Best store-bought cookie

Shady Maple Farms - Maple Stroopwafels.

Nothing even comes close.

Wedding cookies. I like the bits of stuff in them and the powdered sugar on them.

Mint milanos
Mint oreos
Girl scout thin mints

(I sense a theme)

I came into this thread to say just that, so I agree.

My son, at 8, certainly doesn’t remember the commercial but he is offended — OFFENDED, I tell you — at the notion of being presented a Fig Newton as a cookie.

“This,” he says in disgust, “is nothing but a bar cut into pieces.”

He means the fruit-and-grain bars I have foisted upon my children since they learned to chew, always calling them “cookie bars” in the vain hope that they would be satisfied and wouldn’t beg for a cookie lower on the nutrition scale. (Of course, now, as a 19-year veteran of motherhood, my nutrition-campaigning is far less militant than it used to be.)

Ever since I got a look at my cholesterol numbers, I haven’t eaten many of these, but back in the day, my preference was generic duplex cremes (one side chocolate cookie, the other vanilla, with vanilla creme in the middle - I think the Oreo version is called either 50/50s or Heads Or Tails).

I almost never eat cookies (and when I do, my choice is homemade snickerdoodles), but I do love fig newtons and I’m one of those people who likes those Danish butter cookies that come in those tins.

Stewart’s shortbread

I would love a fig newton right now. Someone bring me one.

Golden Oreos!

Pepperidge Farm Ginger Men.

Linden’s Chocolate Chip

Lorna Doones too…

I loved those! And the Ideal Peanut bar too!

I really like Pepperidge Farm Tahiti cookies now-not enough coconut cookies out there. Nutter Butter wafers are quite good too for my peanut butter cravings.

Hi Lorna… How ya dune?

Sorry. Obligatory Three Stooges reference.

Chewy Molasses-Ginger - Voted “Best Store-Bought Cookie” by Seattle Magazine - November 2008

Their snickerdoodles and chocolate chunk are also good.

TJ’s Triple Ginger Snaps

I can’t say I have a favorite but I’ve always been a fan of Entenmann’s Chocolate Chip cookies.

Also, can anyone recommend a favorite amaretto/almond flavored cookie? I had a few at a friend’s house a couple of years ago and wish I would have asked the brand. They were soft and delicious. I asked later but she couldn’t remember the brand of how she got them.

I like these.

I don’t do cookies much anymore, but I like the wedding cookies, Pepperidge Farms Brussels and Murray SF fudge wafers. If I could find the kind of ginger snaps my grandpa used to buy in bulk at the local grocery, they would be at the top of the store-bought cookie list.

I just tried some of these last week. They’re great! Little bits of candied ginger in the gingersnaps - could become very addictive.
