Big Brother 8 8/10 - 8/16 *Spoilers*

He did, but that just made Jessica suspicious. This may be the most paranoid batch of players ever. They all see conspiracies everywhere.

Or the get in bed with Joe one, for that matter. If that had been a hot babe, I bet he’d have found a way to wedge himself in there.

Jessica is incredibly easy to sway because of this. Suggest something to her, get her thinking about it a little, and chances are she’ll totally change her plan.

It could have been worse, they could have made him get in bed with Dick. America was being nice to him then. Lately they’ve just been straight up fucking with him. I wonder when the light’s finally going to go off that we’re using him for our own entertainment and couldn’t care less about his game strategy.

Thanks.

So if he does “out” himself (and since my gaydar goes off bigtime regarding Eric, the phrase is somewhat ironic), or if he doesn’t make a meaningful effort, does he get removed from the house?

Also, when was he told about this AP business? Before he signed up for the show, or was he randomly picked or …?

Sorry to be a pain. BB8 has far too big a role in my life right now. :frowning:

What I read on another site was that Eric wasn’t told about the AP twist until he was already cast fr the show. At that point, he was told he had to go along with the twist and sign the contract or he could not be on the show. Allegedly, Eric’s relatives have commented online somewhere that Eric was not overjoyed at this development but signed the papers because it was the only way he could be on the show.

As far as penalties for not following the contract, I don’t know for sure but I can only guess that he would, at the least, be removed from the show and lose not only his stipend but the prize money he’s already earned from the tasks.

I think the penalty for disclosing the AP twist might even be more severe. Some reality show contracts impose severe monetary penalties above losing their own compensation for revealing secrets or twists which could jeopardize the value of the show (a player who reveals the winner of “Survivor” would reportedly have to pay a million dollar penalty, for instance).

I honestly don’t know waht they’d do if he flatly refused a task but from all appearances, they call him into the DR and rip him a new one if they don’t think he’s trying hard enough.

I don’t understand why he doesn’t just embrace this. I mean, I can understand a period of resentment, even with his participation being voluntary. But jeez louis, you can stop the pity party any time now, dude. Just get into it, and you’ll feel better.

I agree. I can see how it would be hard to be the AP and still play to win at the same time but once you agree to that condition, it would probably be best just to give up on aspirations of winning, don’t get too attached to anyone and go after the tasks with a sense of humor. I think Dr. Will would have had a ball in this role (he’d cheerfully screw over anyone at anytime, no questions asked) and probably still would have gone pretty deep.

The odds of winning are pretty low anyway. At least going after the tasks can net you some more coin and, if the public finds you engaging, might lead to more work after the show.

Well. well. well. What an amazing week. Looks like Eric finally gets it. (Unless it’s all editing.)

That look on Dustin’s face was priceless.

I loved how Julie Chen dismissively cut off Amber in the middle of her speech at the end.

Why was Amber crying in her goodbye video to Dustin? She thought he was staying. Presumably, she thought he was never going to see it. Does she always cry in every goodbye video no matter what?

What show have you been watching? Amber cries when people leave, when she thinks people are going to leave, when people get nominated, when people are vetoed, when her best friend bails out on his alliance during a veto ceremony, when Eric does something skeevy, when Zach says something weird, when Jameka prays, when Dick yells, when Danielle whines, when Jessica says something in her Fran-Drescher-on-helium voice, when she thinks about her daughter, when she thinks about her daughter thinking about her, when she’s in the swimming pool, when she’s in the diary room, when she fires her 1920s-style deathray, when she listens to Rio by Duran Duran, and when Opal says “Hi!”

It wouldn’t be so bad if she were an attractive crier, really. But she’s the kind of crier that goes white in the face except for the big red blotches.

Really? I hadn’t noticed.
I do like the turn the game has made tonight. Dumb and Dumber finally see the light, I think.

Hey, everything happens for a reason, right?

I have to say that a DVR is my saving grace. I HAVE to fast forward through everything Amber says while crying. For those of you who watch those parts, please let me know if Amber says anything significant during her crying bouts (pretty good chance you won’t have to tell me anything).
