Everything’s fine now this morning. Hope it was just a little speed bump.
I’m getting a new problem today. Connection to the Board is spotty. It keeps going down intermittently for brief periods. But I’m still connected to the rest of the Internet, so I don’t think the problem is on my end. Then it snaps back after a few minutes.
Dunno what’s going on for you, Siam Sam, and why it should be different for you. I’m not seeing anything and I’m not seeing any other complaints. I don’t hardly know what to tell you.
It wasn’t just Mr. Siam Sam, as long as you mention it. I was getting some of that too, briefly, yesterday.
Generally, as long as it’s just brief and sporadic, I cope. I just go find something useful and/or productive to do for a little while or otherwise, you know, try to have a life.
I still get very sporadic sign-on failures every once in a while, but nothing remotely like it was before the recent Big Fix. Is Jerry still working on fixing up the Board server by server?
I had the “all threads marked read” happen to me a couple of times over the last few weeks. Not enough to be a big problem, but it IS still happening.

For example, this happened to me just a few minutes ago – I had to try signing on three times in a row to get accepted. As noted, I’ve found this to be INfrequent since the Big Fix, but it still happens from time to time.
Yeah, this specific problem I think I’ve only encountered yesterday. Very minor and snapped back in a few minutes – maybe two or three minutes, long enough for me to go freshen up my coffee. Just a minor nuisance really, nothing major, and certainly not like all that trouble before. Seems good today though.
The only problem I’ve had recently is my browser not finding SDMB right after I boot, and I put that down to my air card that I use at work.
I would be interested to check those problems against location and ISPs.
A small issue today. When I logged on, five of my subscribed threads were marked Read, but only five. Many others were still marked Unread. Now, I did peek inside one of the threads before logging on, so I guess the system over there could have recognized my computer. But I did not open the other four threads. Very odd.
Ouch! Zapped again. For the first time in weeks, when I logged on just now after having logged off about 20 hours ago, all subscribed threads are marked as read.
There’s a lot of Board weirdness today. After posting the above, I noticed replies being made to my subscribed threads, but still they were marked Read. Then the Board just went down! It was down for me about 10 minutes until just now. The rest of the Internet was still working.
And now if I make a reply and click on Post, it takes up to a minute while it decides if it’s going to work.
The Board went down again. At least 10 minutes this time. Is anyone else experiencing this? I’m not making any of this up.
Yep, it’s really slow for me tonight.
