you guys can make plans two months in advance? I don’t know what i’ll be doing in a couple of days! I live in NE DC (when I am there, now I am in Europe and maybe in China next week…) and will probably be there in June in which case I would join you.
Hey, weirddave—nice to meet another lax fan, although being a fan for only ten years makes you a newbie among us Baltimore-born players. I was playing rec league and watching a lot of Navy games back in the 70’s as a little kid (my friend’s father was an assistant coach). You’re right about UVa and Syracuse though; that’s probably who’ll be playing Monday and it should be good. That game will draw like 25,000+, depending on the weather-but they play the non-division I games that weekend also. The fans from out of the area usually stay the weekend at the hotels.
I could ride my bike to Chevy’s; it’s that close. Is it goin’ to be Sat. or Sun?

Glad you agree. Actually, ten years is just the time I spent assisting the coaches of the Towson University Lax team ( I was not a coach, but I helped them out with whatever they needed.). I am also a Baltimore native, and heve been involved with lax since I was a kid. I played at St.Pauls starting in about 6th grade. Never played in college because I wasn’t good enough.

Weirddave-a Crusader right? I was a little Admiral myself; the old MSA A conference ruled, and probably still does although some teams have lost out of conference in the last few years. That never happened until recently (not counting to St. Mary’s, before they joined)-which is probably good for the game over all. My Jr. year we lost ~22 guys to graduation after being 3rd in the state (behind BL and Loyola) and we were real weak but no one out of conference came within 6 goals of us-including the B conference champion and two public school playoff finalists.
When did you play? I remember playing St. Paul’s my Jr. year and they had to give us orange balls because the field got covered in snow during the game. This was the mid 80’s

I just stopped at Chevy’s tonight to see what time it closes on Saturday nights. It stops serving at 11:00, so expect to get thrown out about 12:00. Anyone who wants to stay later can move across the parking lot to the Denny’s or maybe a mile down the road to my place.

I don’t know who’s checked out “Satan’s Summer Shindig” yet but it looks like they’re planning a biggun for the 17th as well. Now I know I won’t be able to make it to Raleigh, so I was wondering what kinda coordination we might be able to get between the two events? Video link? Chat room? Who can scare up a wireless modem, a cuseeme camera, and a laptop? Might be fun to check in at Raleigh while we’re goofing around in Maryland. Whatcha say, fellow Dopers?
Actually, I haven’t checked out that thread, but I was under the impression that Satan and Drain were coming to our little get together. Hmmmm. I’ll check this out.
Dave - I spoke to the Dark One. In the interests of not killing himself with driving (He has to drive Drain back to Columbus the next day), they’ve decided to stay in NC that weekend.
