Yeah, it sucks because I liked them both so much at first. Now they’re both pissing me off and I’m starting to like people like Eric and Jessica. What the hell is wrong with me?
Woah! Drop what you’re doing, and go to the emergency room. Now. 
I’m going on vacation tomorrow so hopefully that will take care of my delusions. 
What a paranoid, raging moron dick is becoming. It’s not just that he’s bullying and abusive and paranoid, but he’s stupid too. A lot of what he was saying and doing made no sense. Kail and Jen were on the block and he told Jen that Kail was trying to get everyone to vote out Jen instead of herself. well duh.
He told Jen not to do anything to help Kail in the POV comp. Well double duh. Why would she want to help Kail instead of herself?
Then during the comp, he starts trying to browbeat Jen into giving up, telling her she’s “being stupid” for trying to win it. I wasn’t exactly a Jen fan after her “bad picture” sob-a-thon but I was kind of happy about how she stood up to Dick and didn’t let him ruffle her.
Also, it was kind of cool how Mike woudn’t let himself get intimidated either. Dick kept threatening to put him on the block and Mike was just like, “Whatever. It’s a game. I’m bigger than a game.” I don’t know if Mike even really cared about being loyal to Kail at that moment so much as he just decided he wasn’t going to take any shit from Dick no matter what.
I don’t think the house will evict Mike. He’s been pretty lowkey and inoffensive and is maybe the only person in there who isn’t the slightest bit intimidated by Dick (well…Jen seems pretty impervious as well. I think I’m starting to like her in strange way. She might by weird and self-absorbed but she hasn’t been mean and there’s something kind of indominatable about her that I’m starting to find endearing) and he’s probably helped his standing in the house by pissing off Dick. I still expect Kail to go and I still won’t be sorry, but hey, “it’s in God’s hands.”
No kidding he’s stupid. Did you notice when mustardgate was unfolding that Dick asked Jen how she slept all night without getting mustard on her? Duh, Dick. It just got there. Too funny. I was impressed that Jen was a pretty good sport about the mustard thing. Nothing seems to faze her. That could take her far.
Dick has got to get his head together. He’s been making for great TV, but he’s going to find himself out on his ass if he doesn’t calm down.
Let’s just assume for a moment that things go as expected with this week’s eviction and it’s Kail. I see that as almost unanimous. Then assume whoever gets HOH puts up Dick and some pawn (anybody else). Dick goes out in a blaze of hate.
What’s left? Why would anybody care about the rest of the season?
Well, the only poor reason I could think to keep watching would be to be annoyed by Jen. But she’s probably the next out the door. Dick is the key to making this show watchable. I agree.
The only thing about the pawn angle is that it seems that pawns (IIRC) tend to get booted quite a bit.
IIRC, pawns get turned on when there’s a strong player against them with some reasonable support in the other houseguests. I believe Dick is not just burning bridges but eroding the banks they were standing on. Is there anybody Dick could get to side with him now and jettison a pawn? The only likely pawn to go before Dick is Jen.
What I really want to happen – and why I’ll keep watching after Dick gets zapped – is for Ding Dong to mess up so bad on one of his America’s Assignments that he gets himself booted. That will make this season worthwhile for me.
I’m only watching the CBS broadcasts, so I don’t know what’s going on in the house the rest of time, but could it be that CBS is showing us the worst of Dick’s behaviour? If so, that really only amounts to a few minutes of time during the 24 hours a day he spends interacting with those people. If you only see the person at their worst, it’s hard to know what they are really like and how they might be perceived by the others. Just sayin’…
No, god I wish they were. Believe it or not, they’re toning it down. He badgered Danielle until she ran from the room in tears, and then followed her to her bed where he poured it on some more. Then he cornered Amber in the pantry, where he left her in a sobbing pile of tears. They didn’t even show him with Jameka and Dustin, both of whom he unloaded on. There was also lots more with Nick. He’s been a real first-class asshole extraordinaire. And I say that as probably his last fan. I don’t know how much longer I can hang on. I just hope it’s all part of some bizarre plan that’s beyond my abilities to conceive.
He’s going downhill much like Kail did. Going from a winning position to putting himself out the house. Kail was fine and would have had no worries if she had not campaigned against Dick. She still might have been OK if she had not made the supremely stupid move of trying to get Danielle to vote against her father. That still makes me cringe thinking about how stupid it was.
Dick should have had no worries when he put Kail and Jen on the block. He made no enemies doing this and got points from people worried about being on the block. His straightforward attitude in small doses worked for him, turning everyone against Kail. Now it seems that he has taken the approach that if it works in small doses, then being a raging asshole must be the best tactic.
It’s not just a few cherry-picked moments. Ever since he won HOH, he’s been on a paranoid reign of terror; browbeating people, threatening them lecturing them, going around and around with the same tirades, accusing everybody of scheming against him, etc. Some of the clips we saw on the broadcast show wereonly snippets of much longer arguments. The argument with Danielle went on forever on the live feeds, with Dick refusing to listen o a word she was saying and constantly trying to turn the subject back to game talk when she was desperately trying to talk to him as her dad.
His badgering and bullying of Kail has been relentless and gratuitous as well. I don’t even like Kail, but she’s a dead hamster walking already. There’s no reason to keep getting in her face.
There’s been a somewhat ironic development the last couple of days. I’ll spoiler it.
[spoiler]Dick has changed his mind and now says he wants Mike out instead of Kail – I guess because Mike has the temerity not to be intimidated by Dick or give a shit about his threats. Dick also has it in his head that Mike is at the center of some powerful, anti-Dick alliance that’s been scheming behind his back. No such alliance exists ( It’s kind of unusual but there actually are no alliances at all in the house right now) but everybody has come to hate Dick even more than they hate Jen. They also have nothing against Mike so the very fact that he’s now trying to order them to vote Mike out is almost certainly going to be defied just out of spite. I also think that Dick is a sure bet to go on the block next time no matter who wins HOH. I think even Danielle wants him out at this point.
Oh…and if anyone’s wondering how the America’s Bitch vote came down, Eric is now campaigning against Kail after being non-committal until he emerged from a Diary Room meeting last night.[/spoiler]

Okay, say that Mike is evicted. Here’s the dynamic I see emerging:
The Dick Group - Dick, Eric, Jessica, Zach
The Daniele Group - Daniele, Amber, Dustin, Nick
The Rest - Kail, Jen, Jameka
Damn! I knew this would happen! Dick has become a total asshole and is alienating almost everyone in the house. And when Daniele tries to reason with him and get him to back off, he turns around and makes it about her!
If he’s trying to pull a Dr. Will, thinking he can be a total jerk and still win, he’s forgetting one very important fact: Will had a playing partner in the house both times who was very skilled at manipulating the other houseguests into voting someone else off.
I gotta wonder whether Dick is trying to self-destruct on purpose because it’s really him and not Daniele who can’t handle being in the house with the other one.
