give my share of the green beans to whomever wants them. I wish I did like them as they are Keto, but even the smell can make me feel ill. Especially if they are canned.
Half the day is gone already, and I havent gotten much done.
I feel like I need a nap, but I am going to finish cleaning up the papers I have and put them away, finally. I found another box of stuff last night and it needs to be gone through.
I found my HS diploma. Don’t know what I am going to do with it, but I found it.
Glad the [del]sickos[/del] sickies are doing well!
Kids that age often lurves fisheses; when I worked at the zoo, the big fish tank was the toddler magnet. Some of us don’t grow out of it either
Quite glad it’s the weekend, my final Deadlines Approacheth, though none of them involve going to jazz clubs, they just involve lots and lots of writing assignments. I’m not really envious, I can at least listen to whatever I like and wear jammies as I write things up.
We’re currently trying to coordinate everyone in the year to organise an all-day talk to the whole skool; last night I had a stress dream that 10 students I’d never seen before suddenly showed up at class today and all got cross about not having a scheduled time slot or being included in the booklet. I mentioned the dream in class, and got a response of ‘Yeah, that seems quite possible’ from the rest of the class… It’s in less than 2 weeks, and we should probably start a betting pool on if a few of 'em will show. Yes Boofae, you have my sympathy.
I shall raise a glass to Ruble. Or a bottle.
Rayita is tiny!! But I love the pic!
Roxy napped 2 anna half hours, then had some mandarin oranges and a grilled cheese sammich. Daughter is home, so I’m off toddler duty. Huzzah!
I’m a bit worried - a check I mailed last week to my credit union in FL hasn’t arrived yet. It hasn’t cleared the bank here, so there’s that. I don’t want to put a stop on it, but if it’s lost, I can’t write a duplicate, then risk having the original turn up. What to do, what to do…
PWAISDN does not like green beans. At ALL. Not steamed, not in casserole, not no way no how.
His father worked for Dole and apparently got literally paid in beans for as much canned food as his family ate, forming a lifelong hatred of haricots vert. I think it was more an informal “bonus” program where mis-labeled cans were freely available for employees to take, and his father worked at a plant that canned a lot of beans as he has no problem with canned corn or peas, or peas and carrots, or fruit. He even likes canned sliced potatoes but if I want green beans, I have to have them when he’s not around.
Sorry about deafening everyone with the SQUEEEEEEEEE.
Not, not really sorry. Definitely justified squeeing. ![]()
OK, so DH’s orthopedist is going on vacation, no available slots until APRIL. Nice nurse case manager (NCM) from the worker’s comp insurance company insists we still keep the appointment with the occupational therapy doctor on Monday. She understands what’s needed here a lot better than DH and I collectively do, and is great at keeping things on track when DH and I are losing our mutual marbles, so my policy is “do what NCM says”.
Probably just as well I stayed home today anyway. My lower digestive system seems to be trying to tie itself in knots. Painfully. Also, way too much time in the smallest room.
Sorry, badly timed 502 caused duplication.
Supper tonight is pseudo mac-n-cheese - instead of mac, it’s cauliflower. And dessert is berry-cheesecake fat bombs. Very cheesy meal. Daughter asked if Colase was for after. Smart-ass kid.
Howdy Y’all! Home from the fryin’ and eatin’ of fish. Stuff is still goin’ on, but I had had enough so bugged out. I’d been there since nine-thirty this mornin’ and I’s tahrd! ‘Twas fun and folks were happy with food, so yay for that. I need to read up on some stuff for tomorrow’s Vestry retreat, but really, really, really do not want to read. My po’ eyes are tahrd as well.
MoonUnit cute kittehs! I see why Kiko is such a proud grandpa.
Everyone else, yays, boos, hugs, trouts, noogies, chitlins and how you doin’s all around as needed. I read but with very little retention.
♪♫ *I’ve got sunglasses on a cloudy day. *♪♫
OYKW is gay, too?
Duplication of your time in the ‘library’?
That’s just…wrong!
The yellow fisherman tried to make dinner last night, but before cooking in the over, they got burned in the freezer. ![]()
Swampy, do you have more or less than these folks?
Yeah, Spidey, it wasn’t all that good. Too doggone much cheese. It would have worked better with less cheese and more veggies - like making it cauliflower and broccoli au gratin. The dessert wasn’t very good either, so I won’t be making that again. But I’ll try some of the other recipes in the coming days.
It’s a good thing I’m retired - I’ve got time to mess around in the kitchen.
Speaking of retired - I got some gummint money today! It was a refund of the payment I’d made for Medicare part B, since it’s now being taken out of my SS payment. So that was a nice surprise.
Time to assume the recline position and chill the night away.
**moon **, awwwwwwww!!! I want babbie kittehs. (What am I thinking:eek: )
Nellie, yay! Good news from your Doc.
I need food-porn!! Come on peeps tell Ol’ beck whatcher eating!!
FCM , I don’t know, but that fake mac-n-cheese sounds good to me.
happy birthday on high, ruble!
(snicker) Sure, let’s go with that.
Midol seems to have helped that problem greatly, so I feel better now.
DH’s appetite still seems to be recovering now that he’s back to irk.
Of course they are gray, they are dang old! Probably 45 or 50. Ancient!
When are you guys going to get over this? :dubious:
Does that mean me and PWAISDN are also gay? Eek!
So our governor called a state of emergency, three people in md have coronavirus.
Not that I am worried about it, all I want to know is if my son’s class will switch to being online.
I’ve not tried to make any fat bombs, of any kind.
I’m not that fond of cauliflower rice either, although it’s not bad in stuffed peppers.
I do like zoodles.
I haven’t tried shirataki noodles yet.
All I’ve had to eat today are some low carb protein bars, and some turkey and onion.
The turkey is cooked through, but I think it could have roasted a little longer. I like turkey the way my mother made it, over cooked and dry.
The dogs and cat like it though. I love the look I get from the cat when I give turkey to the dogs and not to him.
I’m going to cut up the rest of it and make some soup.
