Calling all Fantasy Football refugees!

My friend took over Team 2 (I guess he liked Harrison/Alexander better than Holmes), he called his team ‘hustler.’ So now only Team 4 is left.

Travis Henry Gone.

NurseC is up.

Team 4 has been claimed by a friend-o’-mine. He’s a bigger dummy than I am for this kind of thing.

Where’s Jeff Hostetler when you need him?

Verrrry interesting.

Hey, looks like Team 4 got taken. Excellent.

I like all the stats you guys are waving around – I’m going into this one totally blind, making all my picks off the top of my head.

Hey, anybody want to go again when we finish this draft?

I sign up for 2 each Monday, WL. Of course I’m in!

Henry was a great pick. Should have been taken before Edge. My prediction for NurseCarmen’s next two picks:

Culpepper
Moss

But that’s just me…

I thought about Moss but there were 3 (now 2) RBs that looked too tasty…

I disagree about Henry. His season totals are inflated by a couple multi-TD games against bad defenses early last season. He tailed off dramatically in the second half (wanted to keep company with his QB, I guess), and couldn’t produce consistently all year.

(I’m just bitter because I got him with a couple of 8th round picks last year as a 3rd back and was widely perceived to have made a huge steal until people started noticing that he only scored on days I wasn’t starting him)

Dear god, I’m such a Homer.

Moss is actually a pretty risky pick, last year wasn’t so hot. If Dwayne Bates steps up or another WR is enticed over, he may have a good year. He sure sucks when he’s double teamed all year though.

The more I think about it, the less I’m sure I’d take Holmes #1 overall. His hip injury sounds suspiciously like the injury the ended Bo Jackson’s career. However, Jackson also suffered from avascular necrosis. I haven’t heard that mentioned when talking about Holmes’ injury. Anyone been keeping up with the situation in KC?

Hey Nurse, you’re up…and Bill Brown is still on the board.

At this point, I would not take Holmes as #1. That very well could change as the summer goes on, but I havent heard enough good news from KC to justify that. you can’t have any questions when you have the #1 pick overall.

Wow, only 11 hours and 32 minutes after I was told I was up, and I finally picked!

Who told me I could sleep!

Homer Strikes again.

must…fulfill…munch’s…precognition.

Woohoo! Call me Kreskin.

I’m also wary about Priest, but the fact is, if that injury clears up, he’s #1. If not, LT2 is clearly #1. In dynasty leagues, Portis could make a damn good case, but I’d still go with LT2.

In related news, Ricky Williams (Ind.) is still available.

K, I took Moulds.

3 autopicks just went so now hustler is up for 2

Hey Munch, I had Little Ricky on my roster for about 30 minutes last season. Poor bastard, they told him he’s starting so he celebrates by straining a hammy in practice. Now the world knows the genius of James Mungro.

Don’t forget Jim Finn. He’s aces.

Having such a small league is misleading. Seeing some of these guys still on the board in Rd. 4 is increasing my daily spit-take count. Then I realize that the last pick in Rd. 3 is #24, and all is right in the world.

Next time around we should set our own point system and starting line-up. You can’t set it on the site, but if we do in here, we’ll all know what’s going on. Any suggestions? I’m a big fan of QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, RB/WR, TE, K, DEF. Points I don’t have an opinion.

Well, you know I am used to playing in leagues where the QB took precedent.

It depends on how many people are in the league (or mock). You need to adjust so the draft goes at least 150 players deep to make it a good exercise, IMO. 200 is even better.

If we have 8 people next time, to make it interesting

Lets go: QBx2, RBx4, WRx5, TEx2, K32, DEFx2

Then again, I am a FF dork and like investigating deeper sleepers.

Yeah, but what does that mean? 12 points a TD? Even in a 6 pt/TD, 10 yds/pt league, 1st tier QBs and 2nd tier QBs have a very small difference. Compare that to 1st and 2nd tier RBs, elite RBs are in much higher demand. Even the 7th ranked player in all of fantasy last year, the Tampa Bay Buckaneers Defense, shouldn’t be picked up sooner than Rd. 8.
