They both said it.
I’m not sure. Presumably, they were planning enough challenges so that there would be one elimination per episode, until they arrived at a final 4. Canseco had already left (he’s not coming back, is he?) so now that they also fired Richard Hatch, they had two people leaving in one episode – hence, one less challenge, and one less donation to charity (any charity).
At a recent Comedy Central roast of Trump, Marlee was the only apprentice there, and referred to Trump as his/her boss. I believe the show is pre-taped long enough ago that that could be an indicator of the winner.
We went over this on page 3.
The winners of the celebrity seasons don’t get jobs, they just get money for their charities. He does not become the winner’s “boss.” Marlee Matlin’s comment at the Roast meant nothing.
Well, well, well. Why isn’t there an outcry about Meatloaf’s behavior last night? Star and Dionne speak their minds about Lisa in the board room, in Trump’s presence and all hell breaks loose. They did not curse, they did not raise their voice and they certainly did not threaten bodily harm. No one had to restrain them and send someone else out of the room so that they could calm down. Meatloaf was way, way, way off-base. He should have been fired last night. And on top on his out burst, He was so wrong. And then he lied in the boardroom. He acted like it was a mutual arguement and it was not. It was all him. One last thing, can you see him trying that on anyone of the other guys? I think not! Why can’t the men understand that Gary had a brain injury and that he is doing the best that he can…**
He’s been doing that at least since he was a major league rookie. Whether he was juicing then, I don’t know.
WTF? It was a doubly brilliant move. She got rid of a competent rival and saddled the men with Busey for another week. As useless as say, Hope is, she doesn’t distract from the task and have to be managed. Busey does, and with the loss of Canseco (who at least could get dressed in drag and lift stuff) and Hatch the men are really going to lose a lot of steam. Hatch was a damn hard worker behind the scenes.
Frankly, if Marlee had pussed out I would have lost some respect for her. She handled it great. It is a charity thing but it is also a competition. Hatch had his chance to win for his charity in week one, it’s not like she’s slapping food out of his mouth.
I figured the women would win because the men got way too confident. As Marlee noted, this was great for her because she could tap into the philanthropy world as well as entertainment. John Rich did a great job as well. I’ve heard he’s possibly a homophobe but he’s so damn likable. The country guys always come off well on CA.
Meat Loaf… What the fuck, dude? That was some weird unhinged shit. Props to Gary because it didn’t scare him at all. I know Gary is a headcase, but I do think the guy has some pretty serious mental issues after his wreck. It just seemed so bizarre for Loaf to go off like that. I lost a little respect for him (even though it was one of the better meltdowns I’ve seen as of late). The apology was lovely though and both guys handled it well.
Latoya gets dissed by her team but she is really doing a decent job under the radar. I think Star manipulated herself into a job in which she appeared busy but didnt really do much.
Why, do you think that Gary deserves some sort of special treatment or something?
There’s usually at least one episode per season of CA where no one gets fired. Sometimes there are episodes where more than one person is fired or quits. They’ve never stuck to only one elimination per episode.
This season will have 12 episodes, which gives the show enough room to knock off one contestant per episode until episode 11, which is usually the final four (season 9 had a Final 5).
A little understanding, maybe. He can’t really help some of his behaviors.
Absolutely. And short of Meat’s psycho blowup, the men’s team has been bending over backwards to couch their criticism in terms of nothing but utmost understanding.
Agreed. I think Meat is the only one who’s acted inappropriately. Even he finally did apologize and seemed to mean it.
What the fuck? By that logic, every time Trump fires someone he’s making a “bitch move.” After all, a charity is being removed from contention. And anytime someone tells Trump to fire a PM, they’re making a “bitch move.” Hatch had a shot to win money anyway and he lost.
There was some other round where it was really close and both teams did well, and yet Trump didn’t give the guys the option to not fire one of the women. Why should the guys get a free pass? They even got to keep the money for John Rich’s charity, if Trump did it like he always had, Marlee would have gotten *all *the money and Hatch would still be gone.
I’d like to see Marlee win the whole thing.
She’s looking very strong – she and Star are the most likely finale candidates of the women (much as I loathe Star – who, come to think of it, could easily diva out at the wrong moment and get booted). John Rich seems like the shoo-in the men, with Mark, I think, also strong – has he PMed yet?
Well, one difference between Meatloaf’s “confrontation of death” and Star’s/Dionne’s behavior is that Meat did realize he was being a prick and apologized. That said, his actions were so out of line, I agree he should have been fired.
I don’t understand why the women were permitted to sit in and even comment during the firing. I’ve never seen that and, frankly, I think it was very unfair. Clearly the guys wanted Gary out as he is dead weight. But Marlee was able to speak up for him and the entire women’s team was able to try to persuade Trump to cut a stronger player.
Nope. But I think Lil John is stronger than McGrath. Remember how squirrelly and nervous he gets during project prep? I see him being a micromanager that will lose focus of the big picture.
Ooh, good point. I keep forgetting about him, because he’s always so low-key until the chance to perform comes up, as someone commented above. Yeah, he seems like a really solid player also.
I also agree. I mean, he was threatening to kick Gary’s ass. Something like that would be considered a hanging offense in most workplaces these days, even if his anger at Gary was justified (which it wasn’t).
