Guess what… I’m gonna have to bail out of this one. Turns out that Mrs. O’s good friend from back home is having a birthday party for her daughter who’s turning 1. Also a Civil War reenactment she likes is occurring up in PA that weekend; seeing as how I was gallivanting around Chicago for four days last week, she’s not so keen on spending another weekend apart. (Not that I disagree with her.) So I’m gonna have to live the event vicariously through you guys.
Post detailed minutes and take lotsa pictures! I wanna see how this one turned out…
Peta Tzunami and I will be there . . . we should explore the Maryland side of our new environs sooner or later, and this is as good an opportunity as any.
BTW, funny story: We’ve been in town for less than a week, we take the Metro into Arlington today so I can get a feel for my commute, then we get off at Pentagon City for lunch. In a metro area of several million people, where we know barely a handful, we run into SqrlCub at the food court. “It’s a small world after all . . .”
Hey everyone, I am not going to be able to attend…I start my new job at IKEA Saturday and I can’t make it. sob Wish I could be there, though, I can’t wait till the next time!!
I need to drive up to Baltimore at some point this weekend because I, my brother, and his girlfriend are flying out of DC this Monday, so I think I will most likely make the DC gathering, too. I’ll definitely be at the get-together in Raleigh, and I’ll be happy to help out with any of the transportation from Raleigh back to DC as well, if necessary.
Quite a group. I did momentarily consider trying to work out my transportation issues (MD & off the metro make it too difficult for my VA self) but I’m going to a show that night. In MD, come to think of it. But have fun everyone (not a worry, I’m sure.)
