Bedding down in the MMP

Happy Birthday Moooom!

Rained some more.

I BBQed anyway. That’s what the gazebo tent is for! Steak, mashed N.O.L. and corn for din-din.

My daughter went down to Monterey today for Whalefest. She spent the day learning about whales and other marine science things. She had fun.

Then she and her brother spent dinner arguing.

Tomorrow’s agenda includes grocery shopping and laundry. Woot! Laundry!

Can I have a proxy bite flytrap on the pass back?
Made stir fry for dinner; just walked upstairs, garlic & sesame oil smells soooo good at the top of the stairs.

So once again I was all alone at work. I was busy, since my store was one of the few open in da Hood.

So say we all.

Why do you hate snakes?

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Long shift at work ,then hockey and football.

Stop flaunting your snow, I want to go on being grumpy about the mist!

The snow has stopped. I’ve cleared a bigger area for Higgs to potty, but she wasn’t impressed earlier. Stoopit dog. Last night, she peed on an afghan - it’s in the washer now with a few other things. And the pellet stove ran out overnight, so I got to refill and restart that.

My sweetie is still sleeping, but when he gets up, I’m going to dress and start clearing the front drive. I should make a path and put a sign on the mailbox asking for a plow, but that’s still 100’ of clearing. My boots aren’t high enough to allow me to slog down there unaided. I suppose I could wrap my legs in plastic bags…

Apart from taking care of the drive and digging out the truck, I’ll be monitoring the base’s FB page to see what the deal is for tomorrow. I expect all plow companies are really busy and I’m pretty sure the base uses locals rather than their own people to clear the roads and parking lots. We shall see how it goes. I don’t think I’d mind a day of leave without pay.

And the SUN is SHINING!!!

So, Happy non-snowy Sunday!!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 27 Amurrkin and sunny out with a predicted high of 52 and sunny for the day. The wind has stopped so at least there’s that.

Be safe all y’all who are diggin’ out from the snow today.

As I mentioned yestiddy, deheathenization includes the Bishop and Confirmations so I guess it shall be longer than usual. There is a reception afterwards which may serve as N.O.L. Other than that, it shall be a lazy day at da cave.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Purtification for deheathenization must also occur at some point.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

I have you beat swampy. I’m going to deheathenize twice today. The last three Sundays the weather has been awful so my mom hasn’t felt like getting out to freeze. Today I’ll take her myself to her church, which also happens to be where I grew up, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod Then we’ll grab a quick cup of coffee and go to my church, the Episcopal cathedral for our diocese. One way or another that ought to hold us for a while!

There’s some kind of shiny bright thing in the sky this morning. I think the world’s coming to an end.

I went to bed at 8 last night and read until I fell asleep. Since it was going to go down to 17 American/ -8 Restoftheworld I actually turned on the heat in my bedroom! Fortunately the power stayed on all night. As soon as my hair dries, I’m going to unearth Polly Subaru and very slowly go to the grocery store.

Baker, I’ve heard of Missouri Synod but here in the South (where people think Lutherans are *Catholic *) we only have ELCA.

Happy Sunday!

It’s cold and white outside. I think we got three feet but probably not.
More shoveling today, not that he got very far last night.

The one question of the day is should we put the trash out? I don’t know of there will be pickup tomorrow.

I have a headache, a sore throat. and a stuffy nose. I’m not around anybody to get sick so I shouldn’t be.

Mostly irk today since I was a slacker yesterday.

‘Friend’ sent me some more texts, I never answered the first one.

I think y’all should also go to an ELCA service to complete the trifecta.

blurf.

The Sun seems extra bright reflecting off all the snow. We ended up with about a foot and a half, with drifts up to three feet, six feet against some buildings.

Yanno, this started out as a joke but it’s actually pretty damn good!

What? Isssh 5 o’clock ssshomewhere.

rosie, you weren’t kidding about all the snow y’all got. There was a yeti in Brooklyn yesterday.

I just got a (legitimate) email from a company I’ve done business with in the past. They’re auctioning off a sweet bike for (a real, bicycle-affiliated) charity. Click on the link, which takes you to e-bay…where they haven’t yet posted the bike for auction. :smack:

The final tally was around 30 or so inches, which beat the previous record by a few inches. We have two cars to dig out and no place to put the snow. Meanwhile. both Target and Bethany have both decided that they like looking at the snow, but that going outside is right out.

No leaving the house today, and there will probably be a snow day tomorrow if the buses don’t run.

And happy birthday to those celebrating!

Happy belated burfday, Mooooommmm!

Hope it was a good one!

Moooommm. Be careful shoveling. Just heard that 5 New Yorkers have died from shoveling.

See this lump

This lump is my truck, if you look real close you can see the antenna and side mirror.

**Butters **- no worries, I have no intention of dying. I set the timer so I wouldn’t be out too long, I paused many times to breathe, and I lifted little shovel loads. Plus while out there, **FCD **took a sign down to our mailbox asking for a plow. A few minutes later, a couple of guys stopped - they’re working for the county just now, but they’ll call when they’re done and come back.

So I abandoned the driveway and set about digging out the truck. I’ll go out again in a bit and dig some more - the worst part is trying to knock the snow off the cab and the bed cover. I think I’ll take a step stool out next time and use a broom to push the snow to the other side. Brilliant, right??

Meanwhile, I really worked up a sweat! But the back brace helped, so there’s that. On the other hand, my transitions took a long time to come back to clear. When I go out again, I’ll wear an old pair. Not that I need glasses to see the piles of snow…

PS - thanks, CrabbyBuns! I had chocolate cake - what more could one want??
