Cheap Chawklit in the MMP

Yay for organic pest control big kitty!

Moooom, one of my neighbors in Indiana spun as a hobby. She mostly worked with wool and goat hair (we had angoras among our goats for a couple of years, so she was a beneficiary), but also cat hair from long haired breeds (of which we had one as well) She spun yarn and knitted a number of memorial pieces for people she knew.

Hugs to the whole Bear family. As caretakers, don’t forget to take care of yourselves too.

Our spate of rainy weather has put us under flash flood watch, so our creek cleanup scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed. I’ll still go downtown for the science march though.

Groceries are bought and Chinese takeout procured (it was raining buckets when I left to get it). Now the bra is off and I’m in for the evening. :smiley:

We just had a toad-soaker come thru - here’s hoping it holds off tomorrow till this time. I’m taking a raincoat to DC tomorrow, but I don’t want to have to wear it.

We took Higgs to be groomed, and while she was being de-stinked, **FCD **and I had an early supper. I’ve been working on another lap robe, hankerin’ for cake. No cake in the house. Dammit.

Mom requested coffee so I made coffee. I am drinkin’ coffee. It just smelled too dang good. Anywho, mom pronounced it good so I’m happy.

Sis and I know we can call on Hospice for assistance as needed. Plus the bros can also pitch in. However the two of us want to do all we can ourselves. I’m not leavin’ because I don’t want to get a phone call tellin’ me it’s over when I’m 135 miles away. I would not be able to stand that. OYKW is understandin’ of all this as he has an elderly mother as well and may very well face the same thing in a few years. We talk several times a day and he’s plannin’ on comin’ up to spend a day next weekend.

Catamount, accept my congratulations on having viscious little mouse killers living in the house. If you was to see two mousies meet their fate, try the following.

[/QUOTE]

Swampy, I watched my Mother die. I do not recommend it.

But then, you may be a better man than I. At least you do not have an evil Wife waiting to get her house and money.

Hey, Doggio, can you get off work & come North when Ruble heads East this summer?
First we’ll go to the 3 Stooges museum, then we’ll go to Diggerland XL.
I mean, what could possibly go wrong with all of us getting together with large construction equipment for some nyuks?

Memo to self: Hibernate.

I worked. I almost had 2 days off next week. But that won’t happen.

Alex Catt is 16lbs.

Spidey, I’d like to. But not sure if I can get off.

Survived my double today. Tomorrow is the bag sale at the old family homestead. Curiosity may just require a visit.

Doggio - how much does Gordie weigh? :eek:

Ruble - I hope the visit goes well and you get what you need.

You know, on reading the OP again, I’d like to say that I would share my chocolate with youse guys.

I hope you have a fun/meaningful/worthwhile time out supporting science. I look forward to the tweets about how you were paid. :stuck_out_tongue:

I will now try to go to bed again. Right, I suspect, when you lot are getting up. It’s unnatural!

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work. Double today.

And to everyone going to the March For Science today, experiment for me!

Sunny, Gordie is 60lbs.

Gee, I didn’t realize how small my cats are. I’d love to have a Maine Coon or another big feline… if I was inclined to have another cat… which I’m not.

I’m having to recompute my travel to DC. Last night I was thinking I needed to leave the house by 7, but that could get me to the meeting place at 9 - way earlier than planned. Instead, I’m breakfasting at home and I’ll check the Green Line schedule before deciding when to leave. Looks like I’ll be meeting up with MetalMouse, Rockin’, and a non-Mumper Doper who I don’t think I should name since I’ve not met him/her. I’ve got my ID and some money in my pocket in a pouch that’s fixed to my pants. I don’t have belt loops, so I have its strap buttoned in at the top of the zipper. Altho if I’m wearing my raincoat, which seems highly likely, my back pockets won’t be accessible to thieves anyway.

Just slight paranoia - I’m not terribly worried about pickpockets. Still, better to be safe.

**Sunny **- I wonder if we get inclement weather pay??? :smiley: From the looks of the radar, it’s been raining in DC for a couple of hours at least, and there are many bands moving in. The skies weep for science…

Happy Saturday, all!

That’s how much Big Fat Durwood Cat weighs.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN OK, not really cause I have been up a while. ‘Tis 65 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 86 and N.O.S. for the day. No big plans other than mom duty for the day although I will at some point drive to Valley, AL to gas twuck up. ‘T is twelve miles from mom’s place to Valley but gas is nine cents a gallon cheaper so worth the ride. Sis is goin’ to the sto’ to get the makin’s for cherry delight, one of mom’s favorites. Dindin shall be poppyseed chikin, roasted asperguts, butterbeans and cherry delight. We decided that we will make all the things mom likes. She might not eat much of it, but have it all she shall.

Have fun all y’all goin’ to D.C. to march for science!

I shall go purtify as soon as I take the sheets from my bed out of the washer and put 'em in the dryer. Then, onward into the day!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Mooom - my cat’s quite big (and fat) though she’s no special breed. (She was overweight when we adopted her, and she has lost some weight since. We have her on a diet.)

{{swampy and swampy’s mom}}

As for cheap chawklit, I got even more lately, so I’ll have some for a while now.

Blurf. Woke up not knowing what day it is and almost started to get ready for irk:eek:

Here’s hoping the wx holds off for the Science Marchers. Wish I was closer. I shall be lazy today. I really should be irking as I had a new batch of stuff dumped on me last minute for accreditation visit next week but I don’t care anymore. I just don’t care anymore. Tahred of stressing about it.

Of course, the house needs cleaning and there is always laundry but it will have to wait. And my TV in the bedroom is acting up so I guess a new TV is in order now. Always something.

Happy weekend everyone.

Happy Saturday!

It looks to be rainy today.
I hope y’all marchers don’t get soaked, and I know from experience, walking in soaked jeans is awful.
I did the March of Dimes walk-a-thon four years in a row.

I slept from 9 to 4, and I was happy with that. Then I fell back asleep from 6 to 10, and that was even better.
House cleaning is on the agenda for today, what else is new, right?
Also, going to drag Sah-son out to throw down the wild flower seed. It’s been rainy, so the ground should be soft enough to rake in some grooves, damp enough to hold the seed, and then the rain can water them.
I didn’t get my lawnmower yet so I need to send an email out to the company.
My contract got renewed at irk, so I need to sign it and send it back. I was starting to worry a bit, but I’m good to go.
I need to set up the new cat box.

FCM - I’d rather have a smaller cat. Something that doesn’t THUD! when he jumps off the couch, something that doesn’t sound like a galloping horse when he runs up and down the hallway. Even the neighbor can hear him through the wall.

I have to figure out what’s for dinner. We were going to go out today so we would have picked up lunch/dinner, but that plan has been changed until tomorrow.

{{{Swampy and mom}}}

Phew. He is safe from Alex Catt!

Separating work and life is prudent. Really. Don’t bring work home. Don’t think about it at home. Stress is a killer, so they say. Let your home be your refuge and work be work. {{{hugs}}}

Hee, hee, hee. :smiley: My cats are relatively dainty little 9 lb monsters. They come with the innate ability to sound like elephants, because cats. I think there are whole threads on the Dope about how cats defy physics and change size and weight. A smaller cat will not help you. Hiding toys around for him is a good idea, btw. :slight_smile:

Last night was a do not sleep night. We went to bad Chinese food. Hubby wanted something different (and he likes the place). Ugh. Up until way too late.

Maybe some laundry today. It’s very windy today. Suppose I’ll check the weather in a bit.

{{{Swampy and Mom}}}

So did I, and if I ever tell you that story you’ll know why I live 3000 miles away from my family.

Well, the chicken fingers didn’t hold on to their coating, again. I may have to see about getting a bigger cooling rack-sorta thing. I’ve read lotsa recipes on line and none of them ever mention this problem, or what to do about it. :mad:
Yeah, I know; flour, egg, bread crumbs. But mixing the curry paste in there is where the problem lies. It’s kinda gritty and I just sorta mash it into the mayonnaise until it surrenders and mixes in. I’ll have to experiment with mixing it into the eggs I guess.

Wifey is gone off somewhere for the day. She told me where, but I’ve forgotten.
I should do something around the house. Clean something, or put up more lights in the garage. Being able to see is an important part of not cutting your fingers off.
But I may just call my shootin’ buddy and go out to the range. I dunno.

Dinner tonight might be shrimp linguini. I haven’t made that in a coon’s age and it’s really good, but I’ll hafta go to the store and get some stuffs to do it.

There’s a march for science going on up in Portland today, but I decided not to go. It hurts me just to walk most of the time and I’m not so keen on ‘marching’ theses days. Y’all marchers have a good time now, ya’hear?
