Celebrity Apprentice 2011

I hate it when Trump forgoes his responsibility on the show and starts asking others to make decisions for him. I don’t mind him asking for their opinion, but in this case, asking Marlee to decide whether the men’s team shoud have somebidy fired is a bullshit move by Trump.

And objectively speaking, Matloaf should have been fired, that was way out of line and event hough he apologized, very sinncerely. I simply think he crossed a line you shouldn’t be allowed to cross, especially since he was completely wrong.

I loved the look on Lil Jon’s face when Gary stared acting like a dumbass when they were sitting on the back of the truck.

Well crap, I thought the pirate theme was a fantastic idea. Who gives a sh*t about a moth eaten Koala costume that doesn’t even look much like the logo? This is the first time I’ve seen a really creative idea shot down by some rather short sighted executives. If they wanted a beach theme why not trot out some old video from their storage closets? The beach and suntan lotion commercials have been beaten to death for the past 50 years.

Man, those women are a trip. They win and still go back and bitch at each other. <shakes head> I’ve never seen such a bitter, nasty, joyless bunch of winners in my life.

Man oh man, I can’t believe Busey is still in it.

Well that was complete bullshit.

At this point, I think it’s pretty apparent that he’s just keeping Busey around for the dramatics.

I’ve noticed John Rich keeps coming up with the jingles for the various challenges.

IIRC didn’t Meatloaf write a lot of his great songs? He hasn’t contributed anything musically to any of the challenges.

Actually, I totally agree with Trump tonight. Keep Busey AWAY from the money people— that’s what you DIDN’T do.
Next week looks fun.

Meat Loaf didn’t write any of his hit songs. I don’t know that he’s never written any, of his own songs, but his Bat Out of Hell hits were all written by Jim Steinman.

Busey’s not the reason they lost. They lost on concept. That was on Sugar Ray.

Ok. So don’t count on Meatloaf for any song lyrics then.

After thinking about it, I guess the Pirate Theme could have been executed better. I still think it was a great idea. They needed to integrate the product into the theme better. Also tone down the silly arrrr Pirate sounds. Gary definitely was a hindrance.

I agree totally with who went home. That person was responsible for the theme and it’s execution. It was time to turn in the eye patch and sail off on the high seas. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m hoping this season I’ll be able to watch until the end. It depends on who the finalists are. If NeNe and Star are in the final then I’m changing the channel. I have no interest in seeing people I can’t stomach win this thing.

A good rule of thumb on this show is to never give Trump an opening to fire you. If you say you should be fired if you don’t win and you don’t win, then you’re a goner. Thus, adios Mark McGrath. Say what you want about LaToya, at least she was smart enough to put that idiot Nene in the koala costume to put her out of sight. That’s what McGrath should have done with Gary. It would have solved two problems for the men. It’s going to be John Rich vs. Marlee Matlin for the win; that’s my prediction.

Well, the guys are making Busey their PM again next week. It’ll be interesting to see what happens. They probably figured that if they lose, they can more easily pin the blame on him if he’s in a leadership role.

First time he was PM, there were a lot more members on the team to do the actual work – more important for the PM to be deploying people well when there are fewer of them.

Plus, IIRC, he actually managed to focus fairly well – and the times when he didn’t (approving two different payments for trees and shrubs), the people dealing with it managed to work around him.

It will be interesting to see what happens this time.

He seems so genuinely hurt that people are having a problem with him. Does he truly not remember saying the shit he says?

Man, Meatloaf was very visibly upset. I think that if McGrath hadn’t done a Mea Culpa then Busey would have gone, but when you take responsibility as he did then the consequences follow. But the reason I think Busey should have gone was because he was bald-faced lying in the board room, denying everything, rolling his eyes. It was ridiculous and I can’t wait until his gone.

Or Lil’ Jon vs Matlin.

Can I just add that I love Ivanka Trump, she is well spoken, very attractive and I think pretty smart (she is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business).

She’s probably not a birther either.

True, but then neither is the Donald, he’s just looking for publicity.

Wholy unrelated, I didn’t know Ivanka had converted to Judaism a couple of years ago.

She’s also currently pregnant with her first child. Unfortunately, it’s not mine.

Initial thoughts, before I read through the comments…

This was the most cringe-worthy episode of all time. I hate to see awkward chants/songs - for some reason they really make me uncomfortable watching them. Everything out of Busey’s mouth was unbelievable. If I was an alien that landed last night and this was the first episode of TV I’ve ever watched, I’d think that Gary was placed there as some sort of sabotage. Unbelievable.

The koala - I had no idea the koala was the Australian Gold mascot until late in the episode when the camera finally focused on the logo. When Lil John mentioned they steered away from a koala because they didn’t want to screw around with corporate branding, I thought the women were sure to lose for using a koala! I hate editing like that.

I’m perplexed by how Starr Jones keeps getting assigned as marketing director. Her design skills are hilariously bad. The banners she made for this episode looked awful. They managed to be both cluttered AND bland. That takes some skill.

McGrath is a moron. You have Gary Busey on your team. NEVER say “I’d take full responsibility for a loss” when you have someone so completely capable of taking on blame than Gary Busey on your team. Unbelievable. “I couldn’t take these guys up on the firing line”? Dumbass. And how you think pirates are in any way original these days is beyond me. The box turned out amazing, but it was polishing a turd at that point.
