Mac-n-cheese from a box for supper. I didn’t feel like cooking real food.
Still snowing. Pics on my FB page!

I made it to the finals! Now please vote me into the win!
(Aunt Mabel wanted to pepper up her romance with Uncle Wally)
“Only existing photo of the Donner party” is pretty funny.
Just saying. ![]()
Corned beef, cabbage and other veggies have been ingested. I done good if’n I do say so myself. Plus, brownies with ice cream and hot fudge sauce when desired. Right now we’s both stuffded. OYKW is preparin’ to soak in the tub as he is wont to do.
Tomorrow shall be blustery and cold accordin’ to the weather PTB. Thus I have no plans to be out and about. Well, except I should go to a funeral at two p.m. Don’t want to, but should.
rosie I voted.
yes, but I need to win something so that my existance can be validated. ![]()
Thank you. See, flytrap? That’s all you had to say.
sunny, the good folks at the Lodge company make enameled cast iron cookware. https://www.lodgemfg.com/
I bought an enameled casserole for my nephew a couple of years ago and he likes it. I own several skillets and dutch ovens (non-enameled) myself. Of course, I just make a field trip to South Pittsburg, TN to the company store for mine. ![]()
Still snowing, but it’s dark out and I don’t feel like turning on lights, so no clue how deep it is. It’ll be a surprise in the morning, I guess. Or when we take Higgs out for her pre-bed pee.
I’s tahred - hope I can sleep in tomorrow. We shall see.
Meanwhile, MWAH!!
Meant to tell you I voted and will again.
‘Tis windy and chilly out but nuttin’ like you Mumpers up north are dealin’ with. Y’all be safe!
Vote early, and often. :dubious:
Voted again Rosie. Tried to double dip on iPad and phone. No could do.
Our rain has passed and it is very windy but still hot to me. I have the a/c on now.
I took the leftover beef stew and added some tomatoes, tomato juice, corn and peas. And some fresh cauliflower and tiny penne. OMG. Best I ever made and there is oodles leftover. Will partake on the morrow then freeze what ever is left. May even have some more before beddy bye.
Metal Mouse heard there is surprise snow in Birmingham and Red got snow not predicted. Weather Guessers.
They let us go from irk @ 4pm. I took a dare & stopped at the grocery store. I didn’t need anything but wanted to see iffn I could do the weekly shopping today instead of Sunday. To my utter shock & amazement, it not only wasn’t overrun, but it was still about ½ fully stocked with bread & fully stocked with milk. In fact there was more milk than (on sale) OJ. Imma guessin’ panic shopping has happened in the past few days & they got a truck to restock today. When I walked up front to the cashier, he started scanning as I was putting stuff on the belt - no line at all. Now I don’t gotta move the car until irk time on Moanday. Woo Hoo! As an added bonus, I even decided to fill up the tank since gas was under $2/gallon for the first time in this state!!! (Watch, it’ll be even cheaper on Mon. :()
Snow started just before 7pm & within 15 mins it was already leaving a noticeable covering on the roads. They’re saying up to 2-3" an hour at points tomorrow & have upped the forecast to 15-20" before it moves out.
Charging up the phones & batteries just in case.
To the mid-Atlantic mumpers, remember to shovel like they vote in ArrrghKansas - early & often!
Seriously, you can push a few inches, but you can’t push a foot (or more); it’ll save your back.
:dubious: Voting twice is akin to making Junior High Cafeteria Stew.

Where do you live, Spiderdope, that I may ridicule and mispronounce your state of residence?
Most of the ones they sell new these days are worthless; which has made collecting really tough. Chefs today are buying up the antiques (some over a hundred years old) to resharpen and use. The absolute best if you can secure one is a Case - same company that makes the knives. They hold a fantastic edge even going through bone a lot and can be sharpened with a normal knife steel or one of the newer fancy ceramic sharpeners. Second choice (and one you can just buy new) would be a Russell (Dexter-Russell). For general use I usually recommend a 7 or 8 inch. It seems a little big for taking down a loin but if you get into the ribs you will be grateful. For all the hype over the brand, I have been sadly disappointed in any of the Victorinox ones I’ve seen. They dull fast and can be a living pain in the arse to sharpen. They also seem to take a lit of little nicks.
It is worth it from everything I’ve been told. I’ve been lucky; between church sales and thrift shops I’ve gotten enough vintage enamelware to last me the rest of my life. But if I was buying new I would probably go for Creuset.
I ended up going into work early to help at a hiring event; first look at the prospective new suckers – I MEAN ASSOCIATES I may end up working with. Because of the expected snow, they basically jammed all the packages down our throats as fast as they could and let us all leave at 5 if we wanted to. I wanted to and did. Herself not being used to having me home this early I decided to spend the time with her. Tomorrow we have to drive to Kittanning. I will be watching the salt-truck-tracker with more interest than normal.
Not that anything I do is that normal.
By most standards.
No, I voted for the original and voted again for the finals. Do try to keep up.
Will there be a test?
Is it multiple guess?
And here I was assuming you had relatives in Chicago. Oh — wait. In that case you would have voted four times. ![]()
I tried to double dip on the vote for the finals but alas the computer was smarter. I hope Rosie wins. That’s all.
