As far as productivity around here, nothing really has been done. I am sitting here with color in my roots though. I hate doing my own hair.
I found out some things about my ex-boss, who is now the boss of an old friend of mine. I also found out ex-boss has been trash talking me big time. I also found out she has been counseled FOUR TIMES on her performance, or lack of it, since her arrival there in mid-July. She’s also been kicked out of numerous meetings because she was not prepared. She and her daughter (whom she now works with) are a very big embarrassment to their command.
She gathered her staff last week and told them she was retiring because the expectations for her job are too high and she was getting ulcers from the job. I don’t feel one fucking bit sorry for her.
Aaah, karma. Gotta love it. She made my life a living hell. The fact that I am still taking up enough space in her head that she has to trash talk me at another command lets me know how majorly fucked up she is. She told bald-faced lies about me and I will not have her fucking up my reputation command wide.
The trash talking will desist though and I’m going to have it done through regional headquarters. I’m doing it officially. It’s one thing in the confines of my own office, but now, she’s taken it to another command. She done fucked with the wrong person.
Chicken soup almost done cooking. Beef soup in the crock pot for the rest of the night. Stuffed peppers almost ready for stuffing and baking. My freezer’s gonna be full of yum tonight!
It’s not so much the thing with the Dope being blocked at work and my needing to use my phone to read or post as it is that I’ve been fairly busy learning my way around the new place, then busier than hell getting the house ready for onslaught of guests for the Royal Wedding, which is in 6 days, 18 hours and a6 minutes.
Got some drawing done (well it’s half tracing, but it’s from a 3d render and I add clothes). My portfolio blog is starting to get spam, which means something. Making progress on my current project - making boxes to organize my kimono wardrobe.
There will be if we send him some. Boxes and boxes of hats, with feathers and veils and birds and sparklies…
And I can add 2 more Mumpers to my “met” list. And don’t worry, gt, I won’t tell everyone else what you said about them…
I keeed, I keeeed!! In fact, after I dropped you off, my ride seemed to go on forever, even with Billy Joel’s help. You kept me entertained for the first part of the trip, and for that I thank you!
kopek told his share of funny stories, and I think his wife needs to join us - she was right at home in the group. **gt **and I also agreed that someone needs to win a major lotto and get us all together for a MumperFest. So someone needs to get on that pronto!!
As for today - I see some transplanting being done, at least till my back gives out. And some laundry. But mostly, it’ll be a day for chilling. Unless something else comes up. We shall see.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 53 degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89. Cool mornin’s and warm afternoons means Fall down heah.
Taters sic 'em! Go after her with pointy sticks. Then come back and give us all the details.
I say it’s not a royal weddin’ without crazy hats so CatDude needs to get busy shoppin’. Chicago is big so there must be at least one royal weddin’ crazy hat store, right?
Last night’s doin’s was a success. Go Me! Almost all the food was et up which is a good thing. Smoked chikin always seems to be a success. Also everybody ranted and raved over the mac 'n cheese with chile peppers. What? It’s good!
Ok, we need to vote.
All those in favor of gt gettin’ us started off tomorrow say “AYE.”
AYE!!!
All those opposed [del]like we even care[/del] say “NAY.”
::crickets::
The “AYES” have it. gt shall be our hostess with the mostest with an assortment of bagels and schmeer.
Now I must seek more caffiene and feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
I shudder to think about the CatBride’s reaction to crazy hat appearances. She’s not getting tense, but she is marrying into a fairly conservative family. On the other hand, his friends and her friends are very likely to bust out crazy hats, or Groucho glasses at some point. There WILL be pictures galore. We have a room at the hotel, I’m planning to take two cameras in case one battery goes.
This week’s task: write the “welcome/toast” I have to give. I’m thinking I start with them laughing, and finish strong making them cry. If I don’t have at least half the women in the room in tears by the time I’m done, it’ll be a loss.
Friends here that know me on FB, the Final Five Amazing Facts should be a strong finish to what I originally took on as a pretty formidable task.
Non-FB friends: So you know, when the Royal Wedding was 99 days out, I started posting once each day, an amazing/mundane/funny/dramatic true fact or story about the CatBride, counting down til this Saturday. It’s hard to think you could tell 99 stories about your kid, but it wasn’t as hard as I thought. Actually, getting down to the last couple weeks, I even edited some of the more mundane out.
Wow. My little baby is going to be Mrs. Some Other Guys Name. She’s going to keep her maiden name, and use it as a second middle name w/o a hyphen. As in: “First Middle Maiden His”. I approve.
CatDude: That is a wonderful thing you’ve been doing! Are you compiling your stories anywhere besides FB? I think that would be a lovely gift for your daughter, a hard copy of her father’s memories of her. Swampy: That mac and cheese sounds yummy!
Finished my cooking. The stuffed peppers came out great, according to Sweetie. I’ve never eaten a stuffed pepper and have no clue what they’re supposed to taste like. I still haven’t eaten one. I wrapped the 4 extras and froze them. The chicken soup was good, as always (I make damn good chicken soup, if I do say so myself). I haven’t tried the beef soup. I actually just turned the crockpot off, it cooked all night. Once it cools, I’ll bag it up and freeze it.
It’s gloriously chilly in the house today. I’m snuggled up in my nice thick bathrobe. Gotta finish my history homework at the bare minimum today, 'cause it’s due today.
We have breakfasted, made a quick stop at Lowe’s, checked on the boat, and when we came home, I started a load of whites and vacuumed the landing and steps down to the basement. Go me! When the laundry is done, I may tackle moving some hosta.
We need to remember to start closing the house at night - it was 61 in here this morning. No wonder the cat was plastered next to me!! Later in the week, it’s supposed to drop into the 40s at night, so other than having the bedroom windows open a wee bit, the house will be closed. Getting close to furnace time. boo.
