Today, once coffee has been ingested and recycled, I am going to attempt to get a shoe onto my left foot and head to the doc’s for a bp check. wish me luck
Oh mmmmmmmmms Sorry to hear about your Echo. There is a paddock up at the Rainbow bridge, you can be sure.
Brussels Sprouts, EYUK!
GT, I’m leaving at 4:30. Now I don’t feel quite as bad about not having all my stuff packed.
(((Rebo)))
Luck, rosie!
Glad you guys like the sticky!!
Thank you for your kind words!
Mmmm… brussels sprouts…
I may have to go buy some butternut squash now, it’s definitely roast stuff weather…
FCM, they started the place when I was 8, so yeah, kind of grew up there- they didn’t have big animals then, their new kitty’s a lot bigger and more dangerous than anything I grew up with (though apparently mum’s got away with under chin tickles on a few occasions). My aunt was visitin’ same time as me, and just emailed me a few piccies of kitteh, just tryin’ to find somewhere to stick 'em up. They’re in the process of getting him a girlfriend, so in a few years, we might have little big kittys!
Oh, mmmmms - how sad. I’m so sorry.
{{{{mmmmmmmm}}}} - so sorry you couldn’t be there.
I’ve tried brussels sprouts a variety of ways and they always taste bitter to me. I make them for my sweetie, and he seems to love them no matter how I cook them. Each to his/her own, I guess.
**Filbert **- I use photobucketfor my pics - it’s pretty easy to set up an account there and upload stuff, which is why *I *use it.
Anyway, taking a break. I just re-re-re-treated the recliner for the cat urine odor. I think I finally tracked down the remaining vestiges. We’ll see when it dries out. Then I vacuumed all but the bedrooms, followed by some spot-cleaning of the family room and dining room with the carpet cleaner. As damp as it is today, I expect it’ll take a while for it all to dry. But at least it looks cleaner.
I should probably finish my afghan so I can get it out of the living room and start another one. Guess I need to see what I want to watch on Netflix…
(((((Rebo))))) - you are very brave to do what you’re doing, I am not sure I could do the same thing. Saying goodbye is so tough especially when you know that’s what the trip is essentially for.
(((((mmmmmms))))), such very sad news. At least Echo had a couple of friendly faces at the end and even a vet that must have been known and trusted. Still very sad though.
(((((rosie))))), hope the shoe fits!
I have been out for most of the day, coffee this morning with a friend in town and then lunch with the girls from my old office. Tonight I’m off to the pub with some other folks too, it’s a packed social whirl for me!
I was going to try out the new mop and get the floors clean, but Ophie has decided she wants to be on my lap instead for a little snooze. How am I supposed to deny her?
I may have mentioned this before - but I decided. In my next life, I’m coming back as a well loved house cat. Man, that is The. Life. =^.^=
**ems, **I’m so sorry. Big hugs to you.
I’m not a fan of brussels sprouts either because they always taste bitter to me as well.
I decided to take a mental health day. It’s not like I can do much of anything at work, so I’ll just save the gas and the money I would have spent buying lunch today. It’s very frustrating to go into work and not be able to actually, you know, work. So, if I’m going to sit around, I’ll just do it at home.
Actually, there are a couple of things I could do, but I can do them tomorrow.
(((ems))) I’m so sorry.
Didn’t go to taijitsu last night, but played DDR instead. I’m not too out of practice, or at least I did about as well as I usually do.
Howdy from irk again. Havin’ N.O.L.. BK swiss/mushroom burger does not impress.
{{{mmmmmms}}} Just know that Echo had a long, wonderful life and was surrounded by people he loved and loved him. Still doesn’t make it any sadder.
And now from the Food Network… “Cooking With Satan!” :eek:
{{{{{{rosie}}}}}}}}
{{{{{{mmmmmmm}}}}}}
I’m so sorry you guys.
Went to the bookstore after class last night and Sweetie bought me a box of Spanish vocab flash cards. I went through it and picked out the words I have no reason to know (only about 1/8 of the box). The other 7/8 got divided into 6 piles. My goal is to memorize a pile a day so that by my next class, I don’t look like an idiot because I can’t remember what suerte and sobre mean! Doing well so far. My first stack only had 3 words I kept blanking on (the aforementioned suerte and sobre, along with caminar).
Had another tornado dream last night. Been having them off and on ever since our totally random tornado in June. Usually they follow the real course of events with the tornado staying about a mile away. Last night it obliterated my house. Ugh. I don’t like these dreams.
It’s chilly in the house today. Might need to curl up with a blanket and some dogs while I do homework.
My mom gave me another batch of jewelry yesterday. I keep telling her I’ve got enough but she is so worried about missing a treasure that she keeps getting more. I broke apart a bunch of stuff and made her 2 new bracelets. I also made her a clay sock monkey necklace and a zipper pull charm. I can’t believe I forgot to take a pic of the sock monkey!
**{{{{mmmmmmm}}}}**I’m so sorry about your Echo. They are never with us long enough. But now Echo is running free in the pasture at the Bridge. I’ll give my WB an extra carrot and hug in honor of Echo.
Thanks everyone for {{}}
our whole family is a mess. He was an amazing horse and everyone loved him.
Shortdrum, Maybe do some mental pictres before you go to sleep about conquering the tornado, or it going away.

By some miracle, I am all packed!!! Hopefully will be able to post from FL, but if not, Love y’all! & see ya when I get back.
Oh, ems. I’m so sorry.
Haven’t read anything else. Off to teach and then heading up to shortdrum land for a conference. I can not wait. There is a quiet room, a TV, a minifridge and a hot tub in my future!
{{{mmmmmmmms}}}
{{Taters}} 'cause it sounds like you need a couple hugs too.
We had brussels sprouts last night. They were goooooooood! I either roast them or saute them until they’re just a little brown, usually with some sort of nuts. Pecans or hazelnuts are good. Always add salt; it eliminates the bitterness, something about blocking the bitter receptors on one’s tongue. Good Eats talked about it, but I don’t remember all that well. In any case, I think swampy had better not come to our house for dinner since I’d probably serve brussels sprouts and pumpkin and he’d be a good gentleman and eat it but be miserable.
It was a busy Monday and Tuesday and now I don’t feel like doing work.
{{{{{{mmmmmmm}}}}}} But that must have been a long, full, happy life for Echo.
Hugs to all who need 'em.
I went kaboom! at work today. It’s been a long time coming, but I’m very embarrassed that it came to that. :o I had a long talk with my boss afterwards and I didn’t quit, but that’s always an option later, I suppose. My office isn’t toxic, per se, but there is a tremendous lack of communication, which results in all kinds of mistakes and assumptions and people at cross-purposes. At least my boss wants to keep me, so that’s a positive. He did offer to help me find something else if I wanted, and he meant it. He’s one of the best bosses I’ve ever had.
That’s not too far. shortdrum land is about 1 minute away from the land of Nutmeg. Have I mentioned how much I love the smell of ground nutmeg? Smells like autumn it does.
“Congratulations Mr. Vunder, it’s a tumor.”
VWife is doing fine and bossier than usual. Naptime for me.
