Hugs to you and Baker both. This is one of the many parts of adulthood school and college does not prepare us for.
Yup, mayonnaise. It’s the carrier for the curry paste.
Chickies are in the oven, along with sweet potato and yukon gold potato fries. We don’t have a roasting rack big enough, so I oiled the aluminum foil up real good and put everything in at 400 on two cookie sheets. I thought about parchment paper, but I wanted to cook them hotter this time. We’ll see.
We got some rain and thunderboomers. It smells loverly out there.
And I’s tahred, so I’m going to hit the rack.
Damn you swampy, dogbutler and Bumbazine, talking about all that yummy food! I had a can of soup for supper.
I ate too much. It wasn’t yummy either (well, the ice cream wasn’t terrible ). Most of it was fried and blah. Why? Why stomach why?
Think I might go to bed early tonight.
I officially declare that having Firday off ROCKS!!! I more or less slept till nearly 6:30 despite a strange dream about cruise ships going to Africa. Not that a cruise ship stopping in Africa is strange, but the dream was bizarre, as most of mine are.
We had some nice rain last night and we may get some t-storms this afternoon. **FCD **and I hope to get some work done in the new shed - it kinda depends on how he’s feeling. So does breakfast - we’ll go out if he’s up to it.
I’ve made arrangements to meet up with **MetalMouse **tomorrow. I need to clean my white sneaks - they’re looking pretty gross. Yeah, like anyone going to the March will care about my shoes.
Thus beginneth my day. Happy Firday!!

The Mouse Story
Last week I noticed Fluffy Samantha was very interested in the toaster oven. She’s never cared about appliances before. I chalked it up to Cats Are Weird and went about my business. The next morning I got up, turned on my computer, turned around, and saw a mouse running under my kitchen stand.
“Oh HELL no!” I yelped. “Samantha, get in here!”
She came running and set up her surveillance at the toaster oven again. That afternoon when I got home Tiny Tabitha was upstairs staring at the giant piece of furniture that holds my TV. She kept trying to stick her paw in between two pieces of it, so I moved one and found the mouse. Tabby and Sam spent a good couple of hours chasing the mouse around the stand until it made a run for the couch and from there the kitchen stand. I put treats on an unset mouse trap and left it behind the kitchen.
I kept rebaiting the trap for a couple of days and then I set it. That was the day the raisins stayed on the trap. That night I went downstairs to talk to Irish Storyteller and he told me he had found a dead mouse on his bathroom floor that morning.
The cats got to the mouse before the trap could. At least they didn’t eat it. I praised them highly for being vicious little murderers and gave them treats.
And that is how the mouse found out it had invaded the wrong house.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 60 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 88 and N.O.S. for the day. The big plan for the day is well, mom watch with a visit to check on unc and a couple of errands. The main road from mom’s house into town has finally been re-paved so no more big equipment on the road now. YAY!
BigKitty good mouse story and yay for the kitties doin’ their job.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I shall purtify and go forth into the day.
Happy Firday Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Closing shift tonight.
Congrats on having vicious little murderers, BigKitty.
BigKitty thank you for employing good little, sweet kitty nookums.
Have fun [del]storming the castle[/del] at the March, Mom and Metal Mouse!
Hubby was home after 1 am. I am a bit beat, but glad to have him here.
Might just have a nap after kids are off to school. Might. Yes. Going to.
Happy Firday!
It looks cloudy outside, but the high is supposed to be 80. It’s supposed to rain today, tomorrow, and Sunday.
I should have my lawnmower by today. If not, then I’ll be sending an email off to the company although it feels wrong to complain about not receiving a freebie.
I’ll be getting some cat treats today, but it’s a secret and we’re not going to tell Adam. I’m going to try hiding them around the house so he has something to do. Hopefully that will keep him busy and entertained. His new litter box should be here soon too, he needs a bigger box. He was 14 pounds when I got him and I think he’s gotten bigger since then. He’s a bit of a piggy when it comes to food and treats.
The dog is back to eating more normally. He’s up to a can and a half a day. For his weight he should eat two cans a day, but since he is inactive I thank a can and a half is fine. He was eating less than a can a day and had lost interest in treats, and that was worrisome.
I woke up too early today, 4 am, but I am going to resist napping later on. I’ve been doing really well with sleeping all night and I want to keep it that way.
I finally feel like everything is falling back into place around here and I’m getting everything back under control. Although I’ll feel a lot better when the back yard is whipped into shape. It’s like a jungle back there, how a small yard can get out of control so fast it beyond me. One of the people who lived here years ago owned a lawn service and I think he planted things that are supposed to be ground covers and such but I don’t know what is weeds and what I should leave alone. Stuff is always popping up every where. The yard is covered now in some kind of purple flower, I have no idea what it is or how long it will last.
What good little killers you have BigKitty.
Enough with the chitchat and goofing off.
I have things to do.
It really does. I’ve gotten very used to have a 3 day weekend every weekend. It’s nice.
**sari **- dang - sounds like Adam is a mega-cat! Taz and Ziva are in the 11-12# range, so over 14 is a heck of a cat!
We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, then to WalMart for a few items, most of which were dog treats. Someone spoils his pug. I’ve got a load of jeans in the washer and my yarn cart was just delivered, so I’ll bring it in and set it up. I need to empty the dishwasher and run the vacuum. So domestical!!!
BLURF Happy Firday all. I am thinking about exploring the option of a flex schedule which would be 8 nine hour days and 1 eight hour day per two week period giving me every other Firday off. I can’t be off each Firday as I have payroll to do and don’t want my boss messing with my employees time. He generally messes things up anyway.
I visited with Unc this mornin’. He was all over the place with his ramblin’s. Understand that this is not unusual because the man always could talk the paint off the walls but today was especially rambly or so it seemed. On the plus side he seems more understandin’ of the fact that the nursin’ home is where he lives now. He cannot live on his own and afaiac the level of care he needs requires the nursin’ home.
Mom is havin’ a more restful day today which is good. Keepin’ her comfy and pain free are the goals. As long as both of those things happen, I’m happy.
I seem to have just been texted by an escort site. Pisses me off, since I’m on a pay-as-you-go plan and every text costs 20¢ - I don’t appreciate having to pay for crap like this. Dammit.
Just vacuumed up enough hair to knit another cat. Wonder how long before Ziva sheds twice her body weight again? Two loads of jeans have been washed, dried, and stowed. I should probably empty the dishwasher and start refilling it. Chores chores chores.
**swampy **- how are you holding up? You seem to have an awful lot on your plate, even with help from your sibs…
Swampy as a follow on to Mooom’s question, I have been wondering if you’re able to get home for an afternoon or evening and take a break. Is your mom stable enough for you to step away for a bit? Sending my West Coast best wishes and love to you and yours.
Catamount, accept my congratulations on having viscious little mouse killers living in the house. If you was to see two mousies meet their fate, try the following.
