In BigT’s world, a “grudge” seems to be forming an opinion on someone based on your interactions with them in the past.
Sometimes, he makes me think of that episode of The Simpsons, when Ned Flanders ends up in a mental institute: Homer: You know what your problem is, Flanders? You’re afraid to be
human. Ned: Ho ho, now why would I be afraid of that? Homer: Because humans are obnoxious, sometimes. Humans hate things.
Eh, BigT is OK. He/she is just going through something a lot of people go through with regard to the Dope: he’s letting all the minor annoyances pile up to the point that they are all he sees. Logical fallacies, nonresponsive responses, hypocritical posting (to which none of us are immune), stupid snark, pointless dogpiles. The list, I’m sure you know, goes on and on and on.
BigT just needs to step back and keep it light for a while.
People have been saying that to BigT for a long time with no results. He insists that any criticism we make of someone else is unjustified and reflects badly on us. So apparently only BigTs criticisms of us is justified.
Yeah, I understand. I’m as liable as anyone else to take umbrage and waste a bunch of time arguing on the internet. But I’ve also seen BigT be compassionate and constructive. It’s all good.
I’ve made my thoughts on BigT very verbal in the past, but I’ll be the first to admit that he’s toned down his old routine a great deal. I don’t know whether he’s done that consciously or what, but it’s a noticeable change for the better.
