Because some of us are awake already, a Place Holder MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 49 degrees Amurrkin and very windy with a predicted high of 68. Forecast says cooler, drier weather. Well, duh!

Bumba appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for a good report from the cardiologist.

Ashes[sup]2[/sup] maybe you were channelin’ Laverne and Shirley.

StickyBuns glad your snit and presentation are over.

kanga appropriate/inapproopriate appendages crossed re psych doc visit.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. At least it’s Firday.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Woohoo! I’m up and have taken some Aleve so that I can actually function. Soon I’ll start creating a new style of zombie. I’m trying to think of a name for him. ZombieZilla? MegaZombie? ZombieXL? I don’ know. I’ll post a picture of him later if I can.

Sometimes life is so unfair… **FCD **took the day off, so he wasn’t up showering at 5. Scruffy is still sound asleep at 6:45. Why am I awake? I could have slept in… oh well.

**Bumba **- I know the cats were big in Maryland and parts of PA - maybe it was just local kitsch? After all, FL has flamingoes on every lawn, right?

**kanga **- good luck! My sweetie had a time getting his meds straight, and at one point, one stopped working - that was a fun time. But better living thru chemistry!

**gt **- my sis said some of her neighbors commented on the cats, and she suggested a business partnership. yeah, not gonna happen. For all the aggravation those things cause me, since I make them one-at-a time and not from a mold, I’d have to charge $100 each just to feel like I wasn’t giving them away. Sis got a deal - she’s just paying for the materials.

I’ve been productive already - I’ve ordered a cord of wood for delivery on Monday. Now I just need to figure out where I’ll put it all. Last time we got wood, it was half a cord, and it was a challenge storing it all. I will put a big stack in the garage and some will go down by the basement for the fireplace down there. Still, 128 cuft is a lot of wood… it’ll be a busy day for me.

Don’t forget this is the weekend we change our clocks in the states, except for a few mutant states…

Happy Firday!!!

Doubt they will. I always have the same ritual:
blood-extraction person: “which vein?”
me: “the left is less bad”
bep: looks at left. Drops it like my arm’s on fire. Looks at right. Pokes at right with finger. Pokes, pokes, pokes. Tells me to close fist, open fist, pump fist. Pokes, pokes. At this point there is a decision point: some move to poking the left arm, some insist on needle-poking the right.

I do promise the left is less bad, and I hate ending up with bruises on the inside of both arms when the BEP isn’t the local Bad Veins Expert.

I have roll-y veins in my arms, and I always tell them to poke the back of my left hand. There’s even a small scar there, it’s been poked so much. Last time I finally let this one vampire named Milton try my arm. He got it in one! I trust him because I’ve been seeing him for many years. He actually works for Quest, but is located right in my doctor’s office! So convenient.

So I took my car to the collision place, and they said they couldn’t take the car until Monday. Insurance guy did the inspection and took pictures, though. I told them I didn’t want to drive around with a floppy trunk (that sounds dirty!) and the collision guy took it in the back and got the trunk closed for me. So I’ll take it back on Monday, which I already have off from irk.

Which means I’m here at irk on my normal Friday off. Rah.

I HAVE to work on my project today. Swampy, when you come back in here, I need a kick in the butt today, ok? It’s due on Dec 8.

I’ve read but didn’t retain - so Rosie’s sig to all! Mwah!

I was surprised to see that the inside of my left arm bruised yesterday. She only poked once, for a quick second, and I almost never bruise. What’s up with that?

Rebo, young lady, have you started on that project yet? No? I didn’t think so. It’s not going to finish itself you know. The sooner you start the sooner you finish. Now, march yourself right in there and get busy! No excuses. I’m tired of hearing excuses. Don’t you make that face at me! Do you want your face to freeze like that? I said march right in there and get started. NOW! Not a peep out of you until you’re done. Stop that! I heard that! I said MARCH!

Howzzat?

I keep trying, but it keeps going back to normal!

My veins are awesome. With my totally perfect veins, my very high platelet count, and my universal plasma, the Red Cross LOVES me. Too bad I can’t donate more than a few times a year because of transportation issues (I always seem to be sick when I have a car and the time).
Speaking of sick, I think my cold is working its way to bad again. Out of breath and back to a runny nose and feeling completely worn out. Went to bed at 9pm and slept til 10am - without a sleeping pill. Ugh.
Going back to the homework grindmill as I fight the urge to go back to sleep for the weekend.
rosie’s sig to all. :frowning:

She might have gone through the other side, then pulled the tip of the needle back to the middle of the flow.

I’m shakin’ that tree, boss…

Had that happen earlier this year when I was donating platelets. Didn’t catch it until the reinfusion started. I ended up with a HUGE rock hard black and purple bulge on my arm that too about 3 weeks to go away. Luckily we caught it fast enough and she was able to correct it and save the session so I could keep donating.

Then what are you doin’ postin’ then? :dubious:

Good luck with the cardiologist,** Bumba.**

I was up early and then went back to bed. Got up again at 8:00 and have coffee in hand.

My daughter is coming down today to hang out and I promised I’d take her to lunch, so I’ll have to get in the shower here pretty soon.

We’re going to our friends’ house tomorrow night for a Dexter night and are taking the dogs with us. They do well over there and they’ll get to play with Wilma and Betty (the friends’ dogs).

We tried a new place for breakfast - it was cheap, anyway. They only took cash - luckily, I had enough. Since we were in LaPlata, we ran to their Lowe’s (a really nice, new, clean store) then to my school to pick up my monster head, then to McKay’s for their seafood sale. We got 2 beautiful tuna steaks, some crab legs for supper tonight, and some shrimps and oysters that **FCD **is going to chop up to make fish food.

I have one of those food saver machines, so I vacu-packed the tuna steaks and tossed them in the freezer, then cut up two big blocks of cheese and vac-packed them in smaller portions to minimize molding. Last chore was to scan some medical bills and email them to the company that handles FCD’s health benefits card. So that’s all done. I need to change into a grubby shirt and go mess around in my studio for a bit.

All in all, a nice Firday here. Plus crab legs for supper - YAY!

Yay it is Friday and as soon as I finish up these slides for yet another presentation I am leaving for PT.

I just need to work up the energy to do the slides.

Weekend plans involve not much as mr ems may have to work tomorrow. If he does I will work a bit on this contract related to the above slides then probably go wander around Target  or finishe up Christmas shopping online.

Right slides! Must do them!

How did it go Bumba?
I’ve made some progress. Read the In Depth section on Phytochemicals and finished one of the 2 discussions. Usually we have 1 chapter to read and 2 discussions with a quiz. Last week (the week I’m still trying to finish) we had 2 chapters and an In Depth, 5 discussions, and 3 quizzes. This was also supposed to be the week before our not really “optional” paper was due. I love college. I really do. But, I’m suffering from transferitis (the college transfer student version of senioritis). I have 2 more months at QCC and then it’s on to UConn and I am so excited but I just want this semester to be over with because I’m just not feeling it.
Heard from the student life guy. Apparently I’m supposed to be getting a stipend for volunteering as an Orientation Leader. I thought volunteering implied not being paid but I’m certainly not going to say no. Will be doing it again for spring orientation, as long as it doesn’t interfere with my own orientation.

I hate to say it but I’m totally not feeling Halloweenie today. I think I might just put the candy on the porch with a sign to not be greedy. I don’t think I can deal with constantly getting up to open the door.

Lost power for about 10 seconds. I hope it was because someone is working on the lines and not because the wind is helping my tree to pull the lines down. I know they know about the tree but they don’t seem particularly concerned with dealing with it. I’m not touching it as long as it’s resting on the electric and cable lines though so they’re just gonna have to hope it doesn’t finish falling down before they get to it.

major blurfage

Huh? Halloween was on Monday…

seriously, this post is like out of a time machine.

My town postponed it until today because of the massive power outages, downed trees and electrical lines, black ice - the whole shebang. Worcester did theirs last night. I think most of the state postponed it.
The tree guys came and took care of my tree. They cut it in half and pushed the top half off the wires. Then they pulled the whole tree onto our yard and off the road. Seems simple enough but if I had tried it, I’d probably have knocked out power to the whole town.
