I could only bring myself to vote for one song : What I Am - Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, though I’m not crazy about it.

And this is also where these polls bisect my personal life. I spent two months in Ontario from August to October 1989.

There are quite a few delightful songs here. I voted for “Lost in Your Eyes,” “Like a Prayer,” “Good Thing,” “Express Yourself,” “So Alive,” “Girl I’m Gonna Miss You,” and “Mixed Emotions.” It looks like I may end up being the only one to vote for some of these songs (especially Debbie Gibson and Milli Vanilli!)

Regarding “Pop Singer,” I don’t think I’ve ever heard it on the radio in the US. I know it ONLY from an episode of Beavis and Butt-head. As I recall, Beavis and Butt-head did not like the video.

“What I Am” by Edie Brickell & New Bohemians take gold. For silver it’s Mike and The Mechanics, and Fine Young Cannibals settle on gold. Love and Rockets, Madonna, U2 round out the top six. Tears for Fears, Phil Collins, Bad English, Richard Marx are the rest of my votes.
