rosie, I am that apparently elusive creature of myth, The Person Who Got Approved For SSDI The First Time Round. Even more elusive, since I didn’t apply for such on my initiative, believing I wouldn’t qualify, but the insurance company paying my long-term disability claim (obtained through my last job, but claim was not related to on the job injury) made me apply as a condition of claiming my LTD benefit. Could have knocked me over with a thread when I was approved.
Aforementioned insurance company is now making me prove my upfuckedness every three months, saying that the SSDI finding isn’t enough. Uplifting to be proclaimed irredeemable over and over again, thanks 
Anyway, there was a service for filing that they insisted I use. No idea if that changed my outcome, or I really am more broken than I think I am, but if you want a recommend or anything PM me

I’m not sure anybody really knows why some people get right in while others have to fight.

I would have a BLURF! but I’s too busy for that. Last week I had an interview for a secondment at work to our assistant team manager job, and I got it. So since Friday I have been person in charge as the actual team manager is not in. Last we heard, her mother was in hospice care in the end stages of terminal bowel cancer at the point where it would be “any day now”. We’ve heard nothing more, except that she won’t be in work this week, so we assume her mother has now passed away and the family are dealing with the aftermath. We’re not expecting to see her back in the office for some time, her mother’s been ill for a while and it’s been a long time coming so I think once it’s all over, the poor woman will just crash.
Anyhoo, I am still doing my old job until they get approval for a temp and find someone suitable for the job, and then I get to train them while I’m still getting to grips with my new job. So it’s been hectic and I have just about reached a point where I can stop for breath. Got a meeting with the big boss this afternoon so I need to make sure I’ve got stuff to talk to him about.
I could do with being at home on my lovely firm mattress snuggled up with the fluffy duvet and the cats…but I must irk.

It’s cold outside. I had to put the dog out this am as Sah-son was doing school work. To make matters worse, the dog had a seizure while Sah-son was taking a timed quiz.
It was a mild seizure, only lasted a few seconds, but it was a distraction.
I’ve been up since something like 4:30. Now I’m feeling it, but I have to irk my morning shift.

I just watched two cars drive by. They didn’t leave tracks in the snow on the road. Have I mentioned yet how glad I am that I don’t have to go to irk today? I have declared it to be a Snow Day and so I shall get nothing done.

Just finished lunch - the last of the veggie beef soup. It made for 2 dinners plus 6 lunches for me. But I think I am tired of it now. Time to make something else. Maybe chickie noodle soup with some of yesterday’s leftovers?
It’s been a crazy busy morning. My engineer keeps changing his mind, plus I don’t always understand his notes. But I think we’ve got 2 parts good to go, and I’m about to attack a couple more. The day is zipping by, so there’s that.
Still below freezing out there, but at least the sun is shining. I have a dark blue car and the solar heat should make it not-freezing when it’s time for me to go home. Here’s hoping!!!
