That’s just plain silly. This election isn’t about a milestone and it shouldn’t be seen that way. When Hillary wins, it’s because she was the best choice, not because she was female.
Is no one else the least bit interested in our sexual gratification rule?
Even if that’s centimeters, I guess I have to stand back & applaud…
It’s not “judo shit” at all. Merely being a woman does not make one a feminist, and merely being a feminist does not make one the best candidate for a progressive coalition. Hillary has been a very good political wife, who was able to play the feminist, and appeal to feminists, but when I compare her to other “power couple” wives, I notice that her career is barely distinguishable from the phrase, “married well, used her husband’s name, rode that as long as she could.”
Clever, using Truman against me. Well played.
Seriously, though, I’m not really sure what Hillary’s great accomplishments are. She seems to represent the intersection of “feminist—sorta” and “married well.”
Ideologically, she seems to be largely consistent with both Obama and her husband, and slightly left of both on average. So, the “more of the same” candidate. I’m willing to grant that with a Democratic majority for more than one session of Congress, she could have a better record than they. I’m not willing to grant that she can get that majority, considering she was attached to both administrations and they utterly failed at it.
While I’m barely willing to grant that her first election to the Senate was helped due to her name, she would not have been re-elected and she would not have been such a strong candidate in 2008 and she would not have been appointed Secretary of State were it not for her own individual merits. Such as they are.
Heh. I’m not willing to grant that any Democratic president can gain a majority in Congress in 2016 or 2018 or 2020. At a minimum, it’s going to take Democratic wins in state legislatures and the 2020 redistricting for that to even be possible.
As mentioned above, I’m very uncomfortable with the fact that Bush and Clinton could be the names of four of the last five presidents, but I’d rather have her than a Republican. If neither Sanders nor O’Malley can wrest the nomination from her, then I’ll vote for her. Sorry, deal with it.
Unfortunately, name recognition is a big plus for a candidate. I think that has a lot to do with Trump’s success. It’s kinda sad to think that the best candidate the Democrats could come up with just happens to be the wife of an ex-president. But yeah, in a year with the clown bus as the alternative, it’s certainly not going to change the way I vote.

I, for one, am hoping for and will be quite happy with more of the same.
There will be no asterisk attached to Hillary’s name should she win. She is where she is at due to performance.
Do you feel there is an asterisk beside GWB’s presidency strictly because of his name?
Me, too. Bubba has his flaws, but he was a hell of a president. As I get to know his helpmeet it becomes obvious that the boy chose extremely well, and i assume she was deeply involved all along. He may be a horndog, but he ain’t dumb.
I’d say the least bad choice. Hell, Dukakis could have won against this crop of candidates.
GWB wouldn’t have been elected dog catcher without his name. But since he isn’t seen as the “first” anything, it’s not a relevant comparison.
Over 12,000 posts and I assumed it was going to be a December '15 join date. Never heard of you, hope, to never read another one of your posts.
Right there with you. Extremely good president. I’ve never understood the obsession over his penis. When I hire someone to do a job, I only care how they do that job not where they put their pee-pee.
Well, that’s an unfortunate sentence for this topic.
golf clap
Not just Bubba, but President Obama, as well. President Obama hasn’t been nearly as Progressive as I would like, but he has clearly been a fine president, and successfully shepherded America through some potentially disastrous times.
This thread has turned me into a Trump supporter. I’m voting for Melania Trumps Pubic Mound 2016 for the role of “First Companion Genitals”.
I don’t like HRC, but watching her enemies’ heads explode when she becomes president is going to be loads of fun.
pop
Just one…? I’m hoping for explosions which will rival the ending of “Kingsmen”.
Gee, it sure sounds like you think Hillary should be disqualified because Bill cheated.
Unlike the Republican front-runner, whose three wives combined aren’t as old as he is.
