I actually bought those once but they weren’t what I was looking for. The ones I had were soft, and not crunchy like those.
Seriously, these things are like crack.
A bit hard to find, but worth it. They sell them at some Safeways around here.
Mallomars are good too, and similar.
Who loves them some Moon Pies? Admit it.
Madame Pepperwinkle loves her some Moon Pies. I think they’re okay, but I’d rather have a Pinwheel.
Hydrox were the best. Now all you can find are knock-offs.
Never could stand them. Don’t go much for marshmallow cream.
RC Cola’s not bad, though.
I did like moon pies. I remember the banana-flavored ones too.
I seriously just got up and ate four fig newtons.
Do you have your local emergency room’s number handy?
Why are Nutter Butters so dang expensive? Nad has anyone found a cheaper substitute with good PB flavor??? Love these things, but my pocket book hates them!!!
I think most of the peanut butter flavor is in the cookie part anyway. Once when I opened up a nutter butter to lick off the filling, I remember it not tasting much like peanut butter at all.
Mine are lemon coolers (not available in thailand), fig newtons (not available in thailand) and ginger snaps (not available in thailand). Oreos are good but didn’t make the list because I usually feel sick after eating a bag of them.
I believe I have seen Fig Newtons at the main Villa Supermarket in Bangkok, near The Emporium. 90% sure.
I bet they’re at least 300 baht per bag. Dammit don’t make me come down there!
As an added kicker, that Villa is the only place I’ve seen Butterfinger candy bars over here. Giant ones too.
I couldn’t read the whole thread because I started getting cravings with the first few posts! I never met a Pepperidge Farm cookie I didn’t like, as well as any kind of Newton (including fig! I also like the very thin Anna cookies.
I don’t like *any *commercial soft cookies. I like them home-made, but the store ones all have the same kind of flavor, which I think must be a preservative that keeps them soft. Can’t stand it.
Safeway/Von’s has these soft, frosted cookies with sprinkles that are amazing. They taste like mini cakes and they’re sooo heavenly. Of course, can’t forget Girl Scouts either. Love me some Thin Mints!
Oreos
Yep, I was in that Villa Supermarket tonight, and sure enough, there they were. Fig Newtons. The real stuff, from Nabisco. 195 baht for a 12-ounce package.
I’m generally not a fan of sweets, but the Nabisco Snackwell’s Devil’s Food cookies, the ones with the thin layer of marshmallow and covered in chocolate, are like crack to me. I could easily chomp through an entire box of those things.
I second your kids on this - the walmart brand sandwich cookies - any flavor (lemon is my particular fave) - are GOOD things!
I also like fig newtons - but I especially like them after I’ve refrigerated them. They taste even yummier cold.
