Because Nobody Else Did, Here's The MMP

I left way early today. I really didn’t have anything to do and I’m still feeling kinda crappy. I stopped at the store for a few things and got a can of clam chowder. It’s pretty awful - I managed to choke down half a bowl, but the rest is being dumped. ick.

My daughter called me from Orlando about 5:15 this morning. They were almost at the friends’ house where they’ll be staying. I believe she said something about having a nap. I’m just glad they got there safely. I always worry when they’re on the road, and moreso when it’s overnight driving.

Since I’m home, I’m going to paint the linen closet, or as much of it as I can. It’s a very shallow closet - about a foot, so it’ll be a real challenge to get paint on the hall-side wall, since I can’t fit my butt inside very well. I’ll just don some grubbies, spread plastic on the carpet, and do the best I can. White will be decidedly better than the bilious blue that’s in there now.

TGIF. Send chocolate.

doggio’s got a da-ate! doggio’s got a da-ate! doggio’s got a da-ate! doggio’s got a da-ate!

Ooooooooo

I have no idea where I am going - I will hazard a guess it is at one of the locations that I went to this year in my current job that had ‘issues’ (aka had some serious problems) that I am only now starting to get solved.

Sorry on the car hitting!

Sooooo glad it is the weekend my loooooooong 2 week trip for work really beat the crap out of me and I am exhausted so tomorrow will be sleep I will venture out as I need a new scarf and gloves for the winter as Paris got chilly in a hurry. Then more sleep and I plan to blitz the Christmas shopping online on Sunday then sleep some more.

Happy Friday!

English muffin, all toasty, with butter and strawberry jam. Mmmmmmm

Today’s random observation - holy Hannah, is Halloween candy ever HEAVY. I popped out on my lunch break to go stock up on candy for the trick-or-treaters… maybe I overdid it, but I have a whopping 6 lbs of candy to give out now (mostly gummies and tootsie rolls and such, because I’m nice but not THAT nice).

Mindy, I don’t suppose you could just steal a keyboard from a coworker you don’t particularly like, and swap it with your bug infested one? Spiders are ick ick ick (yes, I know they’re handy for getting rid of all the other crawlies, but still… ick).

Have fun on your daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate, doggio! Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do (which, to be honest, doesn’t mean much other than “no bondage on the first date” ).

taxi, I do know of a face cream from Japan that is partly based on placental tissue, so it’s not much of a stretch from there to fetal tissue (though, if we’re going to get technical, what’s in the cream is actually lab-grown tissue synthesized from a one-time biopsy of cells from a terminated fetus). The “OMG, you’re smearing dead baby on your face!!!” tone in the article is a bit misleading.

In other news, I finally gave up on making my own dress for Shopaholic Friend’s wedding. The pattern I was planning on using has what appears to be a beautiful pleated cross-over neckline in the illustrations, but in reality just looks like a bunchy mess. :frowning: So I bought this dress instead… it’s very va-va-voom. Hopefully it will meet the bride’s approval (I’m in the wedding party - the only rules for our dresses are black, knee-length, and bride-approved)

Even better, the store sold it to me for $130, because they screwed up and used a photo of the dress in a full-page ad for their big dress sale, even though this particular dress isn’t on sale.

Score.

gt don’t all dictators have a toadie?

Soapy, sorry about the car crunch. Did you offer your sister an English muffin to make up?

CutiePie what can I say, I worry. I don’t want you drivin’ around all over creation with unsafe tires.

MOOOOOM are you paintin’ a closet with your butt?

MinDude maybe it’s not a pregnant spider which will hatch many thousands of teeney tiny spiderlings. Look on the bright side, I say!

So, doggio is it a maybe or for real date yet? What will you wear? Where will you go? Do Nelly and Gordie approve of her? There’s so much to know here!

Excellent dress!

swampy, no, I’m not painting with my butt, you cheeselog! :stuck_out_tongue: But if I can’t get my butt into the closet, I have to lean in around the door frame to get the one wall white. First coat is on, and it’s very messy. ick. I’m taking a little break before round 2.

**Muppet **- love the dress! The bride may not approve if you show her up!

I’s hongry, too. I didn’t have much of a lunch, and now it’s nearly 5:30. Where’s the damned supper fairy???

The supper fairy heated up leftovers at da cave. Interestin’ dindin. Some beast loaf, roast beast, N.O.T., N.O.C., rice, cabbage, squash, butterbeans and peas. Little bits of all of it but enough to feed the both of us. Plus, no more leftovers in da fridge.

Muppet I forgot to say, the dress is vavavavoom! Tell the bride she can wear it on her honeymoon.

MOOOOOOM why would you want your butt in the closet anyway? :stuck_out_tongue:

Ahhh. Home for the weekend. Now I can catch up on some sleep and get to installing more stuff.

My next payment for the iPhone app I collaborated on finally arrived; took the USPS two weeks to deliver them. I asked him to pay me in iTunes cards 'cos US personal cheques take 30 days(!) to clear a Canadian bank, and since I’m going to use the iTunes credit anyway, I figured it was a good alternative. Unfortunately, the redeem page in iTunes isn’t working right now. Grrr.

The wife wants to go over to Blockbuster’s to buy some Blu Rays while they have some sort of extra special deal going on. Guess that means it’s Popeye’s for dinner.

Mahna[sup]2[/sup] - Can’t swap keyboards. Our office purchaser has a habit of buying whatever computers happen to be a bargain basement price at the time he’s buying then, so we have a mishmash of computer types and styles littering every office. As a result, I have a keyboard no one else has, so they’d notice. Maybe I should smash it with something and then complain to our purchaser that I need a new keyboard. And while I’m at it, a new office chair (mine’s falling apart – literally).

Swampy - You shut up! I don’t want dozens of little baby spiders come crawling out of my damn keyboard one day. I’ll probably freak out a little while searching frantically for any bug spray – or anything that could be effective as bug spray. Would hand sanitizer work? Or would the alcohol just get them drunk?

I’m glad you guys all like the dress. It bodes well for bridal approval.

Besides, even if Shopaholic Friend doesn’t like it, I’ll probably end up keeping the dress anyways. At that price, I’ll find another excuse to look hot… I’m sure there will be a holiday party or two coming up that will be a good excuse to get gussied up.

Mindy, drunk baby spiders sound… ummmm… amusing?

You made me scare my cat with my laughter!

Would that I could wear something like that.

I had quite a productive day today. I’d taken the day off, ostensibly to have my car taken car of - the steering had been acting up - but the bonus was I managed to avoid the office Hallowe’en party and its mounds of tasty comestibles. Easiest way for me to stick to plan and not eat things that could derail my project is to stay completely away.

Anyway, taking car of the car only took two hours, so I ran a few errands, then met a friend I hadn’t seen in easily 15 years, if not longer, for a long lunch, then more errands, and got home about a half hour ago. I feel great. Tired, but great.

Apparently the Supper Fairy was hanging out at Bad Chinese. I have been fed, and I just finished the second coat on the closet. It’s going to need one more - in the morning. You remember the blue cherubs in my “before” bathroom pic? That’s the color the inside of the linen closet was. Now it’s almost white. Almost…

Tomorrow, after the painting is done, the shower walls and sheetrock will go up. Then the medicine cabinet will come down, and the various holes will be patched. Maybe on Sunday, I’ll be able to prime the bathroom walls…

For now, I’m in the chill mode. I think I’ll get out of my painting clothes and don a robe. Then I can knit. Hope I can sleep thru the night - I didn’t sleep well last night. I need ice cream. Wish I’d bought some.

It’s about ten minutes before the Repast Faerie makes their way to us. Plan is to go to Most Excellent Chinese place that we are really going to miss once we move.

It’s a husband and wife duo - he cooks and she hosts and serves. Her memory is startling. Not that I’d ever been a “regular” there, but it had been a few years since I’d gone there, and when I walk in, she cries out “Long time! Where you been?” More importantly, she also remembers what you had the last time and details like “no garlic.” Really good food as well, and they’ve been in business for something like 15-20 years, which is truly amazing for a little strip mall kind of place in a suburb.

Speaking of moving, we found out yesterday that our application to rent a house has been approved, so we now have an address.

Well, dangit. I posted something earlier today, but it apparently got eaten up.

At any rate, I loooooove that dress, Muppet.

Mindy, the spider has already crawled up your sleeve and into your ear.:D;)

Sorry about the boo-boo on sis’s car, Soapy.

I know there’s more, but I’ve been running around in a dither since I got home from work. The bags are packed, except for bathroom type stuff (razors, deodorant, hair dryer, curling iron, flat iron, make-up, brushes, combs, etc.). No, I don’t keep travel kits on hand. I don’t travel that much.

I never did make it in for a pedicure, so I’ll have to do it myself in just a bit. I hate giving myself a pedicure. My hands are not in the least bit steady when it comes to applying nail polish.

Supper was provided courtesy of Sonic. Mr. Taters was nice enough to pick something up without my even asking.:slight_smile:

That’s all I’ve got. I won’t be around next week and won’t have access to a 'puter. Y’all behave and don’t forget me.:)

Pretty much a go, time and date TBD. She has dogs, so Nelly and Gordie will approve.

Enjoy the trip, Taters!

Yay for housing, gotti!

Muppet, I approve of that dress. No bondage, check.

I do believe that is a most excelent dress for anybody with a decent figure. The description cracks me up for some reason, though: “the shutter sheath dress.”

I would like to preemptively request a cite on how you look all shuttered up, Muppet. Your friend sounds quite reasonable re. bridesmaid dresses, giving guidelines is definitely much better than “here, y’all will wear these candy wrappers! Aren’t they pretty?!?!?!”

It looks like I’ll have to cancel my Warcrack subscription. Payment is due next month (I’m on the cheap plan, payment every six months) and this not knowing when I’ll be able to connect means that my guildmates can’t rely on me at all, currently I’m as useful to them as a one-legged dog; it’s a source of frustration both for them and for me, as unreliable people is a huge pet peeve of mine. I think that “you can’t believe what he says” is one of the worst things that can be said about anybody, and even if in this case it isn’t my fault, it’s still not good for anybody’s ulcers. Once the uni claims it’s solved or Christmas arrives (whichever is sooner), I’ll use a trial account to test the connection.

Went out. Bought more movies. Went out to eat. Came home. iTunes finally stopped misbehaving so I restocked my US account. And Doom Classic came out for iPhone, so I’m a happy camper.

@Taters - No, no. I’m certain it’s still camping in my keyboard at work. Waiting. Plotting. If I go back on Monday and find my keyboard wrapped in a silk cocoon though, I’m going right back home 'til they deal with it. Preferably with fire.

I dunno, Mindy. You might want to investigate your ear with a Q-tip or something.:D;)

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN TGIS!!!

MinDude maybe by Monday the spiderlings will have hatched out, hacked into your 'puter and started a website all about your torrid love affair with Celine Dion. They are nefarious little things after all!

Ok, time for more caffiene and brekkies.

Happy Saturday Y’all!

Awake unreasonably early.

Forgot to tell you that that is a very cool dress, Muppet. (And rosie, you’ll get there! Keep going on that project.)

Yay for a new address, gotti, even if you’re sad about moving. It’s nice to know that you’ll have a place to land.

Have a great trip, Taters!

Getting a bit sleepy again. Maybe I’ll try falling asleep again.

Back later…
