Break on through to the other site- A MMP

Afternoon all. Broke fast and then went out for a bit, looking for a book since my copy has started falling apart. Couldn’t find it so, after a Big Lots stop, ordered it via Amazon. At least I got outside and did some walking. Temperature going to 83F today and the humidity is making it unpleasant outside, so I’ll remain sheltering in place I think.

Dot, yeah, but that was the look they wanted…he does grow on you in later films. And try the recent release “Knives Out” if you want too see him in a wildly different role…

Nut, Boo fae, glad things are wrapping up for the summer…

And not much else, just waiting for the next shower to pass by.

Howdy all. Have not read all but will. We got up at 3 AM yesterday and drove to Miami where hubs had his pre- op visit and tests. They wouldn’t let me in with him. Then back home. I had zero sleep the night before and had to let him drive the last forty miles on the way home Had I known I couldn’t go in with him I would have let him get a buddy to take him or he could have taken himself. Anyway, it’s done.

I am being slothful today but tomorrow I am running into irk, when no one is there since I am contaminated from leaving the county, to do payroll early and a few other FOM things. Old grumpy business manager will sign off for me at weeks end. Firday is the official 4th holiday. Also tomorrow I have to pack up a bag for Buddy and us. I need to make sure there is enough cat food, money for the maid, key for the cat feeder and food for me since I intend not to go anywhere off that campus.

We are leaving midday on Moanday for our hotel and a 6am schedule for procedure. I can be there for that, in a waiting room and they will let me see him after then I have to leave until regular visiting hours which are 3-6 pm. Nurse said he will be there two nights but doc said maybe one. We shall see.

Now off to read what you guys are up to.

Happy Saturday!

It was overcast and cool this morning, then the sun came out and it started getting hot fast.

Pretty good group at the park this morning.
Echo got in some good running, Ripple just sits around like an old man.
MetalMouse - some days it just happens that nobody comes. Lily’s mom had to irk, Maia’s mom had to fill on for somebody who was exposed to covid, Jax’s mom was sick, Brooklyn is hit or miss, and we’re all hoping that Bella’s dad is out on his boat and didn’t fall off the wagon again.
Some of the dogs who don’t come over the winter haven’t come back. Most of them have elderly owners who won’t brave the snow and cold. Funny I call them elderly though, because I suspect some of them are not much older than I am.

I always forget how old I am until I look in the mirror or my knees remind me.

Also, about bananas, when I was a kid and ate one and then threw up. Ever since then I can’t even look at or smell a banana without getting queasy. Made it hard when Sah-son was little, as bananas were his favorite food. I’d have to hold my breath and turn my head when I was feeding him.

I feel like I dodged a bullet yesterday.
The neighbor is fixing up the upstairs apartment next door.
The guy next door in the downstairs apartment told me the people across the street (from the house of the Big Mouthed Buffoon and Screeching Banshee) walked over to ask about renting the apartment. When the guy next door heard this he got upset and asked the landlord what he said. He, and I, were very happy to hear that the landlord told them they already had somebody interested in renting the apartment. They don’t. The guy next door told the landlord, please, do not rent to anybody from across the street, especially them.
We’re hoping for someone who doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t have parties, and they prefer no kids.

FCM - you should wait to dust until I take a day off, we could cause a rift on the space time continuum.

Today I plan to finish up my laundry. Everything is dry but needs to be put away. I have a load of towels to do, but no hurry on them as I have way too many towels.
We are also going out for ice cream as today is Ripple’s birthday. Don’t know if we will go to Brusters, or Sonic, or Dairy Queen (I know it’s not real ice cream but the dogs won’t care).

It has taken me all morning to type this as irk has been super busy.

Looks like we’re getting another good renter at the house across the street. A young couple who have already been busting their asses to get the yard into shape. I’m so glad that the landlord vets his renters thoroughly.

On a down note, I’m completely bored with myself and with life at this point. After three months of quarantine, the novelty has completely disappeared. My guitar sits sulking in its stand, unplayed for all this time since the lessons ended when the pandemic started. Can’t muster up the energy to play it. I’m trying to get myself interested in a small woodworking project; perhaps a chess board made from some exotic wood that I have lying around. I don’t know. Maybe. I’m really pissed that I won’t be able to travel to visit my kids and grandkids this year. There aren’t that many years left at my age, and once grandkids hit their teen years, they pretty much lose their charm and their wonder at life. Big wah for me, right?

Seanette My singing voice sounds exactly like Dennis Hopper doing a very poor Stevie Nicks impression

@chefguy are there absolutely no flights at all to their area? If you all promise to follow proper guidelines and all that, there’s just absolutely no way to see 'em?

Another hot, hyoomid day. I moved north to get the hell away from this crap!

Apparently, not far enough.

Salsa’s made supper. And I discovered they’re open in accordance with state guidance - like at half capacity. Every other booth had the table leaning over and they require masks except when actually eating. I got ours to go, tho. We’re still leery of being out among the great unwashed masses.

Daughter took Roxy too meet with some friends at a local beach. I don’t expect her home till late. FCD and I will assume chill mode for the balance of the evening. Tomorrow is supposed to be less hot - we shall see. I need to water the new grass tomorrow, but it’ll take less than 90 minutes all told, I think. Other than that, no plans.

@purplehorseshoe Of course there are flights, but I can’t take the risk of carrying infection to my family or bringing it back to my spouse. Not to mention that I’m in the ‘high risk’ category myself.

Work went extra innings Between having to sort t days of loads, and the conveyer system jamming and sounding like it was eating live lemmings, I worked almost a double. But 2 hours of OT will buy a lot of bourbon…
But I showered, hit the laundromat, bought beer, and napped… Now I must make vittles.

Fine. I won’t be you neighbor, then. :stuck_out_tongue:

Butters, {{{{hugs}}}} and good luck to Hubby

Evening all. I have got to stop taking afternoon naps, just need to close off the bedroom or something, because once I lay down that’s it for 90 minutes or so. Dammit, I need to get some exercise…

A little rain shower parked overhead and dumped a bunch of water on top of the rest and then departed, so we’ll see when the next cloud come along. The Big Bowl O’Sallit has been consumed so I am fed for now. Watching trains on Virtual Railfan for excitement…

Sari, I’d be a great neighbor, but I have no intention of moving from my current locale, since I already have a quite neighborhood and outside of the two attack labradoodles next door (all their attacks are amicable, however), no problems.

Cookie, know what you mean by bored…unfortunately, I can’t really offer any suggestions, I guess I like being bored…

{{Butters}}, hang in there.

OK, back to internettin’ Take care all.

Awww I’m sorry Doggio I’d be happy to have you for a neighbor.

It’s not so much the drinking as it was the noise of the last tenant when he got drunk.

We went to DQ, Ripple loved his ice cream, as did Echo.
My son got a banana split, I got a hot brownie with ice cream.

Evenin’ Y’all! Been a sorta bzzy day for us, anyway. This mornin’ I decided before mowage that we should lop off some low hangin’ tree limbs in da front yahd. They were gettin’ in the way when usin’ the ridin’ mower. So, we spent thirty minutes loppin’ off limbs. A lot of limbs. A humongous amount of limbs! I made three trips haulin’ ‘em off. Each trip takin’ about thirty minutes. Thus, we did get the front yahd mowed, but not the back. We was whooped after all that! Of course the front yahd is what the neighbors see, so it was important to get that in shape. We took a dip in the cee-mint pond afterwards but did not stay out long cause it was hawt and with the Saharan dust, kinda hazy out. After nappage, an executive decision got made to go eat at Longhorn’s. See, I found two gift cards from there Thursday. They were sittin’ in the drawer where I keep my wallet, keys, and such. I looked 'em up and both still had some $$$ on 'em. So we went this afternoon. Turns out 'twas enough to pay for both of our meals. We did, however, leave a generous tip cause we’re nice like that, dammit!

**Sari funny you should mention DQ cause that’s where we shall get N.O.L. from tomorrow. One of us will go pick it up. I got a hankerin’ for one of their big ol’ cheeseburgers and their onion rings. Also, for an Oreo Blizzard. YUM!

Right now I am so tahrd and sleepy I want to go beddy bye, but shall not for a bit cause it’s still a wee bit early.

And red says hi. She’s not shunning us, she’s just locked out. Unlike certain arachnids.

Tonight’s mission: Rendering 3 kilos of bacon.

Now on second liter jar of grease :stuck_out_tongue:

Good eeeevening, as Alfred Hitchcock used to say. I went for a walk today and talked to my sister. She called me last night because she couldn’t sleep for worrying about some issues. Today was Part 2 of the talk. She’s doing better now. She’s such a sweet person. Even if you don’t like me, I can just about guarantee you’d like her.

I did not get a lot of sleep last night. Ugh. I fried a burger for dinner last night. As usual, I put water in the pan with some detergent and put it on low heat. The pan practically washes itself that way. But last night, I forgot all about it–a first–until I was lying in bed and smelled something burning. The kitchen was smoky, but thank God it didn’t set off the smoke alarm. I’m pyrophobic, so my heart was pounding. Then a large band of bored teens invaded the woods behind my apartment and whooped it up until almost 3 a.m. I can’t blame 'em for being bored, but couldn’t they be bored in the afternoon?

Hey, I’ll sleep well tonight!

I think we need an MMP neighborhood. I’d be happy to dog-sit or cat-sit, and think of the great block parties we’d have!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 77 Amurrkin out and clear (I guess, still kinda dark), with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Due to the Saharan dust, 'twill be a bit hazy however. The plan of the day is virtual deheathenization followed by N.O.L. from DQ, which shall be fetched as we desire to eat and then have some quality cee-mint pond time.

Nellie I could live in Mumper 'hood. I could play with everybody’s doggies all day!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Weird dream about buying a house in the neighborhood where I grew up - it woke me too early. I’ve been playing with my tablet for the last hour or so. But I am about to get up and start my day. First plan is to water the back yard. No second plan yet. Guess I’ll just wing it!

Happy Sunday!!

Woke up this morning with a mission to accomplish, didn’t shave or wash, simply threw on some clothes and took off, for the mission was overwhelming…and got a half-dozen fresh donuts at the Krispy Kreme store (hey, when the donut urges kick in like that…). So I am happily ingesting way to much sugary goodness as I type.

Anyway, still cloudy, still rain in the forecast (in fact, there’s a 50-70% chance of rain all next week…oh joy), so will probably stay inside now that my sweet tooth has be satiated.

Swampy, I had my trees cut down many years ago, so no leaves, no branches to worry about.

Nellie, soon as I hit the Powerball, we’ll see about forming a MMP neighborhood.

Alien, 3 kilos of bacon? You planning on inviting me over??

Sari, swampy, I’m going to have to stop at DQ you two keep this up…

OK, back to the glazed goodness. Have a good Sunday all.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I need to make an Aldi run for poke chops.

BACON!fest at the Alien homeworld!

Nellie, a Mumper neighborhood would rock.

Happy Sunday!

It’s hot outside, but we spent a good three hours at the park.

Swampy, the DQ here doesn’t sell anyting but ice cream products, no burgers, no onion rings.

I thought I had finished laundry, I thought the mountain of clean clothes looked a little small, found a load of clothes in the washer. I’ll rewash them today and dry them.

I swear I’m losing what little bit of mind I have left.
