I met God today and it’s this guy
Biography
Ramon Quesada, M.D., FACC, FACP, FSCAI, FCCP, has more than 25 years of experience as an interventional cardiologist. He specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiovascular diseases as well as congenital and structural heart conditions through catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty, stenting, and transcatheter vales repairs and replacements. Dr. Quesada has been a clinical research national site investigator on research trials for coronary interventions and structural heart repairs. He has been a leader in developing minimally invasive techniques to treat structural heart disease, including left atrial appendage closure, patent foramen ovale, atrial septal defects, perivalvular leak repair, aortic valve replacement, mitral, tricuspid valve repairs, and left ventricular pseudoaneurysm closure. He is one of a few interventional cardiologists in the United States who uses the transradial approach for coronary interventions, performing more than 5,000 cases with this less-invasive approach. Dr. Quesada was the first physician in Florida to perform a percutaneous mitral valve repair. He has published extensively in medical journals and other scientific literature and serves on the editorial board of Cardiac Interventions Today, and cardiovascular revascularization medicine (CRM). He has lectured nationally and internationally and has trained physicians from around the world on interventional cardiology techniques. Dr. Quesada is fluent in English and Spanish.
He can do it. Next Tuesday getting a valve in a valve for the aortic then later the other one(s). I am so relieved.
Not loving the new board but I guess I shall just have to figure it out. Off to see what y’all been up to today.
It was a “slow day” according to The Powers That Be, but us peons thought otherwise. Also we were dealing with the overflow from Saturday.
Welcome back Pearl!

Miss_Owl, octopus? Nice, Lenny the Squidgoat needs a pal.
And welcome all you new folks. Stay, hang, post, whine, and have fun.
We will find a way to make *swampy’*s birthday songs dramatic. Don’t worry.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOOOOOU!!
–edit-- Can’t figure out the bolding yet.
OK, maybe I will get used to this. I probably will. I found a theme that is less aggravating, so that’s a start, right? I have read everything but retention is low and I’m still not sure how to do a lot of stuff, so no replies for now. Instead, I offer trouts, hugs, yays, boos, noogies, chitlins and how you (not sure how to italics and bold yet), as needed. I suppose if we don’t get timed out and such all the time that will be good.
Did you check the sandbox?
Today was very Monday. Was late for irk between getting-out-the-door factors and more traffic than I’ve grown to expect. Must remember to leave earlier with more opening back up. Arrived to discover *'d forgotten my security badge, had to obtain new one (must remember to return previous tomorrow). Found that I’d been relocated to a new desk during the two days I took off last week for illness (I’m feeling better now), but sup did quite well at arranging my stuff nearly exactly as I’d had it at my old desk, which was very nice of her. OTOH, POS computer at new desk shut itself OFF on me twice, so I migrated back to old desk with a known-working computer.
The callers weren’t too bad today, except for one guy. Web support with an interpreter is always entertaining, but at least the interpreter this time seemed to have more than three brain cells to knock together. Not sure I can say the same for the caller being interpreted who thought YouTube was a web browser. Wound up asking him to get help from someone who could actually see what he was doing. Also wanted to smack some moron in another department who gave horrifically bad instructions (such as sending them to the wrong damn website!) before transferring a now very frustrated caller to me.
Traffic was minorly ghastly on the way home, and had to deal with a decided lack of help at FedEx/Kinko’s when I needed to print a PDF DH had emailed (our printer picked today to totally refuse to work). Nice young man at Staples did a MUCH better job helping me.
On the plus side, DH now has another light-duty gig lined up, due to start Moanday (which puts me back on the bus, but I’ll deal), which is why I needed to print the PDF of his info packet.
Dinner is on the “forage on whim” system. There’s plenty of food on hand.
Bold It’s in the reply menu. or use ** to bold text
Butters, I really, truly hope that The Doc that can fix things for your hubby. Been pretty stressful for you both, but sounds like he knows what he is about.
Sari, sounds like a real SOB, my guess is that he’ll alienate everyone else and will not be a problem for long. Just hope the dogs will be OK. And you will get your rocks…someday (don’t forget to cancel the order, no need to pay twice…)
Nettie, and that is why I find retirement grand…
And a good evening to all y’all and catch you 2sday
Yeah, yeah, rub my nose in it, Rodent.
Well thank og the mmp is safely here. I don’t generally post but I read you all the time and boy am I glad to see you here in the midst of all this strangeness. Now I guess I have to “bookmark” you instead of subscribe but just so I can find you when I need a dose of mmp to counteract the rest of the damn world. Thanks, everybody!
I am a hurting unit, and I blame the USPS, making me trek all the way down there in the sun and heat. UPS delivers parcels to my door. USPS won’t deliver to apartment doors. My body is complaining about all that sunshine. Lupus would like to turn me into a mushroom. If I were a man, I’d be a fun guy.
Here’s something I forgot to post earlier. I was crossing a major intersection when two squad cars with lights flashing stopped and blocked traffic. A few blocks later, I discovered why: there was a small (40 people) protest coming. I’m all for peaceful protests. I’m all for BLM. I might’ve joined them except that they were chanting “All cops are bast___ds.” Two cops blocking off the street for them and two cop cars following them to ensure they were safe. Oh, the irony. BUT I’m grateful they had that protection. And honestly, the cops didn’t look upset.
I’m going to go to bed and groan for awhile. The neighbors may think I’m having a whole lot more fun than I am. Good night, Mumpers.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Ouch. Sorry about the sun, Nellie
My password seems to be in this infinite loop. I’ll go to preferences and look for how to change it. There’s a note about an email. I click on the email icon and it says the email has been sent. I never get the email. I’m scared to shut this window 'cause I’ll never get back in.
Butters Yay for new doc! Where is he located? I’m so relieved for you both. {{{hugs}}}
Morning, mumpers! I’m not so sure I like this new layout either, must be getting old! It’s not so much that I don’t like change, I just don’t have the patience to faff about trying to work out how to do things that used to be simple. That and the fact that it’s taken more effort than it should just to get logged in here.
We are officially now in our busiest week of the year. It’s only Tuesday and already I have sat through marks scrutiny for Art History, Curating and Visual Studies, and a similar meeting for our Modern Languages and Music departments. Today I have an Extenuating Circumstances panel first thing, and a staff meeting this afternoon. Then for the rest of the week, I will be attending four…count 'em…four! end of session exam board meetings. By Friday I will be all zoomed out.
Butters - yay for new doc! I’m so happy Mr Butters will get the surgery he needs at last.
Morning people. I’m also feeling slightly old and grumpy with this new board; hopefully I’ll get over it soon enough, when I get used to it.
Not a busy day today, what a surprise. I’m planning to go check on the s later; hopefully I should be able to tell by now if the big hive has a proper new queen or not. Happy Tuesday!
Happy Tuesday.
Once you get the hang of it, the site is okay.
I quite like the notion of “an Extenuating Circumstances panel.” Sounds a lot nicer than “Shit happened.”
Middle of the night storms blew through briefly. Current humidity outside is 93% according to The Oracle of Teh Googlez. Oh, my noisy little Coolio, how I wuvses you.
Went to bed super early with a slight pre-storm headache, as per the usual, so now I’m awake stupid early … and I’m too excited to sleep now, feel a bit like a kid on Christmas morning. I’ve wanted a papasan since freshman year when every filthy apartment had one (and thus, the “cool kids” to my sheltered eyes) but something always got in the way. They’re space hogs, and… well, there was some extenuating circumstance every time.
The kind I want is from Pier One, which is now apparently going outta business so this felt like my very last chance to finally have this Thing I’ve Wanted For So Long.
Hope like hell I still find it as comfortable as I remember, haven’t curled up in one in ten years at least! Oh, Christ …
Breathe. Cross that bridge when we come to it.
Okay.
I’m at least as excited about Ms. Cleaning Lady as about the papasan delivery, and have started nervously straightening crap up to get it out of her way as much as possible. I obtained the necessary cash - plus tip, right? - and swear I feel like I scored a date with some hottie I thought would never notice me.
Speaking of, that’s next on the old agenda-roonie I’m afraid. I loathe dating in the traditional sense - it feels so much like a job interview that I instantly and thoroughly go into “Hate it! Don’t wanna! Can’t make me!” mode.
Ideally, I could meet someone through work - or through someone at work - but with curbside drive-thru service you barely even see customers before they whiz on through, and that’s without the added obstacle of masks. Flirting is impossible!
Positive stuff. Positive crap.
Oh. OH! OHH!! Did I tell you? In all the board switchover maybe I did and forgot, but oh, OH! PRETZEL ATE you guys, my snake finally had a friggin meal. I dunno, maybe I repeated myself. Who cares, I get to tell it again.
Yeah, I’m feeling the same way. I think if it had been this way when I first joined, I’d be hunky-dory with it. Once I figured out the things that are important to me, I was fine.
Purp - I’ve had a couple of papasans over the years and I’ve always loved 'em. When my daughter was an infant, it was really nice - I could toss her in and know she’d still be there!
Altho at this stage of my life, I prefer a nice recliner.
Woke with a terrible leg cramp in the middle of the night, but I was able to walk it off. However, this morning, the fronts of both thighs are killing me - from crawling in the attic yesterday, no doubt. As soon as I’m done breakfasting and caffeinating, I’m going to walk around the block… before it gets stupid hot. Then I’ve got laundry, and I’ll probably push the vacuum cleaner around. We’ll just have to see. Supper tonight is clean-out-the-fridge, since the 2 attempts at same last week came to nothing.
Happy Tuesday!!
Googles ‘papasan’… Yay for +
=
!
Also yay for Mr Butters finding a surgeon. They all think they’re god anyway, according to my surgical nursing friend, maybe this one’s right
Anyway, I should get on with the day, I’m swapping plants by post, and have one all packed up ready to go, so I should take it to the post office to make sure it gets today’s post. I’m also going to the garden centre, to get a new pot and have a wander round. And maybe cake, they do good cake, even if it is takeaway only right now.
