Because Nobody Else Did, Here's The MMP

I agree with rigs Skype has kept me and mr ems sane this year him being in Cali and me in Paris.

I am sooooooo tired from being away 2 weeks so I am off to bed. Nighty night!

Get well soon all the sickies!

Howdy Y’all! One down and four to go!

It’s rainin’ buckets today. Really heavy rain. I won’t be surprised if we have flash flood watches/warnings soon. Ick!

rigs here’s hopin’ #2son recovers quick. Poor kid.

It’s nice to have dindin pretty much all ready. I made a pot roast with some new N.O.T. and baby N.O.C. yesterday. Leftover peas and butter beans shall serve as the accompanyin’ green veggie. I think I shall make some biscuits cause it’s ick out and biscuits are good for the ick. Plus that way I won’t look like a slacker who microwaves meals.

Cap’n hope the job in St. Louis works out for ya and ya get to see your friend soon.

Think I’ll go out on the back porch, cold beerverage in hand and watch it rain.

Hey folks. Hubby is off to Switzerland so I"m doing the solo gig again. I hear tell that there is chocolate is Switzerland…
The middle school in my town shut down because of H1N1- 45% of the kids are sick. My son said each of high school classes at at least 5 kids out.

Yikes.

Ok, I’m up from my nap. The real question is, will I get my butt in gear and make it to water aerobics?

Forty-five minutes to go and I still haven’t decided.

Chicken fried steak, mashed NOT, cream gravy and regular ol’ peas for dinner at my house.

Y’all come!

See you in a few ReBo! Just need to find a dog sitter, pack and book my flight!

Dindin was tres num but now I have a strange urge for some chicken fried steak.

Could one have steak fried chicken? I think Rebo should experiment and report back with her results.

All in favor say “Aye”

AYE!!!

All those opposed [del]like we’d listen[/del] say “Nay”

::crickets::

Motion carries. The people have spoken.

Pie, I can identify with your flea issues - we dealt with them earlier this year. Lots of vacuuming helped, as did shampooing carpets, critters, and bedding. OK, the bedding went in the washer, but still… Hope you get it under control.

Been running since I came home. I got some chickie out to thaw (we did chickie tenders) then ran to CVS to get my Lipitor, then to McKay’s for dessert - a carrot cake that looks yum! The full cake was priced $7.99. Half a carrot cake was $8.99. I do not understand that.

SIL found a little snake in their bathroom, so daughter will be taking it to school tomorrow. It’s a little snakelet, very pretty and smooth, greyish-brown solid color. I foresee another classroom pet.

What else - rainy day. **FCD **was chased home from work by a Lysol-weilding receptionist. He’s actually feeling better, but he sounds awful, so they made him leave. His charcoal came today, so that’s now in the filter, and the water in the tank is nice and clear. I felt OK when I got to the office, but my head sooned clogged up and the sneezes set in. I don’t know if I’m getting sick or if there’s something in the office I’m allergic to. I’m still a little snuffly. We’ll see how I do tomorrow.

Is it Firday yet??

We’ve identified the snake. He is way cool!

Home and dry. Busy day at work. Cops in the elevator when I came into the building, heading up to the 14th floor for a domestic beef from the little snippet of conversation I heard between the cops and the guy (neighbour?) who called it in. The joys of apartment living…

Probably gonna order pizza for dinner. Got a $35 credit at Pizza Hut 'cos their last delivery arrived cold 'cos they made it way before the driver could pick it up to deliver it, so I think I’m gonna use it up on pizza 'n wings again.

Swampus - What, exactly, would steak-fried chicken consist of? Chicken boobs sautéed in Worcestershire and caramelized onions and served with sauteed mushrooms and HP?

I get all excited when I get to see my best friend more than once a year (it’s been twice this year - woo hoo!). She’s technophobic, so we haven’t quite made it to Skype yet.

Hope the fleas are gone by now, Pie.

I don’t want it to be Firday just yet, because I have lots and lots to do before then (we have a MAJOR implementation this weekend).

Hope that all those who are feeling poorly are better very very soon.

Off to find some food.

Mindude that’s exactly why Rebo [del]got drafted[/del] volunteered to find out. We need to nail down the particulars for makin’ steak-fried chicken and she’s from Texas so I figure she’s the one to do it.

It’s rainy and I’s sleepified. Think I’ll go watch a little teevee whilst in bed until I start to drift off to sleepybye land.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Starting to sound like I was the trend-setter around here for catching H1N1. I need to do some research - apparently in California, if you stay home to not infect the rest of the world, you not only get to take the time off from work as FMLA time and not affect your sick or PTO time, but you are also supposed to get paid.

That would be a tidy extra bit of money, seeing as how I had to take all of that time unpaid as I was out of PTO time.

Right now, though, I’m in Mr. Magoo mode, fresh from a visit to the eye doctor. I’m surviving by cutting the resolution on my monitors. Things have a bit of a blur and color fringe, but it’s tolerable.

There’s nothing worse for a manicure than a pistachio that won’t open.
Other than that

Oh - I had a :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: moment today (much bigger than a V8 moment)
That promotion position I’d applied for in July?
Our employment opportunities are hosted by BrassRing.com. A while ago on that site, I’d filled out every little box on my profile, including the “prior work experience” boxes. I assumed (yes I know, never assume) that clicking on “submit resumé” would automatically populate that information into some sort of document, accessible by the recruiters. There wasn’t anything that said otherwise, and I didn’t ask anyone.
I hadn’t heard anything from them all this time. about a month ago, my local HR director check on my status and told me I was on the short list.
Today I find out that because I never actually submitted a resumé (my profile is my “private” property), I was rejected out of hand for a candidate who did submit one
I am such a dolt.

Yeah, people have suggested that, but she’s never on Gchat, so why would she be on Skype? I don’t mean to shoot your suggestion down, it just doesn’t seem any better than what I have now.

Thanks. I’m still wondering about the best time to contact a campaign that hasn’t really gotten started yet; I think probably after this election would be best, but I’m not sure.

did you ask her?

Gah! Will the craziness ever end?! Long day, now made even longer. My son wants to practice driving my Expedition for his driver’s license test. He’s afraid the crack in the windshield of his car will get his test cancelled.

Bah, I just worked all day, stopped for groceries, need to cook dinner and now he wants to go out and drive. Hopefully, he’ll not want to drive for too long.

I know, I know, I need to quit sniveling. I’m trying, but I’m just grumpy because I’m the one doing all the running around and I still need to pack for my trip and charge all the batteries for the cameras and clear my picture card, and just plain get organized. Plus, I need to find out what food the kids want in my absence and buy that too. Plus, go to the bank and withdraw a little spending money for the trip. Plus…plus…plus…

Plus, I need to color my hair. It appears I won’t have time to get into the salon before I leave for a root job and hair cut. I want at least the roots the same color as the rest of my hair.

It’ll all get sorted out. I’m just stressing, I guess.

I don’t wanna clean the litterboxes. Anyone want to do it for me?

I’ve already handled entirely too many unpleasant chores today. So far, I:

  • resisted hitting the snooze button a second time
  • got dressed in the dark
  • took a 90-min conference call… over what should have been my lunch break
  • went to the dentist for a cleaning and checkup
  • took the garbage out

Seriously, I’m over quota. As it is, I’ll need a slice of chocolate banana bread and a long bubble bath to restore balance in my universe.

Well, the practice drive wasn’t too bad. He complained about the size of my rig and didn’t understand how I park it with such ease. I explained it’s all in what you’re used to driving.

Additionally, I didn’t have to cook. Mr. Taters asked me to stop by McDonalds, so I picked up dinner for the family and two of my daughter’s friends.

Other than that, I guess I got nuttin’.

Howdy. Water aerobics didn’t work out too well. I was only in the water for about 20 minutes because it was making me nauseous. I couldn’t even handle the hot tub for more than about 30 seconds. So… I got showered early and ran off to do some grocery shopping so that I have more time to spend with TVMan tomorrow.
