Caffeine addicted MMP

This morning I flipped the on switch on the espresso machine and it didn’t react.

Hubby did some investigation and figured out the magnetic float in the tank wasn’t behaving. After some manual manipulation, there was the sweet sound of the pump in the espresso machine.

As it’s Monday, there’s plenty of alternative coffee sources, and we even have the day off, so we could go sit in a cafe.

But we’re lazy and would rather stay home. We’ll go out later, after it warms up.

What’s your caffeinated choice to start the day? Or do you abstain?

Happy Moanday!

I have one cup of half caff in the morning. I’m not supposed to have even that much according to the docs. I sometimes have decaf otherwise, just 'cause.

And now, it’s 11:52pm here in the wilds of Orygun, and I’m going to bed.

Night.

i like mocha or cappuccino

Either Mountain Dew or Coke Zero. I don’t like coffee.

I really need to be asleep soon (it’s about 12:10am, or 0010 in 24-hour time, in my time zone as I type).

cocoa also but yeah im a dew head… only dew I don’t like that I’ve tried is the lemonade one its too sour

I wish LiveWire (the orange one) could be found again. Loved that one.

In the sugar-free category, the melon is more palatable than the original, IMO.

I’m a tea drinker. Real tea, Camellia sinensis. Although after 2pm I switch to decaf so I sleep better at night. Stupid aging process.

Diet Coke starts my day. I never developed a taste for coffee, except when it becomes Kahlua. I do like hot tea, but I can’t stand it iced. I avoid the super-caffeinated “power” drinks, and I should avoid any caffeine after noon, because it does affect my sleep. But I’m weak and I don’t always have decaf Diet Coke in the house and sometimes water just won’t do it.

I managed to stay abed till 6:30, getting up only once in the wee small hours to, um, wee. I drank a lot of water before bed. Today is supposed to be relatively mild and I’m thinking I’ll de-leaf the big flower bed next to the front porch so the emerging growth has a chance to flourish. And I need to roll-suck the living room - Taz is shedding something awful. Not sure what else may or may not happen. The end of this week, I’ll be teaching BIL how to use TaxAct, so I have that to look forward to.

And so it begins. Happy Moanday!!

Good morning. I am full of mppghgmmmm, because it is early and I have not had caffeine. Although I did have breakfast. And we are packed and ready to go home.

My silly brother is here. So more later.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slugabed until seven-fifteen this mornin’. :sleeping_bed: 'Tis 45 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 73 and N.O.S. for the day. The main item on today’s agenda is men’s night over to the church house. We shall go over around four-thirty to do setup and get N.O.T. on to bake and such. Other than that we shall be our usual slothful and overall useless selves.

I have two cups of coffee in the mornin’ usually. I am also quite fond of Diet Poopsie, though I will drink Diet Coke if it’s on sale. I’m cheap thrifty like that. Bein’ from the southern U.S.ofA. I am quite fond of sweetened iced tea as well. I try not to do caffeine after six p.m. so’s I’m not wound up when it’s sleepy time.

Pearl safe travels back to the homeplace!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

I have one mug of coffee per day. I make it with my expresso machine, so to fill the mug, it takes about four shots. I like pinon roasted coffee from New Mexico. Then add sugar and half & half to make it a coffee-flavored candy bar. I also make the wife a pot of French press (dark roast), and usually rob a bit of it for my mug. Buzz!

Looks like we’re going to get a pretty good snow dump this week. The average snowfall for February in MSP is about 6"; we’re going to get at least double than in about a three-day period. Doesn’t affect us, of course, as we’ll just stay home and watch the mayhem outside our window.

Morning all. Got the required 8 hours of sleep and have a load of laundry running, so slowly getting back to semblance of normalcy (whatever that is). It’s 52F heading for 65Ftoday, so nice day for getting out, which I will. Have already paid my credit card bill and downloaded the Edward Jones tax stuff, so I should have all the paperwork to do my taxes, which is also on the schedule for the week. Also have to download all my photos, once I find the appropriate ^*&%R%^$ cords…

Like others here, I am not a coffee drinker, rely on Diet Pepsi/Pepsi zero for my caffeine fix.

Cookie, stay snug.

FCM, how is TaxAct? I’ve used Turbo Tax for years and probably would be a pain to switch now, but anything to make the process simpler…

pearl, safe journeys.

Dicey, glad the fix was relatively simple.

OK, need to do a few things and then head out for the shop-n-sammich routine for Moanday. Have a good week all.

My stupid aging body has made me give up coffee, too. I had to switch to tea, but I like my black tea good and strong. Strong black tea has enough caffeine to negatively affect me, so what to do? I buy decaf tea, and use three heaping spoonfuls to make a mug of tea so dark it looks like coffee. I sometimes add a pinch of real tea if I have a headache or I’m groggy from insomnia. Then whole milk and raw sugar. Yum, that’s good stuff.

If I feel like challenging my caffeine intolerance, I’ll get an iced boba black milk tea while out and about. That’s a rare treat, though.

We’re having a weird weather forecast. One of the weather websites says there’s a possibility of snow here this Thursday, as it’ll be down to just below freezing during predicted rain. It hasn’t snowed here since the 1980s, so I’m taking this with a grain of salt. But we’ll certainly get snow on the local mountains and even low hills. I love it!

Well, I’m off to use up some overripe bananas and make banana almond blueberry bread. Mr. brown will be up soon, and we’ll see if his latest flare of gout has subsided. He was laid up the last two days from it, but since he won’t see a doctor for it nor take other steps which would prevent it, he’s getting no sympathy, which makes him petulant. I’m off today for presidents’ day, but he doesn’t get the day off. I think I’ll go do some leisure window-shopping at the outlet mall later today as my holiday treat.

I have been drinking black coffee since childhood. Years ago I would make a fresh pot after dinner and sleep like a baby. Maybe ten years ago I had a nasty bout with insomnia and “temporarily” switched to decaf. I was never able to switch back and still sleep. I also cut my consumption down to just a cup or two in the morning.

Good morning everyone.

It’s currently 47 degrees and slightly damp. The expected high is 49 and we’ll have a mix of light rain and regular rain.

I love coffee; strong and black. I alternate between my Keurig, pour-over style, and french press. It mainly depends on if I have coffee beans in the house. I will usually have two mugs in the morning. If I’m out and about, my go-to is a 16-ounce quad shot Americano. My espresso machine died years ago, and I just never got around to getting another one. I also like iced coffee and make that on occasion in the summer. The day just isn’t right if there isn’t coffee.

When I was a girl, we often had kaffeeklatsch and my mother would let me have coffee mixed with cream or milk and sugar. When I was sixteen and visiting my Grandmother, she insisted learn to drink it black while staying with her. Turns out I liked it and I don’t really drink it any other way. When lattes first became big, I started having those but noticed my stomach was always jacked up after having one. Once I switched to Americanos, the stomach issues when away. I guess I was just meant to drink black coffee.

We obtained the U-Haul truck and filled the sucker up with all the stuff I talked about over the weekend. I wanted to go straight to the dump, but the husband insisted on waiting until today. In a little over an hour, I’ll hop into the shower and get my husband up so he can have a cup of his foo-foo coffee and get ready.

It’s so nice to have all that stuff gone. It sounds like I had a hoarders pile out there, but the stuff mainly consisted of two old hose reels, hoses, two fairly large dog houses, a stack of plastic pots from the nursery plant purchases, and a barrel grill and smoker. We added some stuff from the garage and now the truck is full. I really miss having a pick-up truck. Renting a truck is a PITA.

Other than the dump run, I’ll take care of some laundry today, and then it’s back to work tomorrow.

I hope you all have a great day!

Coffee to start the day. I use Dunkin original blend in an electric percolator.
A teaspoon of half and half and a teaspoon of sugar free caramel syrup. I have 2 cups in the morning then am done for the day.

Going to the chiro, then to the gym. My horse has forgotten some of her basic training so I will head to the barn for a refresher course on how to stand still when your owner is getting in the saddle.

I don’t drink coffee to wake up, I wake up to drink coffee.
I make a half pot of whole bean Ethiopian, with a hit of cream in the morning. Which it being Monday, and President’s Day, was short.

We had a couple of flurries, but no snow so far this winter.

Morning everyone.

Last night, my boyfriend’s nephew was hurt by their (at the time drunk) mother. She tried to blame it on their dad (my BF’s oldest brother). From what I’ve heard both the police and CPS got involved. Thankfully the nephew is safe and sound.

i am a cold caffeine person, ice tea or pop to start the day. heated beverages are later in the day, a proper cup of tea or hot chocolate.

the first time i tried coffee, i got itchy. haven’t had it since. sometimes there is coffee in chocolate icing, that has me a bit wary as i wait to see if i will react.

lager is more like 98% now, he wants a bit more cuddling than usual.

tonight i will start the taping part of paint prep. i realized this morning, that lager and koritza have not been involved in a painting project. i painted all the walls of the flat before moving in. this should be interesting…

good grief! i hope nephew can be in a calm spot to recover.
